Wifi, but the pic on engadget was missing the Safari icon. Steve Jobs, you're such a kidder
9/5/2007 1:40:14 PM
another shocker - safari's on it
9/5/2007 1:41:18 PM
Bwahaha, "802.11b/g -- "Others have done this and it's failed. We understand why it's failed, and we know what to do make it successful. "Nice job on the Zune slam, Jobs
9/5/2007 1:42:13 PM
sweet
9/5/2007 1:42:16 PM
wow i really didn't think it was gonna happen. Now, it just needs to be flash based.PRETTY PLEASE
9/5/2007 1:42:56 PM
So, with the iPod classic at $349, and the iPhone at $600, where the hell are they gonna price this thing? I mean, if it's $500, isn't it basically an iPhone that you don't have to activate? Can't you already buy those some places online?
9/5/2007 1:43:59 PM
The capacities on these will be greatly reduced, methinks... priced the same as the 'classic', but with lower capacities.[Edited on September 5, 2007 at 1:45 PM. Reason : d]
9/5/2007 1:44:43 PM
so they have some Beatles and Lennon showing...I'm guessing the final announcement is The Beatles coming to itunes?wifi antenna looks kind of crappy...wish they could have come up with something better than a window on the back, but still sweet
9/5/2007 1:44:55 PM
I'm betting ~$400-450 ... halfway between a 160gb Classic ($350) and the smaller iPhone ($500)
9/5/2007 1:45:41 PM
gotta be flash based for 8mm thick
9/5/2007 1:46:17 PM
9/5/2007 1:47:18 PM
If it's flash-based, I would love Apple to put a 16gb+ chip in there please!
9/5/2007 1:47:27 PM
i'm not buying unless it comes in at least 32gb flavor
9/5/2007 1:48:12 PM
not true
9/5/2007 1:48:28 PM
^^yeah that[Edited on September 5, 2007 at 1:48 PM. Reason : .]
9/5/2007 1:48:36 PM
What facebook was he browsing? Is there a iphone interface for facebook i'm unaware of? lol
9/5/2007 1:48:43 PM
one thing missing from ipods imho are expansion slots, microSDHC ftw!
8GB and 16GB , so little storage
9/5/2007 1:49:17 PM
told you fuckers the 16gb was coming
9/5/2007 1:49:29 PM
I want an 160 GB iPod Touch
9/5/2007 1:49:40 PM
oh well. guess I'll be getting a nano instead. fuck this!
9/5/2007 1:49:55 PM
Very nice, 16gb! ...and I called it at $400, wow I can't believe that they actually priced it that way.
9/5/2007 1:50:57 PM
damnit, what a STUPID move."here's a product you can do almost antyhing with, but you can put even less on it than the 10 year old ipod your'e currently rocking"
9/5/2007 1:51:15 PM
they better add support for the wifi music store on iphones!
9/5/2007 1:51:51 PM
I mean, like I said, I don't think they really have a choice. If they'd put 60GB or more, it would have cost as much, if not more than an iPhone. No one would have bought that.
9/5/2007 1:52:12 PM
Well, it's better than the iPhone's 8gb @ $600.
so stupid, i mean come on dude it has to be flash based to make it that small, and i have 8gb and it's plenty, omg you must be that person that thinks they need all 400,000 songs in their music collection with them at ALL times.. i'd glady sacrifice size for speed, wifi, touch capabilities... not to mention a 32gb flash based device would be insanely priced
9/5/2007 1:53:02 PM
what do you knowI got to write up the very gizmo we all wanted http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/05/ipod-touch-gets-official/Now, where's the 32GB & 64GB versions?!
9/5/2007 1:53:16 PM
fuck that...make it thicker and add more memory
9/5/2007 1:55:28 PM
excuse me while i visit etrade
9/5/2007 1:55:42 PM
16gb for videos AND music is not a lot.
9/5/2007 1:55:54 PM
makes sense to turn off all electronics now, i wonder if people would have noticed the wifi network
9/5/2007 1:56:48 PM
haha i can't wait to see the surge in itunes music sales from all the impulse buyers and the people showing off their new iPod Touch
9/5/2007 1:57:01 PM
Ok, so expect a larger capacity flash-based Touch sometime next year ... I seriously doubt they'll put a HDD in one. That's what they sell Classics for.
9/5/2007 1:57:43 PM
9/5/2007 1:58:06 PM
so what now? you can place starbucks orders from your ipod touch/iphone? lol
9/5/2007 1:59:36 PM
9/5/2007 1:59:39 PM
20 or 30 albums? what are you comparing it to a 1gb device?16gb device can hold ~136 albums, and a video is only about the size of 4 albums
9/5/2007 2:01:18 PM
OkayThat's it ...Gonna buy an iPod Touch ...*puts 3G iPod in a drawer*
9/5/2007 2:02:12 PM
9/5/2007 2:03:22 PM
Well, apart from adding more storage ... the one other thing that would make this even better is support for bluetooth stereo headphones. But still, it's awesome, and I know what I'm getting myself for Christmas.[Edited on September 5, 2007 at 2:04 PM. Reason : .]
9/5/2007 2:03:56 PM
I think I'm gonna hang on to my 3G for a while longer. 32GB iPhone with 3G and GPS, and I'll bite.
9/5/2007 2:04:29 PM
in that case you might as well hold out for 160gb, bluetooth, radio, expansion slot as well.
9/5/2007 2:06:28 PM
and at that point, hold out for the one that goes to work for you.
9/5/2007 2:07:09 PM
136 albums is still only about 1/10 of my actual album collection (not even my downloaded music)
9/5/2007 2:07:14 PM
9/5/2007 2:07:34 PM
yeah, GPS would've been nice too
9/5/2007 2:09:13 PM
I think I'm gonna hang on to my 3G for a while longer buy a new nano. 32GB iPhone with 3G and GPS, and I'll bite.Pretty much how I feel on the matter.
9/5/2007 2:10:06 PM
man, i was so ready to switch to ipod. i'm so monumentally let down by the lack of storage size, it's kind of suprising to me. i really wanted to buy oneand the starbucks shit is faggatory
9/5/2007 2:10:44 PM
I was just holding out for the "iPod version of the iPhone" and that day has come. I am quite content with flash. I am too harsh on my tech devices to be carrying a tiny hard disk around with me. I will gladly give up the storage for the ability to jog/hike with it and such.
