OK, I'm officially stumped on what the hell that thing is. It looks a lot like an Australian XB Falcon, but the rear window isn't pointed and the shape of the rear/taillamps is wrong. The shape of the rear window and roofline are almost identical to the Australian P5 LTD Brougham, but again, the tail isn't right. And I'm guessing that's a custom grille/headlights which doesn't help matters at all. All the characteristics of an Australian Ford of the early to mid 70's are there...but it seems not to be correct for any of them and the surrounding cars in the 2nd shot look mostly American...grrrrr. The roofline is also very similar to the '70-'71 US Torino. But it ain't one of those for a variety of reasons.[Edited on February 20, 2007 at 6:39 PM. Reason : s]

Saab Sonett, more specifically a Sonett III.There's some dude who lives off of Peace Street who has one. I was surprised as all hell when I passed it while out for a run one day. Hadn't ever seen one in person before. And I feel like I've been tricked on 48...I knew there was some customization going on but not to that level (the chopped top with flat glass is what really threw me).
