hopefully McMillan and Wright get to speak with each other and Lowe during the Nike All-American Camp. it'd be nice to see a pic of all three talking together.
7/8/2006 4:43:36 PM
i read an article in the paper about how North Carolina was losing homegrown basketball talent and other places were putting out more talent. Chris Paul was the last N.C All-American, which is pretty recent, but think of the other names that were from N.C...Tommy BurlesonDavid ThompsonMichael JordanPhil Ford...the list goes on
7/8/2006 5:57:06 PM
N.C. holds its own against the highly populated NY and Cali just fine. i'd say we're one of the best especially considering the population disadvantage to those two.

I'm liking Lowe the more, and more I read about him. Here's to hoping he becomes a great college coach to match how great of a guy he seems to be.
7/10/2006 10:25:28 AM
i am really liking the dedication lowe seems to be showing at this point. atleast from what the media is saying he is doing everything in his power to get the right guys to come to state.
7/10/2006 10:26:09 AM
McClain is one of the top centers in the country from what i understand. like #4. would be sweet if we could get a highly touted Center to go a long with Thomas, and possibly Wright and McMillan.
7/10/2006 10:31:47 AM
McClain's profile hasn't been updated on scout.comthe nbacamp review on rivals has McClain considering an offer from us:
7/10/2006 2:01:56 PM
wow, I'm loving Lowe right now
7/10/2006 2:45:04 PM
he may be the new kid on the block, but he's at least getting his name out there, and in good fashion too. in a perfect world i would have ESPN cover the first game in UVA's John Paul Jones Arena, and Lowe's first game as head coach. the games would both have a good story, and even if both UVA and NCSU were drubbing some weak teams, it would be good to cover just b/c of how excited the fans in the arenas would be. i want Dick Vitale to come here, not b/c i particulary like him, but b/c it would most likely mean a nationally televised primetime game, and it would be that much sweeter for all the world to hear Dicky V finally slob someone's knob besides K and Roy.
7/10/2006 5:43:50 PM
^Have you listened to Vitale cover a game in the past few years? It doesn't matter where he is or who's playing, he always turns the talk toward Duke or UNC.
7/10/2006 5:56:30 PM
^yeah true. he could be covering the annual international turtle race and still find a way to work in UNC and Duke.
7/10/2006 5:58:28 PM
not to mentioneverytime he mentioned NC Statehe had nothing but praise and good things to saybut lets bitch about UNC and Duke more
7/10/2006 6:12:32 PM
Wright to State is the worddddddddddddddddddddddddcheckin packpride for details, im gettin a link here in a second if I can get one, heard it from a few players that hes recommitedcould be false but all signs point to yes[Edited on July 10, 2006 at 6:23 PM. Reason : damn, damn broke it before me in chit chat]
7/10/2006 6:21:09 PM
oh i respect Dicky V for talking good things consistently about State. what most people have a problem with is that it seems like he brings up Duke or UNC almost every time he does a game.
7/10/2006 6:21:36 PM
Wright to NCSU is huge if true!
7/10/2006 6:22:44 PM
haha, Herb who? I cant wait to see how Wright (and other ATHLETIC players) develop in Lowe's system
7/10/2006 6:33:48 PM
assuming its true
7/10/2006 6:39:25 PM
please let it be true.....please let it be true
7/10/2006 6:43:58 PM
im doubting the truthity on this one. not to say he won't end up here, but not yet I wouldn't think.
7/10/2006 6:51:47 PM
Hope you're (W)rightGuessing your Wrong. If so, that came out of the blue
7/10/2006 6:54:15 PM
dang, yall sure do care about some ncsu basketball
7/10/2006 7:13:27 PM
I think the wright to state news is bogus. He recently updated his profile and put Pittsburg at number 2 on his list which bumps us down to 5. Also, he said he was still planning on visiting more schools so it doesn't make sense that he would have committed already. Hope he does come to state but I'm not getting my hopes up yet.
7/10/2006 7:15:40 PM
suckers
7/10/2006 7:27:45 PM
according to his site we are now #4 I believe butttttttttt according to guys veryyy close to the team, he is to visit next week...not sure how credible that is but I know that Lowe has been talkin to him alotttttttttt lately and we should see us be bumped up on his site very very soonthis also coming from guys who saw Gavin and Trevor in Florida with NBA scouts gettin their game to where it needed to be at a camp down there, same camp that a few draft picks were at pre-draft i.e. Diaz[Edited on July 10, 2006 at 7:35 PM. Reason : d]
7/10/2006 7:31:14 PM
I hope you're right. he's still got us at #5 on Packpride though.
7/10/2006 7:33:03 PM
^ If you're referring to the schools he's listing, we are #5. They are in alphabetical order by interest level. (We're the 3rd in Alphabetical order with "Medium" interest). Those "interest levels" are completely bogus for the most part. They're rarely updated and aren't usually correct unless the guy comes out and proclaims he has a clear leader. I get the feeling Georgetown is going to be hard to beat
7/10/2006 8:03:50 PM
one of our assistant coaches used to be a coach in the dc area, so he probably knows the local schools and has some ties with the local coaches

