the worst part about the bcs is that everybody has to play this pathetic brinkmanship game between playing teams good enough to get them to the NC yet not scheduling any losses. it doesn't just fuck up the NC for 2-3 teams, it fucks up the whole season for every program top to bottom.that's right, i blame BCS (and the bigger failures it replaced) for bringing us tosu versus bowling green, michigan versus ball state, texas versus rice, and auburn versus buffalo.
11/9/2006 11:50:51 PM
Zeb I agree 100% i just wrote a huge post about how fucked up the BCS is on another thread i am on.
11/9/2006 11:53:49 PM
espn is retarded, if michigan wins in the horseshoe, they would be expected to win on neutral turf... a rematch is more likely if michigan loses, cause they had to play on the road... if you are gonna HINT at a rematch, which i dont think should happen, get the reasoning right

^^ya but since osu is much further ahead of 3 in the bcs they think they have a better chance of falling less.

If Arkansas beats Tenn, LSU, and UF in the last 4 games and don't go to the MNC over 1 loss Texas or the loser of the UM/OSU game the entire system is even more of a sham. I didn't realize how tough that Arkansas schedule is.One thing though. Should USC win out (I think Cal blows them out personally) can it be justified to put 1 loss Arkansas over 1 loss SC, since they beat them by 36 so early in the year? Question of the year right there.I'm rooting for Arkansas and Cal because Arkansas is the 'underdog' and Cal is the team that is playing the best in the country RIGHT NOW.[Edited on November 11, 2006 at 10:49 AM. Reason : Texas loses tonight. They are so overrated and played NO ONE outside of OSU..]
11/11/2006 10:48:40 AM
what would be some bullshit is if UM, who has given ND and Wisconsin their only losses. loses to OSU by 1 or 2 and a shit team like Texas or USC gets in insteadNot to mention Florida is pretty weak
11/11/2006 5:53:13 PM
my boss is a die hard notre dame fan and thinks they can still make the championship game... no.......... cause you got killed by michigan at home so even if notre dame runs the table they don't get in over a 1 loss michigan (should they lose to osu)... a 1 loss osu team will get in before you too b/c of points... and IF florida runs the table you won't get past them too... phish you disagree?
11/11/2006 10:55:05 PM
It can happen. ND got fucked out of a NC chance in '93 when FSU got in ahead of them even though ND beat FSU that year and they had the same record.. it won't happen but it can..[Edited on November 11, 2006 at 10:56 PM. Reason : nd needs a TON of help and needs sc to win out until thier game..][Edited on November 11, 2006 at 10:58 PM. Reason : ahah. though i did post that ut would lose i also said cal was the best RIGHT NOW ]
11/11/2006 10:56:01 PM
PRECISELYarkansas has played a whole lot of fluffy BS teams though, so im not buying their schedule through today
11/11/2006 10:57:48 PM
in 93 there was no bcs. that was voter BIAS, computers don't have that
11/11/2006 10:59:05 PM
the BCS has voter bias built into it, not to mention all sorts of other biasi think its very far-fetched to have ND playing in the title under any circumstances and I am not acknowledging it as possible at this point
11/11/2006 11:00:03 PM
he also said quinn has a shot at heisman should michigan beat osu... now thats true... if michigan wins and Hart has a good day then its a toss up between quinn and hart
11/11/2006 11:01:16 PM
i dont really care about the heisman, but i would imagine hart is way behind smith/quinn in this thing

