Can he make it 3?
5/2/2007 11:23:23 AM
I refuse to cheer for Nash since he is just a thug who only cares about moneyAlso he constantly travels and never plays defense]
5/2/2007 11:26:39 AM
^ lol, bait?
5/2/2007 11:47:52 AM
he's in the nba right? therefore he is a money hungry thug...i'm sure there are plenty of nightclubs in phoenix that he has shot up
5/2/2007 11:50:30 AM
5/2/2007 12:42:02 PM
Look it's clear that Nash only left Dallas because he is a thug and couldn't handle being the #2 star on the team, and because he is just a greedy punk who only cares about money.
5/2/2007 12:44:21 PM
No, I'm saying that Kobe does not draw defenders for the purpose of passing. He attempts to get himself into position for a shot, which means he is not actively setting up his teammates to receive a pass. Nash is more likely to drive the lane with the intent of passing, and so he predicts the best way to put defenders who are guarding him into a position that does not allow them to guard whomever he passes the ball to.
5/2/2007 1:04:05 PM
exactly, and the only way kobe is able to make some of the passes he does is his great athleticism. it happens over and over again where he drives into the lane and gets stuck up in the air and he just passes to whomever he can find. it happens very often at the end of the shot clock so his teamates have to force up shots against the buzzer.... which in turn lowers their field goal percentages... i keep hearing people say how bad kobe's teamates are at shooting... well its tougher to shoot when the only practice you get is shooting to beat the shot clock
5/2/2007 1:47:19 PM
you guys do know that Nash is a point guard and Kobe is a scoring wing player, right?
5/2/2007 1:55:38 PM
^ Nah man, everyone knows that assists is BY FAR the most important stat in basketball.I think next year they will actually make the winner of the game the team that has the most assists, rather than the most points. At least that's what it seems like they will eventually do, based on recent criteria for MVP.
5/2/2007 2:04:25 PM
aha ok, THATS why Brevin Knight was runner up in MVP voting the last couple seasons

Wow this is completely out of control. When people start comparing Lamar Odom to Scottie Pippen (one of the top 50-100 players of all-time) then I really don't know where to go from here.Lamar Odom came to LA with a lot of potential???? Lamar Odom came to the NBA with a lot of potential ten years ago. He has never lived up to it. That has zero to do with Kobe. He's a good player but certainly not a great one.I can't believe anyone is pretending the Lakers have a good roster. I'm going to break this down one more fucking time for you guys and then I'm done. Odom: Talented ballhandler/passer and good rebounder/defender. His scoring and intensity are inconsistent. His outside shooting is below average and he tends to settle for jumpers. He's never really been a winner anywhere. He doesn't get steals or block shots despite his amazing length/size/quickness combination.Walton: One of the worst 10-15 starters in the NBA. He would make a good role player. He can make a few jumpers and he's a very good passer. He doesn't rebound, he's too slow to guard quick guys and too small to guard big guys.Smush Parker: Decent scoring ability. Quick defensively. Poor passer, average ballhandler, low basketball IQ. Was outright released by the Cleveland Cavaliers during an 18 win season. That sums up his ability.Maurice Evans: Athletic defender with a decent jump shot. Doesn't rebound or get steals/blocks so his athleticism isn't put to great use.Kwame Brown: Great size but doesn't assert himself. Completely zones out at times and is invisible on the court. Injury prone. Worse than Shaq from the FT line. Doesn't ever switch or rotate defensively. Was dropped in the middle of the playoffs by the Washington Wizards who have no good big men whatsoever. Is a baby. Andrew Bynum: Good potential. Very strong rebounder/shot blocker. Only 19 years old and still very raw/inconsistent. Had 2-3 good weeks this season and 20-25 marginal/bad ones. Brian Cook: One dimensional 6'10 jump shooter. Very soft. Doesn't play defense. Radmanovic: Busted shoulder. Free agency signing gone bad it appears. Another one dimensional jump shooter that doesn't play defense, rebound or pass.Turiaf: Hustles. Fouls at an exponential rate. Too slow/short/big to make much of an impact but he at least tries to.Farmar: Worst starting PG in the NBA. Eventually he may develop into a good role player but as of right now he doesn't score or pass. A decent defender but not an impact player.Vujacic: A "shooter" that doesn't even shoot that well. Does absolutely nothing else.Shammond Williams: Nice hair, no game. Cried during a game in college.Aaron Mackie: Became worthless about 5 seasons ago. No idea how he's still in the league. Must have naked pictures of Mitch Kupchak or something.

