Game at noon vs. Ecuador on ESPN2:HowardCherundolo Conrad Onyewu BocanegraDempsey Feilhaber Donovan BeasleyChing Johnson
3/25/2007 10:17:50 AM
Feilhaber!I guess they're starting to tune the back four for Copa America, but DeMerit and Simek need some cappage, yo. ]
3/25/2007 10:20:09 AM
haven't seen ecuador in action since germany, looking forward to see how they've progressed
3/25/2007 10:21:21 AM
^^ I thought the US had decided to play their "B" team at Copa America and focus on the Gold Cup, like morons.[Edited on March 25, 2007 at 10:36 AM. Reason : .]
3/25/2007 10:35:53 AM
i almost forgot about these 2 games this week...[Edited on March 25, 2007 at 10:37 AM. Reason : nvm]
3/25/2007 10:37:15 AM
damn, alreadynice start for the US
3/25/2007 11:11:10 AM
45 seconds.
3/25/2007 11:11:40 AM
Great save Timmay!
3/25/2007 11:14:56 AM
Ecuadorian goal. Onyewu didn't look too good there. Both defenses aren't playing too well.
3/25/2007 11:27:21 AM
Both defenses look bad, but the US is getting the ball up to the 18 and then losing all of their momentum. The blue kits look much better on the field; I wouldn't mind so much if we had a proper red shirt.
3/25/2007 1:00:14 PM
^ but Canada and Trinidad already have red I think a red-and-white stripes would look good, but that's already taken by Paraguay and Chivaslets go with a color not associated with anyone else: brown
3/25/2007 1:08:04 PM
two goals in a minute and landycakes has a hatty
3/25/2007 1:35:00 PM
lol awesome minute there
3/25/2007 1:35:15 PM
two awesome goals in a minute
3/25/2007 1:37:15 PM
thank god landon has showed up in 2007. he was shit last year, but the team as a whole is playing well this year...they said earlier in the broadcast that landon wasnt sure if he would go play both tournaments in the summer, but he better damn well be there for copa america when we play argentina
3/25/2007 1:38:43 PM
I would have bet money Beasley was up at east village last night. Any reason he would be jet setting around like that or am i just a drunk?
3/25/2007 1:46:34 PM
well he's in tampa right now playing..
3/25/2007 1:48:43 PM
hence the question
3/25/2007 3:44:20 PM
are you suggesting that that was a dumb question?!?!?!?!?!?1//1/1/1!?!?!
3/25/2007 9:34:03 PM
landon said he wants to be with the galaxy upon beckham's arrivali think landon realizes he could be up for some major international exposure around that time, and is looking to seize the opportunity
3/25/2007 11:35:43 PM
opportunity #2
3/26/2007 1:02:14 AM
I don't feel like digging up the article now, but I remember one major European paper said that Landon's performance against Liverpool in the Champions League was the worst ever performance in the tournament. Granted, that's epic hyperbole, but it's also a pretty good summary of his first go at the big leagues.
3/26/2007 2:03:14 AM
like bill walton calling a pass the "worst in los angeles clippers hihstory"

Dear Bob,No Eddie Johnson tonight please.Signed, Me
3/28/2007 7:35:36 PM
^sorry
3/28/2007 7:56:56 PM
I know we don't have many forwards but damn, how many chances is he going to get? He has been absolutely worthless every time I've seen him lately.
3/28/2007 8:00:19 PM
"he is stuck in a big ol' slump"
3/28/2007 8:11:28 PM
perfect example of how worthless EJ is, shouldve been a goal
3/28/2007 8:14:34 PM
Keller does one of his trademark "goal kicks to the other keeper".
3/28/2007 8:22:17 PM
Is Rob Stone saying "the States" every 30 seconds annoying to anybody else?
3/28/2007 8:23:53 PM
^ no.
3/28/2007 8:24:20 PM
^ oh, ok.
3/28/2007 8:28:31 PM
Guatemala's defense is doing a good job of shutting down the USA near their goal, but they're not challenging us at all really.
3/28/2007 8:38:34 PM
Unrelated to the game, but I just now saw the pictures of what Red Bull Park will look like and it looks sweet as hell
3/28/2007 8:46:09 PM
i thought Keller retired after the World CupI think Mapp will take over in the 2nd half
3/28/2007 8:56:17 PM
I hate Ruiz.
3/28/2007 8:57:04 PM
he did take some weak divesRed Card Yellow Card, what is this bullshit? and what a lame face Wynalda made before the break
3/28/2007 9:01:44 PM
the Red Card/Yellow Card segment is the only highlight of watching USA soccer games....
3/28/2007 9:07:15 PM
that stadium is baller. i'd really like to see soccer get bigger in the us, even though i don't know shit about soccer myself. i'm certainly willing to get into it.
3/28/2007 9:11:59 PM
^^yeah i agree they've outscored their opponents 8-2, beat Mexico...but i'd much rather prefer hearing Eric Wynalda's thoughts on Seff Blatter[Edited on March 28, 2007 at 9:13 PM. Reason : a]
3/28/2007 9:12:29 PM
games like this with wankers diving left and right looking like a bunch of pussies is one reason why soccer isn't popular in the US. they need to start carding diving a lot.
3/28/2007 9:15:59 PM
^ i agree. the dives/flops in soccer are possibly the most annoying thing in all of sports to me. although it's not international soccer's job to make it appeal more to americans.
3/28/2007 9:30:26 PM
^ it would help though if they took out cheatingLook at the NBA. They're having an issue with some players flopping for fouls. A coach of one team is calling them to be banned for life. Now that'll never happen. But it just shows a difference in mentality. South American and African soccer fans by and large will tell you straight up that flopping is a part of the game and you have to deal with it. When you have people with that opinion...
3/28/2007 9:36:03 PM
^^they've been carding for this for a while, at least in big tournaments like the World Cup, etcit might not be applied as strongly to friendlies like this thoughbut i agree, it breaks up the rhythm of the game, and its hard to watch if your opponent is constantly falling on the ground[Edited on March 28, 2007 at 9:37 PM. Reason : ^]
3/28/2007 9:36:33 PM
Passing on:
3/28/2007 9:50:20 PM
granted though, if you remove Kasey Keller, our average age would be somewhere around 15we played a young squad tonight, on purposewe still should have picked up the win, but come qualifying things will be differenti'm glad we got away from players that we've seen for the last few years, its good to see some fresh faceswhatever happened to Santino Quaranta?
