Look, people are nice everywhere.

A good example would be this past Tuesday. Someone broke into my car and stole my stereo. While I was waiting for the cops and cleaning up some of the glass everyone that walked by said something to me. Most said they were sorry to see it. One guy gave me advice of a good junkyard nearby (for a new window), a few neighbors gave me a time reference of when it happened (like they saw my car at a certain time, and then when they saw it later it was busted) and one guy even went back to his apt and got me a big sheet of plastic to cover up my window. I'm not saying this wouldn't happen down south, it probably would.

Another time I got a ticket for being 1-2 ft too close to the fire hydrant. When I came out and saw the ticket my one of my neighbors said he didnt' realize it was my car, and if he'd known that he would have gotten me so I could have moved it before getting a ticket.
Its just perception I guess.