^^The epitome of subjectivity. Do not listen to him.
5/2/2007 7:58:07 PM
Tonight, Nash is going to pwn Kobe for the second straight year
5/2/2007 8:23:25 PM
5/2/2007 9:48:54 PM
Well, with that being said all I can say is thanks. That's right----- thank you for rendering the definition of subjectivity. And what's with the constant name calling and swearing, man? I seriously think that you are unable to hold conversation without blowing a valve. It's okay to be incorrect sometime. It's not the end of the world. I just happen to call you out when I see that you've erred.

nash.
5/2/2007 10:05:04 PM
so far at halftime:Lakers: 52 total points on 5 total assitsSuns: 64 points on 14 assitsThere's a trend here...
5/3/2007 12:13:45 AM
^It is because Kobe's team sucks. That is all you will get from the anti-Nash crowd
5/3/2007 12:17:04 AM
im pulling for the kobe's to come back
5/3/2007 12:19:06 AM
Nash's team won 4 games to 1.....But it is ALL because his team is so much better.
5/3/2007 11:58:52 AM
Packboozie - last time I checked the Suns have Amare - All world power forward Marion - All Star NBA small forward, and 2nd team NBA All defense Bell - 1st team NBA All Defense Barbosa - NBA Sixth Man of the yearName one other player on the Lakers besides Kobe with any accolades, please. Exactly
5/3/2007 12:19:35 PM
^Nash has nothing to do with any of those guys getting those awards. Who passes them the ball? You keep telling yourself that.People WANT to play with Nash.....they don't want to play with Kobe. That is why his team sucks ass.[Edited on May 3, 2007 at 12:30 PM. Reason : V Nothing but most of those are offensive awards plus offense is your best defense. ]
5/3/2007 12:28:29 PM
Tell me, what exactly does Nash have to do with these players getting on all defensive teams? Is that why Garnet's team sucks too?[Edited on May 3, 2007 at 12:30 PM. Reason : [][]
5/3/2007 12:29:48 PM
hahahaah, ohhh thank you andymac. exactly. Nash might help them get their points on offense, but he sure doesnt do anything for their INDIVIDUAL DEFENSIVE AWARDS
5/3/2007 12:39:26 PM
One word...Marion
5/3/2007 12:53:13 PM
One sentence... Kobe is now watching THE MVP from home...on T.V
5/3/2007 2:13:07 PM
well, he'll watch him play tonight anyway.
5/3/2007 2:33:34 PM
I wonder if Kobe will be wearing his 3 NBA Championship rings while he laughs as the Suns prepare to lose to San Antonio
5/3/2007 2:34:30 PM
I dont think Kobe will being the one laughing since the Suns just beat "him". Mike and Mike were hating on Kobe on the radio this morning, saying that he drove Shaq out of town and now he wants a new all-star on the team?If you can't get along with Shaq, it is very doubtful you're going to get along with anyoneWhat an idiot(and rapist)
5/3/2007 3:35:43 PM
Shaq's got just as big an ego as anyone in the league. He's just funny and non-threatening enough that no one pays attention to it.
5/3/2007 3:38:01 PM
But he can back up that ego cause he's a freak of nature, and wins championship ringsWith Kobe, AND without
5/3/2007 3:39:10 PM
at least Kobe won a game this playoffsShaq can back up his talk so much that he gets swept by an EASTERN CONFERENCE TEAM WITH NO CENTER
5/3/2007 3:46:13 PM
without kobe but with five other stars wade payton antjuan walker zo jaywill and about 5 other good players who are now worse than the lakers with just kobe. SHAQ IS SOO GOOD and suns arent all nash. when nash goes out they still hit shots. nash just makes the ofense dynamicer .the team is loaded. who all saw bell setup barbose on the pump pump pass 3 and barbosa got another one all when nash was on the bench.
