I don't care that they're going bankrupt. I care about HOW they decided to go bankrupt. I mean, by your reasoning if a suicide bomber decides to blow up a few people and himself, we shouldn't care about what he did because "he's not here anymore"
4/5/2008 6:30:05 PM
so are they giving refunds or what?
4/5/2008 6:33:07 PM
there's a difference between some people being out a few bucks and some people being out of their lives.if im struggling to maintain my business, but i have to shut down unexpectedly, you can be damn sure i wont give a fuck if i piss off some pussy ass people in the process.what incentive would they have to conitue to operate when they have no money toa.) pay their employeesb.) pay feul costsc.) maintain their aircraftif i know this is the case, and i know that it's due to an airline "shutting down in 30 days"you'd be damn sure i'd be cancelling anyways and be rebooking elsewhere.
4/5/2008 6:34:43 PM
Fuel prices have been rising for years now. They knew damn well they were going down the shitter for a while now and couldn't have the decency to inform the public so that the public could make a better decision as to who would be more stable to fly to attend a brothers wedding/ receive important medical care/ attend the births of loved ones/ ect. ect. To excuse them completely from how they handled this situation is ridiculous. And you sir, if you knew damn well that you were closing your doors tomorrow and waved to your last customer who's depending on you for something important by saying "see you tomorrow!", then you too would be immoral and dishonest.
4/5/2008 6:41:30 PM
4/5/2008 6:43:59 PM
Hey tard, did I say that I knew they were going down the shitter? Or did I say THEY?
4/5/2008 6:47:25 PM
how could you NOT see this coming? i mean really[Edited on April 5, 2008 at 6:48 PM. Reason : obviously tard = YUO]
4/5/2008 6:48:07 PM
You're right. I guess it's sorta like how you look in the mirror each morning and are completely misguided in the thought that you are cool and that people actually WANT to be friends with you, rather than just tolerating you.
4/5/2008 6:50:07 PM
you need to go to church or something
4/5/2008 6:51:14 PM
i mean i can understand how you'd be upset for having your flight canceled...i guess next time just pick a more reliable airline
4/5/2008 6:52:48 PM
I love that people are acting like the SkyBus should care about its customers. Its called the business world people. Not every world is nice comfy ole Raleigh. Sometimes out there ya get fucked, and not in the good way. If I owned a company, I have no reason to be loyal to my customers if I was a company this young other than trying to take as much money pre banq as possible from idiots who wanted and thought they could get a $10 ticket in todays world.
4/5/2008 6:56:19 PM
I need to go to Vegas. Is there a website aside from priceline that has some low priced tickets ??
4/5/2008 7:42:23 PM
jet blues been doing a lot of specials to vegas for 89 bux.
4/5/2008 7:51:11 PM
maybe jetblue could absorb Skybus' fleet?
4/5/2008 8:21:21 PM
thats what i'm wondering.....i would think another airline would make a bid for them
4/6/2008 11:44:56 AM
"the fleet"I doubt they owned any of the airplanes. They are probably already repainted and being used elsewhere.
4/6/2008 1:11:16 PM
Most businesses do not let the word get out when they are about to close up because everyone freaks and starts stealing shit.My friend used to work at they Darryl's that was on Glenwood. She worked there for a long time, about 5-6 days a week. One day she showed up for work and the building was locked, there was a sign in the door saying "thanks for your business....blah blah we are now closed".Needless to say she was fucked by that since most of the money she made was in tips. I think Skybus had a very innovative business model. The only problem I saw was no one wanted to fly to/from the airports they serviced. That and you cannot even get 3.5 gallons of car gas now for $10. ]
4/6/2008 2:18:31 PM
that and the fact that they weren't really cheap. this was a scam airline. i wonder if they got sued for false advertisement.
4/6/2008 2:21:05 PM
4/6/2008 2:22:00 PM
I just had to call my CC company and dispute the charge. I just think it's ridiculous that they emailed me Thursday to say that my flight time was changing (for a flight in July), and they go out of business not even 12 hours later. They didn't bother to send an email about the situation until 2 this afternoon either.
4/6/2008 3:00:28 PM
What sucks is everyone who does not have the money to buy another ticket has to wait until that dispute process completes and then their CC company or bank will give them the money back. I bet some people who don't have any money laying around are getting royally screwed by this.
4/6/2008 3:30:50 PM
you can still pay 50 bucks and fly standby on usAirways or jetBlue.... they'll guarantee a destination within 100 miles or something. i'm sure info can be found online.

Yeh that whole deal with the dance team sucks. Them and the cheerleaders are the only top 10 teams in the nation that we have. It looks as though they may miss their national competition too, just like all of our Varsity Sports. When it rains it poors!
4/7/2008 12:15:23 AM
4/7/2008 12:51:52 AM
I mean an entire team costs money to feed. They can't go to Florida with absolutely no money.
4/7/2008 1:04:20 AM
^^That's what I was thinking too, so I guess my $10 donation at the FSU game went to buying them dinner maybe? It kind of gives a new meaning to blind dating. [Edited on April 7, 2008 at 1:23 AM. Reason : .]
4/7/2008 1:22:15 AM
The entire dance team is like 26 people, coaches included. Go find the nearest fast food place with a dollar menu. I'm not trying to be an ass here, I'm just saying that if they are all about competition then suck it up and try to make ends meet for at least the rest of this season. That or have a bikini car wash.
4/7/2008 1:40:45 AM
^lol! Good Idea! I would have to go to that.
4/7/2008 1:42:47 AM
yeah fast food is just what our dance team needs
4/7/2008 1:44:02 AM
IHOP and Waffle House aren't too bad price wise.
4/7/2008 1:45:13 AM
Half the dance team has an eating disorder...no joke..
4/7/2008 1:48:44 AM
^How do you know? Do you hang out with them? That's kind of ironic if true. As far back as I can remember there is always at least one who is a nutrition major[Edited on April 7, 2008 at 1:52 AM. Reason : .]
4/7/2008 1:51:02 AM
^ i do know one who had one (not sure if she's gotten over it yet) and is on the team. she is also a nutrition major, ironically.
4/7/2008 9:57:46 AM
^WOW! I can't believe they could survive with problems like that. I read in the school paper that they have to run 2 miles everyday and practice for 3 hours M-Th.
4/7/2008 10:37:06 AM
4/7/2008 10:45:55 AM
^^ she'd been doing it for years from what i recall. i always thought the weird thing was that she was majoring in nutrition, but to each their own. i know she was trying to get over it a few years ago, never found out if she actually did though.

^^^Greyhound bus sucks. My mom had her flight to Columbus Ohio delayed because of weather, so she checked into greyhound and it would have cost $121 and taken 15 hours to get there. My dad and her drove to Columbus in 8 hours.
4/7/2008 12:31:23 PM
4/7/2008 2:38:54 PM
Put up or shut up for card companies
4/13/2008 1:51:58 PM
^Luckily my dispute through Chase for tickets I purchased to Daytona over July 4 week has been approved. But now I guess I'll spend 1 day of my vacation on the road instead of flying.
4/14/2008 11:21:59 AM
I love how it says Wachovia is the worst one.
