Stop trolling. No one is posting shit in your Braves thread.Anyway, I'm excited for Ollie's first start of the year. He is the most important guy in the rotation. We know what Glavine and El Duque can do,I have full confidence Maine can be an above average #3, and Pelfrey will be what a #5 is supposed to be (a body that pitches). Then there is Perez, who can pitch himself out of the rotation by May or be an Ace as a #4. Frankly, I don't see any in between for him. He'll either be in AAA by May or be a dominant 2004 type pitcher. I'm hoping it's the latter.Anyway, this series isn't all that important as far as the rest of the year but it's always fun when both these teams are good and there are 15,000 Mets fans in Turner...[Edited on April 6, 2007 at 12:08 PM. i'm sorryi really shouldn't be talking so poorly about the met's rotationi mean with two studs like pedro and zito holding things dow--er, wait...[Edited on April 6, 2007 at 12:21 PM. Reason : 15,000 fans and 14 banners OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH]

Hey, how many tickets are left for tonight? I mean it wouldn't be a Braves home opener (or playoff game) if you couldn't walk up 10 minutes before the first pitch and buy a dozen tickets. Also, what time are they going to be raising the 2006 NL East Division Winning pennant? Is the game going to be delayed at all for it? I'm leaving work at 4 so I'm hoping it will be a bit later..[Edited on April 6, 2007 at 12:28 PM. Reason : eh, works out better phils are shittier than the braves.. more people to argue with on here atl fans]
4/6/2007 12:28:00 PM
that would be an excellent point...if there were statistical evidence to back it upin terms of percentage capacity, the mets were ranked 13th last year (the yankees were 7th lol), the braves were 16thnew york has 5x the metro population of atlanta and they still can't sell outanyways, this is sillymet me in the ted, it's going down
4/6/2007 1:28:51 PM
Haha.. you went and tried to use facts.. I'm going to stick to stereotypes and baseless accusations if you don't mind..

Dropped 2 in ATL this weekend, and they're back on top of the NL east after a year.Maine's on the mound vs. Hamels and the Phillies.
4/9/2007 10:08:57 AM
No big deal. Frankly, I think the Mets outplayed the Braves in that series and the only guy in the pen that looked dominating was Soriano. We just never got the big hit. I didn't see anything that would convince me that the Braves are the better team.. if we pitch half as well as we have been we win the division going away.Gotta fire up the mlb.tv at work today if I can..[Edited on April 9, 2007 at 11:24 AM. Thats it Mets, focus on how you beat the Phillies with a horrible bull pen but lost 2/3 to the 2007 WS champion Braves.
4/10/2007 3:26:22 PM
Eh, I guess that's how Perez is going to be. Completely own a pretty good team one day and then pitch like hitting the strike zone is against the rules the next game.[Edited on April 12, 2007 at 11:24 AM. Reason : ^ did they change it to a 10 game season this year?]
4/12/2007 11:23:26 AM
two things i can't wait to see:shea close it's old ass cookie cutter self\new yankee stadium pwnt whatever piece of shit the mets put up
4/12/2007 11:26:01 AM
david wright sure does like waiting until his last at bat in the 9th inning to keep his hitting streak going!
4/12/2007 11:34:58 AM
...to be as talented as david wright and still be the second best third baseman in your city.
4/12/2007 11:36:26 AM
... and talk like a woman
4/12/2007 11:44:15 AM
make that the third best third basemanderek jeter is a better third baseman by default because he plays shortstop
4/12/2007 11:50:15 AM
I heard Jeter and A-Rod were bragging about all the hotties they had banged...apparently they each thought THE hottest hottie that each of them had ever banged was each other
4/12/2007 11:56:07 AM
^ ha ha. A-Rod is off to a great start, but Wright is still an awesome player for his age. Wright will be the elite 3B in baseball in a few years (unless Garrett Atkins continues to develop at his rapid pace which would make him and Wright about equal).Perez's mechanics were jacked up last night. Even the Phillies manager said that. He was falling all over the mound.
4/12/2007 12:02:31 PM
yeah its pretty hard to diss on A-Rod's season so far...he has been killin itbut he didnt have anything last night for Ortiz!
4/12/2007 12:06:54 PM
Jeter is the third best shortstop in the city for real though. A-Rod is one of the best SS ever and Reyes is clearly the better all around player right now. Not saying Jeter isn't great, because he is a HOFer, but RIGHT NOW he isn't in Reyes' class defensively and Reyes might very well have a better season than Jeter has ever had..I'm actually not trolling here. I mean it's absurd to say Jeter is a better third baseman than Wright but it's not absurd at all what I'm saying..[Edited on April 12, 2007 at 12:13 PM. Reason : x]
4/12/2007 12:13:08 PM
kiss the rings.i believe that is all jeter has to sayor perhaps he'd like to talk about his game 3 2000 WS first pitch homerun
4/12/2007 12:17:33 PM
lets talk about how they were up 3-0 on boston and had the worst meltdown in sports (with 7-game series) history[Edited on April 12, 2007 at 12:18 PM. Reason : ps: go twins!]
4/12/2007 12:18:12 PM
^^^ I agree. Reyes is the best SS in baseball right now. A-Rod was a better SS than Jeter when he played SS.[Edited on April 12, 2007 at 12:19 PM. Reason : Jeter is overrated]
4/12/2007 12:19:16 PM
Jeter isn't too overrated in the postseason
4/12/2007 12:20:10 PM
jeter is a true yankee though
4/12/2007 12:23:05 PM

or Wright, since he is going to triple Dimaggio's streak come ~September
4/19/2007 4:28:00 PM
Best record in baseball right now at 10-4 (71.4 winning %)
4/19/2007 11:37:02 PM
Take 2 of 3 and we aren't looking back. All statistics point to the Mets dominating the league again so far this year. The Braves are playing over their heads and winning close ones while the Mets are just plowing people.
4/20/2007 11:37:01 AM
The Mets look unstoppable right now. As a Braves fan, I hope the lack of pitching depth catches up with them. The Braves may be playing over their heads, but the bats have been non-existent and they are bound to hit better so they do have room for improvement.