5/3/2007 3:49:33 PM
Haha, considering Big Ben is still a defensive force. Shaq and D-wade were injured, but you're right, the reigning champs did get swept, though I don't think anyone had them going far...The point is Shaq was more of a reason the Lakers had a three-peat than Kobe wasThen Kobe couldn't stand having someone else in the spotlight getting attention, and ran Shaq out of town, who happend to win ANOTHER ring with D-wade in a very weak Eastern Conference. Now Kobe wants another all-star? Who's gonna get attention and get run out of town again?
5/3/2007 3:49:56 PM
You take Nash off the Suns and they fall apartJust like Dallas fell apart when Nash leftoh wait
5/3/2007 3:50:49 PM
5/3/2007 3:51:09 PM
Nash has been on two teams, both wil all-stars loaded on them. The point is that Nash can connect the all-stars and make them play in-sync, which I consider pretty hard to do in the NBA, where team play is rarely found. Kobe will score a lot of points and "get his", while Nash will contribute a solid amount of points, yet make everyone around him work better and together
5/3/2007 3:53:22 PM
^^^People hate on Jordan because of gambling controversy...So yeah, your reputation and what you do off the court has a lot to do with fan support[Edited on May 3, 2007 at 3:55 PM. Reason : v]
5/3/2007 3:54:49 PM
Who exactly is Kobe supposed to make better? What all stars is he supposed to connect on the Lakers? The Lakers (aside from Kobe) have ZERO All Stars...the Suns (aside from Nash) have AT LEAST 2 (Marion, Stoudamire)...so again your comparison is null^but people dont hate on Jordan's basketball abilities because of his off court shiti hated redick in college but that doesnt mean i didnt acknowledge that he was an awesome shooterim not even a kobe fan...but game recognize game[Edited on May 3, 2007 at 3:59 PM. 5/3/2007 3:55:11 PM
I'm going to say first off that I did not see the game so I'm only going based on what I see in the box score. But it appears Nash didn't even have a good game last night.5/15 shooting from the field. And 10 assists with 7 turnovers (a bad ratio by any PG's standards). If I had to guess, I'd say Phoenix might have had some help from Amare and Marion who combined for 53 points, 26 rebounds, and 5 steals. If Phoenix still wins even when Nash has bad games, that should tell you something.I hope for all your sakes that Phoenix doesn't choke against the geriatric Spurs.[Edited on May 3, 2007 at 4:32 PM. Reason : a]
5/3/2007 4:31:52 PM
they willTony Parker will show Nash a little something about being a point guard
5/3/2007 4:37:08 PM
Y'all are haters. Just ask yourselves, how many players in the history of basketball are capable of scoring 30 points in one quarter? His ability to completely take over a game is second to none (at least active players anyway).
5/3/2007 4:47:45 PM
5/3/2007 4:52:07 PM
I think Nash's 12 assists in 1 quarter last year is more impressive than 30 pointsYou can score points in bunches if you get hot; look at Mike Finley with 8 threes last night12 assists results in at least 24 points and requires teamwork where you could take 20 shots in a quarter by yourself if you never passed
5/3/2007 4:58:23 PM
5/3/2007 5:00:32 PM
Look at it this way.Hypothetically let's say the Bobcats won the #1 pick in the draft lottery. And we traded the the rights to Greg Oden, Adam Morrison, and our other #1 pick for Kobe Bryant. (which the Lakers wouldnt do b/c Kobe is too valuable...)You can say with near certainty that we'd be Eastern Conference favorites next year. Now if we made the same trade for Nash (which of course we wouldn't because Nash isn't valuable enough to make that deal) how good would the Bobcats be? We'd definitely make the playoffs but we'd be lucky to win a single playoff series. It's just really doubtful that we'd be better than Washington, Miami, and Cleveland.... and theres no way we'd be better than Detroit or Chicago. So even by your odd definition of MVP (most "important" to his team) Nash still isnt the MVP in this scenario
5/3/2007 5:01:08 PM
Give it up already. No disrespect to you man, but you're really exhausting this conversation by repeating yourself over and over and over again. I'm not tryin to be rude, so don't look at it that way.
