cheevements uphttp://www.achieve360points.com/game/ncaafootball08/mainly basic ones, but a few cool ones like bring a 1 star school to a 6 star school and throw for 717 yards
6/27/2007 12:06:59 AM
I'm still not seeing much hype about this game, and it drops soon.
6/27/2007 9:35:02 AM
^^ if someone is able to throw for 717 yards in one game, then the video game sucksNFL BLITZ!!
6/27/2007 9:50:08 AM
^^Trust me, EA isn't going to advertise this game (i.e. have a commercial) until about a 2-5 days before the game comes out. EA probably knows about the following of the NCAA Football series, and they feel that hardcore fan base is going to buy it no matter what, so why waste money on advertising? Plus, video game sites are going to pimp their game anyway, so that might be all the advertising that they need.[Edited on June 27, 2007 at 9:52 AM. Reason : Everyone buys]
6/27/2007 9:52:01 AM
i'm sure they will have commercials on the nba draftmonopolies don't need to advertise anyway

I can hang 400 yards passing on Heisman and have about 200 yards rushing, if I just passed I could easily put up 700 yards, and that's 5 minute quarters. But of course that is after several seasons and I have my own 5-Star recruits on-board, not our stock team, haha.Seems like one of those achievements I'll only get once because I enjoy running the ball too much to pass it the whole game.
6/27/2007 5:13:18 PM
^^ and ^ I am not denying it CAN be done, but its just stupid. Related to that there are always gimmic plays and tricks you can do but i force myself not to use them. Like the option, its too easy on there, so I make myself not use it a lot.
6/27/2007 5:19:49 PM
a lot of those achievements can be gained in a single game versus a scrub team with long quartersknock those out of the way and then play on "regular" terms and get the other ones as they happen
6/27/2007 5:24:03 PM
^^Yeah I'm not saying I would do it more than once, I mean I hate just throwing long bombs to my 99 speed WR, it's too easy.Madden has apparently changed the DB play in it to really change the passing game, hopefully NCAA will add these changes next season too if they work out well because there are various routes that always work regardless of scheme, difficulty, or team you're playing.

6/27/2007 9:28:55 PM
thats like the very first trailer they put out awhile go, but still cool
6/28/2007 8:06:25 AM
I always buy this game and play it nonstop till Madden drops, then hardly touch it afterwardsThis year will probably be no different with Halo, Bioshock and GTA along with Madden on the docket
6/28/2007 8:09:23 AM
they have the wolf fingers in the game(like the tomahawk chop and the gator chomp and the texas longhorn thing).....its in a new video from gametrailers.com. John Dunlap is standing in the endzone doing the wolfy fingers for about 1 second of the video...awesome[Edited on June 29, 2007 at 2:56 PM. Reason : pic]

6/29/2007 4:29:11 PM
i dont get how they can leave out little stuff like a clear visor?i mean come on does it really take that much time to put that in when it HAS been in the past few yearsNCAA really needs some competition b/c to me the last 3 years the game has been kind of softof course i will still buy it every year b/c its still the best game out
6/29/2007 6:39:23 PM
^for the clear visor to be in, they would have to do ALOT to configure lighting, faces, etc under the visor....its not like they could port it over from the regular xbox cuz its a totally new engine.
6/29/2007 6:54:25 PM
http://www.sportsgamer.com/content/875theres some info on the gamedoes anybody know how many prospects u can create for recruiting b/c i normally but somebody like Terrell Manning in there then create my friends and make them suck when we all play dynasty

