You forgot the Dodgers... the team who had the highest payroll in the NL last year...
2/1/2008 1:40:44 PM
At least the Mets are trading their future for him. It's not like he's a free agent and they're "buying" him. I think it'll happen by 5.

Kurkijan just reported it was done on Sportscenter but didn't mention the years or dollars
2/1/2008 6:50:17 PM
150.75 for 7 yearsAfter Barry Fucking Zito got 126 over 7, this seems very reasonable by comparison
2/1/2008 9:37:34 PM
They said it's closer to $135M now...Johan, time to ditch the wife and upgrade... this is NYC bud.
2/7/2008 2:11:28 PM
^ Terrorist convention. Also what is this shit about Pedro and Juan Marichal participating in a cock fight that got posted on youtube. Apparently Pedro's cock got killed. PETA is going to burn down Shea.
2/7/2008 6:24:39 PM
the mets can choke on my cock again this season

I love Beltran spitting Jimmy Rollins quote back at himRollins backed his up with an MVP season...hopefully Carlos can copy him on that too
2/20/2008 10:45:23 AM
Are the Phillies our new biggest rival?I guess with two straight third place finishes, the Braves should be irrelevant now, no?
2/20/2008 4:49:12 PM
I think Castro could be our secret weapon if a fight did break out. He's built like a fucking freight train and at the very least could sit on somebody for a while while Moises peed on them.Beltran and Santana seem like pretty boys who probably wouldn't get too involved.I could see Wright going either way...the way he plays makes me think he'd be a scrapper, but some of the pictures I've seen of him makes me think he'd be a slapper.

The dream is over.3-run bomb against Juan Gonzalez.
2/29/2008 1:32:16 PM
Juan Gonzalez is alive?
2/29/2008 1:39:08 PM
We're DOOMED!!!!Johan was just trying to locate and threw far more sliders than usual. It was interesting to see him throw his "out" pitch (the change) on 1 strike counts... he was just trying to get a feel for his pitches. That change is freaking SICK though... can't wait for the season.
2/29/2008 1:44:27 PM
Who cares when he throws his "out" pitch. If you only throw it on 2 strike counts, they'll sit on it. The best pitchers throw any pitch, in any count. Honestly I have reservations about Johan, he could be the first pitcher to win 30 games in ___ (i don't feel like looking) or he might be the pitcher that gave up a ton of HRs and was slightly above average for the last 3 months last year. Obviously, something was slightly off last year... better hope his catcher/pitching coach/self make that shit right again.
3/1/2008 3:21:33 AM
rough day for the Mets....Ryan Church suffered a concussion in Saturday's collision with Marlon Anderson and is on the way to the hospital for a CT scan.Church, who said afterwards that he didn't remember the collision, also complained of a sore jaw. Mar. 1 - 3:17 pm etSource: Newsday Carlos Delgado was sent to New York on Saturday for an MRI on a sore right hip.The Mets may regret not bringing in more insurance for Delgado this year, though that's something they still could address before Opening Day. Delgado missed 2 1/2 weeks late last season with a strained right hip flexor. The Mets are saying that they don't believe his current injury is serious, but the truth is that he's having trouble bouncing back from even minor problems at this stage in his career.
3/1/2008 3:51:09 PM
They're all fine. I'm more worried about Beltran's knees...Santana on the bump today in about 20 minutes on MLB.tv & SNY.
3/5/2008 12:43:39 PM
Motherfucking blackout zonesCharlotte can't see Reds, Braves, Nats, or Orioles gamesThats like 50 Mets games I miss out on
3/5/2008 12:46:58 PM
How the hell is it possible we held on to Pelfrey AND Martinez in the Santana deal. That still baffles me.Fernando Martinez is going to be a stud...
3/5/2008 1:53:57 PM
Johan vs the Sox now.
3/10/2008 12:11:52 PM
triple postOllie looking strong today. The Mets 1-4 is the best in baseball... too bad 5 is so iffy. I hope Pelfrey can actually act like he has a sac on the mound... he'll be pitching in ATL first weekend of the season..Oh and Adam Eaton is in midseason form. 4 IP, 7 ER, 11 hits. Solid staff you got there, Philly...
3/27/2008 2:17:49 PM
^ Phils bullpen = FTLHonestly I am excited about the NL East this year, but I as a Brave fan, I am worried that Santana and Pedro win 40+ games between the two of them. Please John Smoltz injury to not be severe.
3/28/2008 5:01:53 PM
With the off days in the first part of the schedule it looks like we won't need a 5th starter till that Milwaukee series on the second weekendNot sure how Willie wants do set the rotation up though
3/28/2008 5:37:02 PM
Wright in mid season form with the 3 rbi double !

4/8/2008 5:11:13 PM
Maybe work on keeping the fucking brewers in the park, Johan?
4/12/2008 3:03:09 PM
Other teams can get 2 out hits with RISP. But not the Mets.
4/22/2008 3:33:06 PM
I'll post in your thread, Mr. Met. The Braves and their shitty April schedule are just a half game back of your girls. They're actually batting .167 with 2 out RISP, 17 RBI in 92 PA. Yikes![Edited on April 22, 2008 at 4:05 PM. Reason : The Mets, that is; the Braves are tearing that shit up.]
4/22/2008 3:58:54 PM
i fully believe i could hit better than delgado at this point of his career.Casanova is a horrible hitter to be such a big boy
4/22/2008 4:06:33 PM
4/22/2008 4:39:41 PM
Don't take anything I say in here seriously. I use it as my stream of consciousness during the season. I realize it's a long 162 game season and overreacting to a slow start is stupid...Mets are fine and they will win the East...[Edited on April 22, 2008 at 4:43 PM. Reason : x]
4/22/2008 4:43:24 PM
^and that made me LOL even more. hahahaphillies are the slow starters mister. don't make us bring you back down to reality
4/22/2008 4:55:42 PM
Their season sure ended suddenly last year. BTW, did anyone see the guy in the crowd swing at the cop yesterday? I can't find a video...
4/22/2008 5:01:36 PM
speaking of Casanova, how many announcers make jokes when he doesn't score? "Casanova couldn't get past 1st base" "Casanova is out trying to steal 2nd" "Casanova with a shot to deep center"]
4/25/2008 8:01:35 PM
Good job Delgado... don't give those imbeciles a curtain call. bunch of bandwagoners at Shea these days...
