this thread is making me mad.You want to talk about someone taking a game over. Philip Rivers took games over. Holt took games over. TA as a freshman was unstoppable when he wanted to be (the B and B boys are not even close to being on TA's level).
9/12/2007 10:41:42 PM
Pretty sure Calvin Johnson was All American all 3 years with Reggie Ball throwing him passes, this easily defeats Mike Williams, who had Reggie Bush/Leinart on the same side of the ball with PAC ten defenses, end of discussion there, the whole Garland Heath defense is insane, it was one play, did you miss the other 5 back breaking catches CJ had against us in his career.. Also, Holt was good, and an AA by his senior year I believe, but the ACC was absolutely awful 95-98. Charles Rogers should be considered simply for his draft day commercial for having 46 catches and 12 touchdowns.

we need the king of the tun pic on every page of this threadand someone should add a few bags of weed
9/13/2007 12:45:09 AM
god freaking dangit! i CAME on here to read about ta and instead read through 3 damn pages of tree twist and his being a homer and arguing over and over again. Calvin was better than Tory. Tory is the man and my favorite. Now can we please talk about t.a.?
9/13/2007 2:43:35 AM
I'm gonna get reemed over this...but what does it mean when you call someone a "homer"?
9/13/2007 10:02:27 AM
that person has a "home" team bias, like someone taking P Riv in the first round of a FFB draft[Edited on September 13, 2007 at 10:06 AM. Reason : .]

I'd take Holt anyday over Calvin. I just didn't think Calvin was that great. He had some unbelievable catches, but he never really won games by himself and took them over. IMO Torry was a much better college reciever. Calvin was drafted so high becuase of his measurables, notsomuch his actual on field performance (Which was good, but I don't think 'great' compared to other #1 pick WR's).A short list of receivers I'd take over Calvin as college players (Off the top of my head): Holt, KRob, Peter Warrick...hell, even Braylon Edwards was a better college receiver IMO. Edwards????HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
9/13/2007 11:18:11 AM
Laugh all you want, but Edwards' worst year was nearly as good as Calvin's best. Too many people drink the ESPN Calvin Johnson kool-aid. I'm not gonna deny the kids physical potential, but he just was not awe-inspiring in college...reggie ball or not[Edited on September 13, 2007 at 11:38 AM. Reason : ]

fellas../message_topic.aspx?topic=494002can we talk about TA again plz?
9/13/2007 11:39:32 AM
again, the idea is not who had the best stats, but who was the most dominantdid braylon edwards ever dominate anything?[Edited on September 13, 2007 at 11:40 AM. Reason : what else is there to say about TA?]
9/13/2007 11:40:07 AM
No, the idea is to talk about TA and his pending drug charges. Not to talk about the most dominate players at all.
9/13/2007 11:41:08 AM
OK TA WAS ARRESTED HE DOES DRUGSHE IS A PRETTY BIG FUCK UPnot much else to saygo away now
9/13/2007 11:43:05 AM

9/13/2007 11:44:17 AM
I like to hear people make fumbling or pink jersey jokes, myself. Never fails to make me lol
9/13/2007 11:45:33 AM
i'm sure if TA wanted to play in a shitty league, he certainly could havehe had more talent than most dudes in the AFL but zero work ethicobviously he was more content smoking weed in albemarle than trying to make something of his lifethis story should be filed under LEAST SUPRISING STORY OF ALL TIME[Edited on September 13, 2007 at 11:47 AM. ^ lol... in those videos he's carrying the ball like a loaf of bread 9 times out of 10. Even in his highlights he's not running the ball correctly. He about fumbles in a few of those. So who was a bigger waste of talent:TA or Clarett?[Edited on September 13, 2007 at 11:55 AM. Reason : ]
9/13/2007 11:54:06 AM
Clarett. He was still given chances and didn't/couldn't take advantage of them.
9/13/2007 11:58:55 AM
I think TA could have done it in the NFL had he continued improving from his freshman year. Clarett seemed kind of small, like Reggie Bush, but with less talent.
9/13/2007 11:59:16 AM
haha, quote from that video
9/13/2007 12:01:45 PM
clarett was a power back, 30 pounds heavier and nothing like bush

TA got BLLLLAAAAAZED right after the Orange Bowl victoryI was there, and it was HILARIOUS

Torry has been a top 5 receiver in the NFL for 7 out of his 8 years in the league and helped his team win a fucking superbowl. Only player in history to have what...6 straight 1300 yard receiving years? I don't know how some of you can think he didn't dominate in college. So the fuck what...he didnt physically dominate DB's...he didnt have to because he is faster than all of them and runs better routes than anyone. Most yards in school history. Cotchery was great, but he had the best quarterback in school history.
9/13/2007 5:31:07 PM
Sorry, but Torry took over far more games than Calvin Johnson ever did. I can only think of a couple games that Calvin Johnson truly took over and dominated, and Torry was unstoppable for a whole season (on an otherwise lousy team). Make no mistake, I credit the 98 FSU win to INTs.I wouldn't name Torry as the most dominant college receiver of all time, but he is not getting bumped by Calvin Johnson.
9/13/2007 7:24:47 PM
i think some of these guys are so afraid of being called a homer that they just shit on one of the top WRs in recent NCAA memory
9/13/2007 7:37:25 PM
no, not at all... they arent shitting on him, they are just saying that Johnson was more dominant.Quit being a homer
9/13/2007 8:03:31 PM