Two more weeks...until NCAA Football 08 takes over my XBOX 360 until Madden 08 comes out.
7/3/2007 10:42:15 AM
Looks like I will be getting a 360 instead of PS3... how easy is it to learn the controller on the 360 if all you have ever used was the PS3?
7/3/2007 1:41:05 PM
^It's not too hard. The only thing I really had to get used to was the buttons and the triggers on the top of the controllers. Other than that, the controllers are almost similar.
7/3/2007 1:51:00 PM
does it have the + directional controller or just the little thumbknob/stick thing or both like the PS3? I cant stand them
7/3/2007 1:57:07 PM
oOOOOOOoohhhhhh Yeah...I will be all over this, only to take a break to Read Harry Potter, but then back all over this before I head back to school. III
7/3/2007 2:02:48 PM
The 360 controller does have a D-pad. Here's a pic:The triggers are behind the top buttons.[Edited on July 3, 2007 at 2:04 PM. Reason : diagram]
7/3/2007 2:03:12 PM
best controler ever made. fits right into your hand.
7/3/2007 2:11:54 PM
what do the x-box symbol 1-4 buttons do?
7/3/2007 2:23:38 PM
shows what player port you are signed intohaha you sound like a old man asking about these blasted newfangled machines
7/3/2007 2:28:27 PM
7/3/2007 2:29:40 PM
haha, suck it bitches... like said before, the only console games I play are Madden and NCAA and maybe an occasional baseball game and I had a PS2 so never even had to consider an xbox until now
7/3/2007 2:47:27 PM
getting accustomed to the "new" controllers doesnt take long
7/3/2007 2:52:15 PM
^^Welcome to the light... and bttt. [Edited on July 3, 2007 at 2:52 PM. Reason : NCAA here...]
7/3/2007 2:52:31 PM
so if I switch to the 360 what are the downsides... if you can be objective...paying for online play? which I havent really done much anyways but could be fun...what else?
7/3/2007 3:10:50 PM
other than the overheating (get a instore plan so you can walk in and exchange) nothingand most of the people that get the errors i think dont take that well care of their systems
7/3/2007 3:14:14 PM
The only downside is probably paying for online play, but $50 a year isn't that bad. That's under $5 a month. The marketplace can be expensive at times. Some of the content is overpriced, but the overall experience of the XBOX 360 is great.[Edited on July 3, 2007 at 3:15 PM. Reason : grammar]
7/3/2007 3:15:29 PM
I looked at the Elite version and its basically as much as the PS3... and doesnt come with built in wireless adapter (where I need to put it I pretty much have to have that...) now I am leaning more towards the PS3 grrrris the only advantage to the elite the bigger hard drive and 1080p?[Edited on July 3, 2007 at 3:20 PM. Reason : f]
7/3/2007 3:17:38 PM
Wireless adapters cost a shitload, but if you have a laptop that connects wirelessly, you can plug your 360 into that and connect to your network that way...perfect if you have a laptop near your system but not near your router...PM me if you wanna know how to set that up50 bucks a year for online play; basicially a must-get unless you're broke or antisocialPS3 had a blue ray drive which allows for higher capacity games; 360 games can be about 7 gig's while PS3's can be like 45...but this hasn't really been an issue for any games so far. Also the PS3 has tilt support so you can move the controller to perform on-screen actions...kind of a basic version of what the Wii offers...personally I dont give a shit about this, but it was cool shooting foul shots with the PS3 version of NBA 2k7.As far as game libraries are concerned, the only ones Sony really has exclusively anymore is Metal Gear and Gran Turismo, maybe a few others, but since you're mainly in to sports games this probably isn't an issue.I'm sure there's more but these are the ones that came to me...basically for primarily a sport gamer the 360 is probably the best choice. The PS3 controller doesn't have the rumble which is awesome on big hits in football games. So cost not being a factor, I'd go with the 360, and with it being 200 or 120 cheaper, its definitely the right choice.Plus if you do go online, you have all us motherfuckers ready to whoop your ass. haha, shit bitches, I have forgotten more football knowledge than you fools have ever learnedbut thanks for the info...so should I just get the 360 premium?I just got a badass LCD tv with plenty of HDMI inputs and I think only the elite 360 has HDMI[Edited on July 3, 2007 at 3:32 PM. Reason : d]
7/3/2007 3:28:12 PM
If I was getting my system now, I'd go for the elite100 extra gigs plus HDMI is woth 80 bucks IMOIf you settle on the premium, and you order within the next few days, you should order online at amazon of buy.com and get the free shippin; this will save you about 30 dollars in tax and the system should get there by the time NCAA comes out.
7/3/2007 3:34:07 PM
haven't bought this since 04' (for ps2) - does anyone know if there is an in-game save option available (or has there been in the last year or two)?... i have madden 06' on pc and that option is available in that, but you couldn't on ncaa in 04 (and i'd still be gettin it for ps2)
7/3/2007 7:14:13 PM
No in game saves
7/3/2007 7:34:26 PM
almost bought a 360 today but since I'm not getting a game for it until NCAA comes out decided to wait... do any places have them on sale or is the price pretty well set like the PS3
