It sounds like many have had miserable relationships with their ex's due to their infedelity/lack of trust/or just being plain psycho. I was fortunate enough to have found someone who was great girlfriend material and it did not work. It just seems difficult to believe that so few have had amicable break ups. I will assume that you did not love the other person, or the relationships were immature and meaningless.

Has anyone ever got back together with their ex? I just got out of a relationship, mainly because she graduates this semester, and I was wondering how often people get back together with their exs'
8/15/2006 7:26:16 AM
i have a few times. it doesn't really work out in the long run it seems.
8/15/2006 7:52:56 AM
8/15/2006 8:34:18 AM
no, she broke up with me, before the summer she wanted to stay in raleigh when she graduated. She changed her mind and felt she needed to be single now to become more independent/see the world/live on her own.

Why the hell would you want an ex back?Didn't you break up for some reason?Jesus, people. Grow some spines.
8/15/2006 1:14:32 PM
So you're telling me that you've never ever regreted breaking up with a person. Or realized that your love for them outweighed the reason you broke up. You just forge on ahead not thinking about the mistakes you or your ex made. Sounds like someone is gonna die alone.
8/15/2006 2:40:40 PM
and after a very satisfying lunch, i can answer that evermag, usually it's b/c the reason that they broke up was relatively petty or inconsequential in scope or meaning. or they are the ones that fucked up or didn't particularly want to end it.that said, you do need to move on after a break up. most of the time if you are on the receiving end you have to quickly come to the realization that they broke up with you for a reason. So instead of pining away for someone that doesn't particularly want you, you'd be better off getting out there and attempting to find someone new (prefferably better). some couples go through a break up - try new people - realise that the new people suck - get back together routine. unless they have completely crushed you or you no longer have intrest in them then by all means persue getting back together if the other is amiable to it.
8/15/2006 2:42:11 PM
^^ No, I really haven't. I've had three fairly amicable breakups. We just realized we weren't right for each other. Sometimes that's all a breakup is. I never "fucked up" a relationship by doing something stupid, so no, I can't really say regretted breaking up with someone.

10/10. i did a ex-gf thread in chitchat. perhaps i should have just piggy-backed off this one.
8/15/2006 3:32:19 PM
I want mine back, but only the first one, not the kleptomaniacal sociopath.
8/15/2006 7:08:20 PM
i don't want any of mine back. i didn't seriously want any of them to begin with, for that matter (which is kind of unfortunate...i've never gotten to date anyone that i really, REALLY liked and had more than a casual interest in). i'm not on bad terms with any of them--i'm either friends with them, or just have no contact with them at all (but not because of any bad terms).[Edited on August 15, 2006 at 9:56 PM. 8/15/2006 10:58:51 PM
^^ That was my second thoughtThe first was that maybe "she's just not that into you"
8/15/2006 11:02:32 PM
no, thats not case, we were together for a year. I didn't see her all summer and things just kinda fell apart long distance
8/15/2006 11:44:51 PM
i bet you the cock she was getting on the side was of a local variety
8/16/2006 2:41:17 AM
ohhh man, your such a tough guy, talkin shit on the wolf web
8/16/2006 7:23:48 AM
Things fell apart cause she's interested in someone else- there's really no way around it.When a girl says she needs time to "find herself"/"see the world" there's another cock in the hen house. I thought this was common knowledge.Sorry
8/16/2006 8:07:13 AM
very distinct possibilitythat or she's far more interested in another guy(s) than you right now...

the woman needing space and independence thing could be true. honestly, you never know.
8/16/2006 10:51:24 AM
until you see her with some guys cock in her hand/mouth/vag
8/16/2006 10:52:16 AM
The fact that your ex, is involved with someone right now shouldn't bother you. Especially if you're seeing someone right now. She's doing the exact same thing that you are doing. Still sucks to think about it though.
8/18/2006 9:26:45 AM
8/18/2006 9:30:07 AM

Well when you compare every new girl you meet to the ex you can't get over, like The Cricket, it's hard to view any other girl as anything but a "downgrade".
8/18/2006 11:12:24 AM
8/18/2006 11:18:13 AM
Sorry pal, you shouldn't have done that and now she's off with some other guy who doesn't want to break it off with her. What did you learn?Besides, it is irrevelant who called it off. You want her back and she doesn't want you back. It's time to get over it.[Edited on August 18, 2006 at 11:21 AM. Reason : .]

^ reminds me of the baseball scene in family guy where stewie trades a foul ball for a commemorative bat, then procedes to beat the other child with the bat and takes the ball back and says "now what did you learn"
8/18/2006 11:29:11 AM
Now that I think about itI'd motorboat the shit out of her.
8/18/2006 11:44:36 AM