11/12/2006 5:52:55 PM
hah. I got the top 5 right but 6-10 screwed me over.
11/12/2006 5:57:10 PM
very interesting
11/12/2006 6:23:28 PM
i thought fox did some official release or something?glad it leaked, fuck those idiots, college football sold it soul to the devil by signing that deal
11/12/2006 6:27:26 PM
11/12/2006 6:33:25 PM
BCS is gay...boise should be ranked above USC because USC lost to oregon state and boise killed them and is undefeated (i dont know if i really believe what i just said but its funny to think about)
11/12/2006 7:14:40 PM
if you really did believe that, you should probably stop watching football
11/12/2006 7:21:16 PM
I like how in the USA today poll, rutgers is 8 and wvu is 7, that makes a ton of sense. i don't care if you don't think that they should be that high, or higher, but there is no way that wvu should be put ahead of rutgers at least at this point.
11/12/2006 7:28:28 PM
THE BEARS ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE!!!
11/12/2006 7:39:21 PM
heres why you dont do a rematch.if michigan wins in the shoe and then loses in glendale how cna you say ohio state is better and not split it?
11/13/2006 11:23:54 PM
cause its all about whos the best at the END of the season, thats why you would say ohio state could be better
11/13/2006 11:33:36 PM
but when you beat a team you expose yourself to that team and i would say mcih is better cuz they beat them on the road.[Edited on November 14, 2006 at 10:59 AM. Reason : you should have to be your conference champion after that oklahoma game]
11/14/2006 10:58:10 AM
how could oppose a rematch with how good that game was
11/19/2006 11:08:54 AM
fans of any other 1 loss team?
11/19/2006 12:46:34 PM
The coaches poll BARELY dropped Michigan from 2 (they are 3). They are right behind SC. SC had a harder schedule and will be #1 or 2 in the computers if they win out but my guess is that the Harris will keep Michigan 2 or barely drop them to 3.There is a good chance UM will be #2 THIS week but will likely get jumped by SC if they win out. If SC loses there is a rematch, rendering the 'game of the century' completely meaningless.[Edited on November 19, 2006 at 12:57 PM. Reason : eh, I'd watch it still I'm sure though I don't like the idea.]
11/19/2006 12:54:48 PM
11/19/2006 2:26:23 PM
Michigan is #2 in the AP. If they don't finish ahead of USC in the BCS, then split national championship here we come!^ objectively I'd agree but according to the computers, which is the only thing that really matters, USC's is harder, and will only get harder with ND and UCLA (whom the computers love). I guess you should go out and buy your Irish gear for next weekend![Edited on November 19, 2006 at 2:33 PM. Reason : V EVERYBODY is.]
11/19/2006 2:31:20 PM
is anybody else tired of this computarized faggotry and ready to see a fucking tournament?
11/19/2006 2:32:36 PM
I just hope we don't have to see notre dame get slaughtered in the NC

If USC lucks up and wins out, Meechigan is screwed.
11/19/2006 4:17:37 PM
nearly 50 days between your last game and your bowl game, anyone else think that is absolutely ridiculous? plenty of time to fit in a 8 or 16 team playoff thats for damn sure
11/19/2006 4:22:10 PM
goddamn i hate the bcs
11/19/2006 4:25:05 PM
goddamn i hate usc
11/19/2006 4:26:19 PM
^^8 team, I liek the idea of 16, but they say then it becomes "survival of the fit".... but isn't that what a tournament is suppose to be?
11/19/2006 4:26:49 PM
^ but you forget, apparently our Div1-A athletes all have glass jaws. Nevermind that the 1-AA guys do it. Gotta protect our big time moneyathletes
11/19/2006 4:34:35 PM
11/19/2006 4:44:54 PM
While I dont like the idea of a rematch in the title game, if we are comparing simply mich and usc then all I have to do is see who each team lost too and I give the nod to michigan.
11/19/2006 4:54:45 PM
I don't think it's that simple. You have to look at who they beat collectively too.Michigan has a great win against ND and a quality win against Wiscy. Yes, I do think Wiscy is simply a decent team. They had such an easy schedule. USC would have beaten a great ND team, a great Arkansas team (yes, I realize they weren't at 100% but it was CONVINCING), and also have wins against quality teams like Nebreska and Cal.I think it will be close. Either way I don't think you can complain (other than the fact that there SHOULD be a playoff).[Edited on November 19, 2006 at 4:58 PM. Reason : x]
11/19/2006 4:56:54 PM
oh if usc wins out... definitely give it to them... they had plenty of schedule for it. i mean that..... so im a notre dame fan for one week
11/19/2006 8:45:54 PM
id rather for USC to beat ND and lose to UCLA
11/19/2006 8:58:30 PM
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/BCSStandingshas anyone mentioned wiscy getting an at large bid?
11/19/2006 9:16:57 PM
that would obviously mean 3 big ten teams in BCS games
