NEVER NUDE!!
7/24/2007 12:53:34 PM
one of the funniest things I noticed was during one of the episodes in season three...can't remember which one...michael is speaking about how detailed television shows usually are, and want to pull the viewer in to feel that it's all real. When he opens the cabinet, all there is is a starbucks coffee cup. Then george-michael opens another cabinet, and there is a single pack of crackers, which he pulls out and eats.hilarious.
7/24/2007 12:59:29 PM
yeah, i loved that scene. Just watched it a couple weeks ago - it's in the beginning of S3, because I only watched a couple episodes of S3 then. He's saying something like how "hollywood is so thorough with sets now'a'days, and how you can hardly tell a set from reality". I loved it how when George Michael opened the cabinet, he looked around for a second, like he was looking around to see what all was inside the cabinet, then kind of reluctantly grabbed the bar - the only thing in there.[Edited on July 24, 2007 at 1:20 PM. Reason : .]
7/24/2007 1:16:58 PM
You're going to get some live-ins.
7/24/2007 1:19:05 PM
yesss. i loved that too. DANGIT, everytime i read this thread i miss the creative effort those writers put into the comedy of the show
7/24/2007 1:19:41 PM
CHECK YOUR LEASE MAN!!cause you're living in fuck citywhat's hurwitz up to? i heard his latest pilot tanked.
7/24/2007 8:09:08 PM
^aha I watched that episode yesterday. The ending is the best."By the way, I'm gonna require use of the company car."
7/25/2007 4:04:56 PM
he was developing a bbc remake called "the thick of it" (i think) with christopher guest, but ABC decided not to pick it up
7/25/2007 4:27:24 PM
Buster: Mother always made me wait on the balcony until zip-up. And yet anything goes at bath time.
7/31/2007 8:44:01 PM
just finished s3, it took me all the way to the episode where rita walks on water to realize the epilogues at the end weren't really just previewing what happens next ep. I skipped so many of them but seems like, especially from what the thread suggests, you can just watch the series again to pick up on tons of shit.
8/3/2007 10:39:22 AM
^ oh, wow, that sucks... those were always my favorite parts of the episodes. It'd be worth it to go back and watch them for that.
8/3/2007 10:40:47 AM
Yeah, you learn Buster loses his hand in an epilogue. It's funny in that same episode George mentions something about holding Buster's hand and ominous music plays.
8/3/2007 11:07:08 AM
What was the deal with the "Previously on" part of the second episode of the Third season? Was that where they had to cut an episode or something?
8/3/2007 11:22:17 AM
i just downloaded the whole Arrested Development series in ipod format
8/3/2007 11:23:23 AM
^^ From what I understand, Fox was prodding them to do ANYTHING to increase ratings. Same reason for the "SOMEONE. WILL. DIE." gimmick that ended with, "Oh, Gob, you could charm the black off a telegram boy."
8/3/2007 11:56:30 AM
is this show any good? my fiancee loves it but ive never seen it at all. i genearlly avoid all of her shows (desperate housewives, scrubs, g's anatomy, lost) but this is the only one of the lot which ive wondered about.
8/3/2007 3:53:13 PM
^watch it. it seems to have very little to do with the other shows that she likes.
8/3/2007 3:54:13 PM
ham hates desperate housewives
8/3/2007 4:06:29 PM
^^^ i've been a huge fan for a long time. My wife had previously seen only bits and pieces in passing, and never understood why i found it so hilarious, and I could never convince her to sit down and watch it with me. Then I went out of town for a week on a business trip and she was bored and decided to watch some episodes on DVD. She ended up watching all 3 seasons in two weeks
8/3/2007 4:16:15 PM
So I was just talking to a coworker about Tobias and he said he never thought Tobias was gay. He was serious.
8/14/2007 1:14:19 PM
8/14/2007 1:18:14 PM
even better is in the first season (I think) when Buster used to have the hand chair...Lucille throws it out and when he sees it it says "I sure do miss that hand"...and of course when he sits on the bench before he goes swimming in the ocean and the bench advertisement says one arm (or one hand...can't remember but still highly entertaining)
8/14/2007 3:16:31 PM
he actually says "I never thought I'd miss a hand so much"
8/14/2007 5:06:51 PM
hahaha...even better!I was just watching the second season when Tobias goes blueTobias: "I'm afraid I just blue myself"Michael: "There's got to be a better way to say that"
8/14/2007 5:16:00 PM
I never realized how hillarious this show is, but I just started watching season 1. The only episode I ever caught on TV was the 'muscle suit' one, which was a little too much for me at the time, though hillarious now.It looks like there is a petition for a 2009 christmas special. http://www.arresteddevelopment2009.com/
9/9/2007 9:50:34 AM
^ yeah, I think that's the reason it had such low viewership. It just wasn't the type of show you could catch a random episode of and enjoy/ understand if you hadn't seen the ones before it. Most people who watch the DVDs love it, though.
9/9/2007 10:33:53 AM
I know the reason I never watched it was because the airing day and time hopped around constantly.
9/9/2007 10:52:25 AM
Best show not on television
9/9/2007 12:03:30 PM
i have arrested development in ipod format on my pc. i'll exchange it for some other comedies in ipod format
