kill all students... problem solved

I only remember one game last year where there were problems with overcrowding . . . VT, and that was because more people were allowed into the game than were supposed to be when the students rushed the gate. You can just drop the crap with going back to the old system . . . as has been said 1895421390592754 times, athletics has spent too much money for the current system to go back.
9/26/2006 5:38:27 PM
i still say a hybrid of the two systems is the solution.still do online claiming and all. but either pick up printed tickets from reynolds OR do a hand stamp or bracelet for those on the lower level.
9/26/2006 5:41:15 PM
Why would they do a hybrid? The whole reason athletics was interested in the online system was so they wouldn't have to staff a window. Also, Stafford and others are opposed to having to physically show up on campus to get tickets because it put students that won't make the effort at a disadvantage.
9/26/2006 5:46:48 PM
3 questions to be eligible for tickets:1. Who was Philip Rivers and what was his number?2. T/F When the home team is on offense, the crowd should make as much noise as possible.3. Why is there no yellow line on the field?
9/26/2006 5:57:38 PM
lol at 3
9/26/2006 6:09:34 PM
That stems from this sorostitute asking me where was the yellow line at a game last year.
9/26/2006 6:18:05 PM
what was the reason for them not letting people into sections 6 and 7 during the game?
9/26/2006 6:27:14 PM
overcrowding perhaps?
9/26/2006 6:30:59 PM
They claimed they were at capacity but there were plenty of open spots. The main probably I saw was people coming in late and thinking they should be able to cram into first few rows.heck, the cops in the section were more worried about trying to catch people with airplane bottles than anything else.[Edited on September 26, 2006 at 6:36 PM. 9/26/2006 6:31:40 PM
Exactly. Fuck safety! Who has illegal liquor? As this rate, the only thing that's really going to make a difference on the issue of overcrowding is a combination of too many people standing on benches and a touchdown leading to a serious injury (with reduced accessibility to the injured as a result of overcrowding as icing).
9/26/2006 7:18:16 PM
hah, I sat at the end of one of the rows in section 7 and had plenty of room to begin with. By the end of the game, so many people had crammed into that row that nearly everyone had to stand sideways. Needless to say that I nearly broke my neck on that game winning touchdown since I forgot that I was already standing on the edge of the bleacher.

hah. I honestly believe that 90% of those people are incompetent. They kept bringing up the fire code and whatnot when we asked. who knows.and stamps are the only 100% foolproof plan cause it can't be reproduced or given to someone else.[Edited on September 26, 2006 at 8:24 PM. Reason : ]

9/26/2006 10:33:02 PM
yeah, but luckily we have enough time to get the word out if need be...and the people at the entrance to 7 & 8 last saturday had never worked those sections before...the only 2 people who had were in dark blue polos, and they are the top two guys for event one (now called staff one)...and one is a dick and the other was really helpful---as much as he could be at least

PRINT VOUCHERPICK UP TICKET FROM REYNOLDShey yo can i get a consulting fee for my solution
9/26/2006 11:55:23 PM
i think it's a great fucking ideaand give people from 10am-2pm Wed/Thurs/Fri to pick them up. that way the window isn't open too long (saves money) and there's no worry about people skipping class in order to get tickets[/problem]
9/27/2006 12:04:32 AM
it's the whole printing on a real ticket that costs more money, which is why I doubt it will ever go back to that...
9/27/2006 12:53:55 AM
any idea why the tix request function isnt working?it's been 55 minutes and still error messages

i came up with that LAST year guys...the problem is the paper tickets that athletics would then have to print off would add even more money to this system.its a simple idea, bracelets as you enter that determine what section you are in, if u dont have a bracelet u dont get in...how hard is that (or a stamp, whatever)
9/27/2006 1:13:48 AM
People also need to realize that there is more to life then section 7 and 8. I sat in the new endzone and it was great. I've sat everywhere in the stadium and there is no really bad seat. People could just sit where they are assigned...?
9/27/2006 1:15:26 AM
yeahhh i saw no problems like that in section 8. it wasn't even full, really

Ironic because ticket thieves like Will Quick are one of the main reasons why we have this new crappy system.
