One of the funniest things I can remember, was when Bob Vance came to one of the parties, and nobody had met him yet, and he went through a line of like 3 people and kept introducing himself to each as "Hi, Bob Vance, Vance refridgeration" and then after he says it to Ryan, the last one, Ryan, in such a serious tone and look goes "So Bob, what kind of work you in?"

btw, the actual explanation of this was cut out, but Vance Refridgeration is the business next door to Dunder Mifflin. You can see the company's logo on the door in some shots of the elevator.

I'm actually really excited about this season.

My sister has a little dance she does to the opening credits. I just bob my head back and forth and bounce up and down. It's a happy show.

God damn it, did they move it to a different time slot?

Completely missed it.

The NBC two minute recap helps, but I'm still pissed.

That's how good the show/Carell is. The character is hilarious, but you hate him. Anytime you start to feel a little bit sorry for him, he proves that you shouldn't.

Best show on TV. There. I said it. All appoliges to the folks over at Scrubs, now the second-best show on TV.

You're not supposed to like Micheal, but you're not supposed to really hate him, either. His motives are nowhere near evil, just incredibly misplaced. Most of the time you just shake your head and feel sorry for him; he can't see himself as everyone else does.

I think you are supposed to like Michael - this is one of the big differences between the US and the UK versions. I think David Brent was really supposed to be hated - there's hardly anything redeeming about his character.
but michael, on the other hand, is likeable, he's just an blumbling idiot. He very rarely does something mean or hurtful on purpose. He really does want to be liked by his workers (unlike David Brent, who i think would stab any of them in the back at any moment).

What I really dig about Michael is that every once and again you get to see how he got where he is. Like taking Tim Meadows to Chili's or scoring that account who was exclusive with staples out of the clear blue.

Still, if you knew him in real life, you'd hate him.

What they said in the commentaries, and where the difference between the original show and season 2 and onward of the American show is that the comedy comes from Michael's enthuasm instead of his meanness. This makes him a lot more likeable, even if he is still fucking everything up.

Well, I'm not saying that he's unlikeable to the audience, but as a character in the show nobody likes him because of his complete idiocy/intolerance. I love him and think he's hilarious, just like Dwigt.

Did anyone else get the impression that something happened in the hotel room when Michael was with the guy from Hammermill? They said that account was exclusive to Staples, but they show Michael in a hotel room drinking with the rep, then they next show Michael telling about how he scored that impossible account, if you watch again how he said it, it was almost like he was ashamed of how he got iit. With the whole gay thing last week, do you think Michael might have had to blow the guy or something to get it?

i think that toby was emotionally crippled by the divorce. i think it is intended to think that he wasnt always this broken. he was always probably a little weak hearted but not completely broken.

oh and is creed getting alzheimers or something? i didnt really get his part.

^ no, i think the idea with creed is that he, purposefully, is the office outcast. he doesn't interact with anyone, and doesn't even pretend to know anything about his coworkers, even their names (referring to Merideth last season in The Complaint in something like "Why do I have to look at the red-head. i want to sit facing the Receptionist".

The reason he's acting this way is 1) he, as a character, is trying to get to know people in the office because, 2) the writer's discovered he was comedy gold, so they're writing him in more.

his comment about Angela, something like "every office has to have a bitch" is obviously well known to us, the audience, and to his coworkers as well. But it adds to his total f-ing weirdness that he's all of a sudden coming out and making these observations that everyone else has known forever. And when he introduced himself to Merideth, of couse she was like "yeah, no shit - i know who you are. I sit right beside you", but to him, he's just now branching out.

I got the vibe that he was just unahppy at that moment and totally didn't care the he'd scored this deal. He was just like, "Yeah, whatever..." That, and he was trying to be cool by pretending it was no big deal.

He's a dork. This is what dorks do.

(I just remember how it cracked me up in the episode two weeks ago when Meredith was eating the hand sanitizer to catch a buzz.)