sendek vs lowe for McMillanhttp://www.newsobserver.com/122/story/459422.html
7/11/2006 10:25:49 AM
I like our chances with McMillan.
7/11/2006 6:40:23 PM
yeah definitely. the kid's a legacy here. pluses for us: father played here, family has house here, the McMillans have family here, has been to a ton of bball camps since he was a kid, nate and sid are friends, plenty of playing time, etc. negatives for us: he currently lives in Seattle and might like to go to school at UDub with some of his hs classmates, it is Sid's first year so he might want to be coached by someone more established in the college game, etc.isn't Nate's jersey honored in the rafters?[Edited on July 11, 2006 at 11:28 PM. I thought McMillan was a lot better than this.... #97? if we dont get him who really cares... any PG who is ranked that low isnt anything special
7/11/2006 11:29:05 PM
McMillan is the #15 PG in the nation and a 4-star recruit according to the scout network. rivals also has him as a 4-star recruit and the #12 PG in the nation. i'd love to have McMillan.[Edited on July 12, 2006 at 12:28 AM. Reason : ]
7/12/2006 12:19:36 AM
scratch what i said about him going to UDub. according to PP he has a "No Interest" level under his profile of schools.
7/12/2006 12:30:57 AM
recruits can change rankings dramatically their senior year, i wouldn't put too much into the ranking
7/12/2006 9:27:31 AM
You take a guy like Jamelle because he's a player and legacy. Sure I wouldn't be behind a guy that sucks that's a legacy, maybe as a walk-on...but Jamelle can play.
7/12/2006 10:38:22 AM
He's a 4-star NOW, but if he commits...watch him drop to a 2-star....Fuckin' Chuck Norris
7/12/2006 11:00:20 AM
JT3 may be on to something about Wright, some guy on packpride yesterday ( Hulan Pickett) a recruiting expert says that we are "strongly in the picture for wright".this guy also broke the news about wrights initial committment about a week before it was made public.Damn im pumped, get this guy back and we are well on our way.
7/12/2006 11:28:30 AM
The Wright race is far from over, Hulan was just saying that regardless of what you read(ie. publications saying we're in 4th or 5th) we are right there with georgetown. I am feeling good about him though, it would be huge to get him back in the fold.

7/12/2006 12:13:19 PM
if you're over 7'2" i dont want you on my bball team. unless you are unlike every other freak, you are ucoordinated, slow, weak, and a liability besides the occasional blocks and put back dunks.
7/12/2006 2:22:03 PM
^see Luke Schensher
7/12/2006 5:17:11 PM
^^ alright since you don't want them I guess I'm stuck with Ralph Sampson, Yao Ming, Shawn Bradley, and Tommy Burleson...One amazing college player, two very good college players, and one good professional off the top of my head...[Edited on July 13, 2006 at 3:16 PM. Reason : a]
