^^^ My fondest memory is the double shutout he had against Weekes in the most boring game I have ever seen at the RBC. Shutouts can be ridiculously exciting, but this game was TERRIBLE.

Frankie Kaberle signs for 4 more years. Glad to have him back.http://www.carolinahurricanes.com/news/news.asp?articleid=1562

He makes me nervous from time to time, but I refuse to argue with a Stanley Cup-winning goal.

I'm sending off my red jersey to get Kaberle's name and number put on it.

Awful

not exactly the old ble and goldman that is horribleit's what you'd get if these two mated:
6/27/2006 10:05:18 PM
as a person who was a sabres fan for 5 years THIS IS FUCKING STUPID the gold sucked ass. the b/w is great, the red used on occasion was awesome. fucking uniforms arent buffalo's problem. they dont have a fucking problem, they should have a good season next year.[Edited on June 28, 2006 at 1:19 AM. This is a great uniform: The new logo looks like a buffalo fucked a slug and their baby is humping an invisible egg.
6/28/2006 3:38:41 AM
That logo blows.
6/28/2006 8:10:02 AM
better than the new ducks logo.
6/28/2006 11:18:03 AM
The new Sabres uniforms are about eleventy times better than the new Ducks uniforms.

what will the NHL be like next year? same exact rules?will the officiating continue to tighten? will the NHL further what they did, or scale back the changes?i need speculation or articles or something. because more of last year would mean great things for our franchise. [Edited on June 28, 2006 at 1:23 PM. Reason : 2342]

The rules will remain the same and continue to be enforced the same way they were this year. The only change is the salary cap has gone up, as it fluctuates according to the previous year's revenue. I would expect to see more teams adapt to the changes and would expect a very competitive year, especially in the Southeast division.

They talked about changing the delay of game for clearing it over the glass back to the way it was (when only the goalie got a penalty for it), but in the end decided it was fine since everyone supported it including Buffalo and Carolina, who both had one called against them in a Game 7.
6/28/2006 3:59:03 PM
its always funny watching the players point up in the air when it happens, and then the oposing teams fans just get that sinking feeling[Edited on June 28, 2006 at 4:03 PM. Reason : 234234]
6/28/2006 4:03:18 PM
Some rules still may change...I've heard the "goalies can't play the puck in the corner/trapizod" deal may change in addition to the one previously mentioned.

Nashville didn't qualify Danny Markov and he is a UFA come saturday.
6/28/2006 7:09:07 PM
OMGOMGDANNY MARKOVPLZ TO SIGN
6/28/2006 7:13:56 PM
^didn't he get traded because he didn't want to play in carolina anymore?
6/28/2006 11:43:05 PM
Nope, he loved it here, and still has a home in Raleigh. I read that during the lockout he trained some with Vasicek and Wesley.
6/28/2006 11:49:20 PM
I think Wesley gonna retire, so I guess Markov will replace him. I'm not as high on Wallin as most people are. If we lose him, I don't think it'll be that big of a deal. Ward is higher on the priority list IMO.
6/29/2006 12:09:04 AM
any news on the prospects in the system? I know Jack Johnson is going back to college. What about Nate Hagemo and Casey Borer? I would like them to go to AHL and play a couple of years to get ready. Which team is gonna be our AHL affiliate next year? I know Lowell will not be.
6/29/2006 12:12:24 AM
new ducks uni's ? link ?
6/29/2006 12:15:07 AM
Markov practiced with the Canes during the lockout and during some of the informal practices before the season. I saw him with my own eyes. He's fast, plays great D, and can score when needed. He's also one funny motherfucker.

^^^^ We are sharing the Albany River Rats with Colorado
6/29/2006 8:49:35 AM
Borer is at St. Cloud State and might stay for another year, depending if we invite him to camp. Same with Hagemo except he is at Minnesota. We did sign Brett Carson, who played in Calgary with Ladd. Another 6'4 220 lbs defenseman. If nothing else he should give us depth in Lowell. Jack is the wildcard on defense next year, I don't know where to seperate fact from fiction on this one, I certainly hope their isn't as much bad blood as I have heard.

jordan: you aren't gonna "do the same" unless the penguins hire someone to play defense.

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/col/story/429766p-362344c.htmldon't know if it's been posted before, but Dan Patrick and Keith Olbermann ranted on Karmanos for being a "douchebag" and a "scumbag", and that he was mean to the Hartford fans. i guess they're still pissed that CT's team moved. what would possess someone to spew such kind of shit?
6/30/2006 7:53:13 AM
Hurricanes pick up the option on Mark Recchi for $2.28 million.http://nhlpa.com/WebStats/PlayerSearchV2.asp?OIDTeam=8362
6/30/2006 9:36:35 AM
damn, that's expensive considering Erik Cole is coming back.
6/30/2006 9:55:37 AM
wow
6/30/2006 10:27:35 AM
That's actually a pretty good price considering the way things are looking around the league so far. Its scary seeing some of these guys getting 6 and 7 million a year.I'm assuming the 'Canes also have a good idea on players that expect to sign elsewhere (like maybe someone wants to head closer ot home or something like that) so they are going ahead and filling the spot.[Edited on June 30, 2006 at 11:01 AM. Looks like the Canes will be spending a little more money this year. Glad to see it. If you keep the product good, the fans will reward you.
