12/14/2006 10:00:57 PM

12/14/2006 10:10:19 PM
#6- use ROP formula, use 98% to find z value(1-.02), then its just plug
12/14/2006 10:52:11 PM
# 16 is B - 40# 17 is C - 80

i wish farve was teaching when i was in undergrad...i met him at a supply chain resource consortium dinner and he is a cool guy. warsing is also a great supply chain professor if any of you run into one of his classes, you will learn a lot.
12/14/2006 11:36:23 PM
# 4 should be B - 83. (60 + 2.33*10)
12/14/2006 11:51:11 PM
can you explain where those #s came from?would it be 30 units avg wkly demd2.33 from finding (1-.01) --> .9901 on the z chart to get 2.33 and 10 as std dev of demand?[Edited on December 15, 2006 at 12:02 AM. Reason : hmm]
12/14/2006 11:56:08 PM
yup, 30*2 and then 2.33 from 99% and 10 as std deviation.

12/15/2006 12:29:26 AM
# 18 a reqd = 250 unitsto get a you need b and cb = 250 unitsc = 500 units (twice reqd to get A = 2* 250)to get b you need 3 E's = 300 * 3 = 900 .................(1)to get c you need 2 E's = 600 * 2 = 1200................(2)(1) + (2) = 2100!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!if this doesnt help you...there's an example in the book.....pg 467!!!![Edited on December 15, 2006 at 1:33 AM. #8 is D -100 because of min. order 100 even though net requirement is 80.
12/15/2006 3:27:37 AM
17 is not 80 because you have a minimum order of 100, even though you need 80, you have to order 100
12/15/2006 7:42:57 AM
post what you got for the exam, since were the only class for favre
12/15/2006 11:42:56 AM
answers are up on vista
12/15/2006 12:09:07 PM
i missed 2 (90%)...why is it 2100 and not 2400 for that one?
12/15/2006 12:38:55 PM
yeah why isnt it 2400? also, why is it 2 and not 50 ?
12/15/2006 12:50:08 PM
For number 3, EOQ is how many units you get in one order. So if you get 50 units in one order, and demand is 100 units, the answer is 2 orders a year
12/15/2006 1:19:50 PM
Arrghhh!!! Too bad we can't get partial credit for #3. I wonder how many put down 50 for the answer?
12/15/2006 2:57:40 PM
suckers, i read the question carefully and put 2...he got me (or i got myself) on that one where the answer was 15.3 (i put 15 instead of rounding up to 16 )i still dont get how you get 2100 and not 2400...
12/15/2006 3:03:16 PM
i put 50 tooDICK
12/15/2006 4:03:25 PM
for #14 you calculate it using the planned order releases, not the gross requirement
12/15/2006 8:21:12 PM
WHY?
12/15/2006 10:41:16 PM
he is such a pimp... grades are already up - why can't every professor be this good?
12/15/2006 11:34:23 PM
he's the best...this guy makes the Supply Chain/Ops concentration a no brainer, not to mention Bozarth who's also awesome
12/16/2006 12:12:49 AM
Good, I have hom next semester...I hear it's a lot of work, though...
