When Obama has calendars with each day chalked full of verbal gaffs and fuck ups then we can talk about "double standards" but until then there is little to no comparison.

Maybe he was referring to the "Kansas Incident" in DC's Kingdom Come where the Parasite split open Captain Atom and turned the Midwest into a nuclear wasteland.

i dont get how people think obama will winamerica is pretty racist
5/12/2007 7:54:10 AM
And sexist. We just deep sixed the top two democratic challengers.
5/12/2007 9:11:45 AM
^^maybe it's just who you know.
5/12/2007 3:47:21 PM
Doubtful.
5/13/2007 9:07:46 AM
lol nah america is def. too racist to elect obama
5/13/2007 10:21:41 PM
Not really. Just the south, and they won't vote democrat anyway.
5/13/2007 10:45:10 PM
lol...come on now...
5/13/2007 11:13:52 PM
obama acts white enough and is actually half white so i think the american public will vote for him regardless of being a 'black' man
5/14/2007 10:49:38 AM
case in point: america loved the shit out of colin powell and would have voted him in if he had run.[Edited on May 14, 2007 at 10:55 AM. Reason : pre-bogus un briefing]

i think it will be more like "don't vote for obama because he won't win anyway." and it will be from people who don't want democrats to win in the first place.[Edited on May 14, 2007 at 12:02 PM. Reason : dems]

Thats funny, I remember black democrat leaders abandoning Harvey Gantt in the primary race because they said he'd never get elected Senator in such a racist state.
5/14/2007 12:33:37 PM
^ He didn't win, did he?
5/14/2007 12:51:44 PM
he was running against an incumbent helms. it's hard to oust someone with that much entrenched power.
5/14/2007 1:08:31 PM
he's pretty much sticking to architecture nowadays

Pardon the generalization, but someone who would not vote for a candidate due soley to the gender or race of said candidate would most likely not vote for a Democratic party candidate in the first place.I don't have any data to support my assumption, but it seems logical enough to me to think that gender and race would thus not have a tremendous influence on the general outcome of the election.
5/14/2007 6:23:30 PM
I disagree with that generalization
5/14/2007 6:27:17 PM
that's almost like saying rebublicans are both racist and sexist...right? j/w
5/14/2007 6:30:37 PM
A lot of feminists and blacks are sexist and racist respectively when it comes to voting. These groups vote overwhelmingly democrat. A significant portion of republican voters are racist and/or sexist, but overall it evens out I think.
5/14/2007 6:36:20 PM
I don't mean to imply that the Republican party supports sexist and racist viewpoints. But certainly, I wouldn't think that a racist or sexist would vote for a Democratic party candidate. The Democratic party platform doesn't typically support those viewpoints. How many racists would have supported voting for welfare programs and affirmative action legistlation had their candidate just not have been black?
5/14/2007 6:46:35 PM
I think that affirmative action is inherently racist and sexist, so the Democratic party does in fact support racism and sexism in my view.I think those who vote against Obama because of his race will be balanced out by those who vote for him because of his race.
