this episode has the most one-liners....creed's was fucking good

One of the funniest things I can remember, was when Bob Vance came to one of the parties, and nobody had met him yet, and he went through a line of like 3 people and kept introducing himself to each as "Hi, Bob Vance, Vance refridgeration" and then after he says it to Ryan, the last one, Ryan, in such a serious tone and look goes "So Bob, what kind of work you in?"
9/23/2006 6:11:09 PM
btw, the actual explanation of this was cut out, but Vance Refridgeration is the business next door to Dunder Mifflin. You can see the company's logo on the door in some shots of the elevator.

I'm actually really excited about this season. My sister has a little dance she does to the opening credits. I just bob my head back and forth and bounce up and down. It's a happy show.
9/23/2006 6:54:56 PM
God damn it, did they move it to a different time slot?Completely missed it.The NBC two minute recap helps, but I'm still pissed.

The more I watch this show, the more I genuinely dislike Michael. Still love the show though.

Michael walking around in the Microsoft Office polo was pretty funny.
9/29/2006 11:09:07 AM
^ I noticed that too. It was a nice touch.
9/29/2006 11:09:36 AM
9/29/2006 11:27:43 AM
^^^^ i always think the opposite of michael... once i start to dislike him, he randomly does something really nice or shows his sweet/sensitive side and then i like him again
9/29/2006 11:59:28 AM
You're not supposed to like Micheal, but you're not supposed to really hate him, either. His motives are nowhere near evil, just incredibly misplaced. Most of the time you just shake your head and feel sorry for him; he can't see himself as everyone else does.
9/29/2006 12:01:37 PM
I think you are supposed to like Michael - this is one of the big differences between the US and the UK versions. I think David Brent was really supposed to be hated - there's hardly anything redeeming about his character. but michael, on the other hand, is likeable, he's just an blumbling idiot. He very rarely does something mean or hurtful on purpose. He really does want to be liked by his workers (unlike David Brent, who i think would stab any of them in the back at any moment).
9/29/2006 12:05:33 PM
What I really dig about Michael is that every once and again you get to see how he got where he is. Like taking Tim Meadows to Chili's or scoring that account who was exclusive with staples out of the clear blue.Still, if you knew him in real life, you'd hate him.
9/29/2006 12:07:03 PM
What they said in the commentaries, and where the difference between the original show and season 2 and onward of the American show is that the comedy comes from Michael's enthuasm instead of his meanness. This makes him a lot more likeable, even if he is still fucking everything up.
9/29/2006 12:12:00 PM
Well, I'm not saying that he's unlikeable to the audience, but as a character in the show nobody likes him because of his complete idiocy/intolerance. I love him and think he's hilarious, just like Dwigt.

9/29/2006 12:36:06 PM
i think the toby-pam scenes from last night were the highlights for me, absolutely hillarious
9/29/2006 12:43:20 PM
Toby-Pam made me immediatly think:
9/29/2006 12:44:20 PM
9/29/2006 2:53:44 PM
^ Yes...I thought he probably took one for the team to get that account.
9/29/2006 3:01:14 PM
^ that's exactly what I thought, with the ashamed manner in which Michael let Jan and the others know....if he had done it legitimately you know he would be loud and boisterous about it
9/29/2006 3:09:46 PM
Thats so faggy
9/29/2006 3:25:54 PM
9/29/2006 3:29:46 PM
^ no, i think the idea with creed is that he, purposefully, is the office outcast. he doesn't interact with anyone, and doesn't even pretend to know anything about his coworkers, even their names (referring to Merideth last season in The Complaint in something like "Why do I have to look at the red-head. i want to sit facing the Receptionist". The reason he's acting this way is 1) he, as a character, is trying to get to know people in the office because, 2) the writer's discovered he was comedy gold, so they're writing him in more. his comment about Angela, something like "every office has to have a bitch" is obviously well known to us, the audience, and to his coworkers as well. But it adds to his total f-ing weirdness that he's all of a sudden coming out and making these observations that everyone else has known forever. And when he introduced himself to Merideth, of couse she was like "yeah, no shit - i know who you are. I sit right beside you", but to him, he's just now branching out.

^ exactlyhe even said that he was still with carol, his real estate agent[Edited on September 29, 2006 at 3:46 PM. Reason : clarification]
9/29/2006 3:45:35 PM
hmmm, maybe, but them showing Michael sitting on the a bed drinking Cosmos with the dude is making me think otherwise.
9/29/2006 3:46:35 PM
^^i agree with the first parti don't think michael would ever be able to pretend to be cool by acting like he didn't care though. he was just sad like you said.
