There's a huge difference between a fan of the opposing team and a troll. Boobs was trolling for fun, but maximus and mshaul were just spouting bullshit, both pre- and post-loss.
6/3/2006 6:09:12 PM
I don't really remember maximus sticking around long, then again, we did dominate that series from game 1
6/3/2006 6:46:02 PM
^^well since you including me in your post i wouldn't want to disappoint, GO EDMONTON!Oilers in 6
6/3/2006 10:39:34 PM
^YOU TROLLING ASSHOLE............(now it feels like a playoff thread )
6/4/2006 12:04:07 AM
anyone have the link to that hockey bracket thing?
6/4/2006 12:18:31 AM
Canes in 5.
6/4/2006 1:36:16 AM
I really have no idea how this series is gonna turn out, i wouldn't be surprised if the canes swept, i wouldn't really be surprised if edmonton swept, and i certainly wouldn't be surprised if it went 7 games
6/4/2006 2:16:24 AM
yeah i feel the same way.^^that would be ideal, goin to game 5!!1
6/4/2006 2:20:52 AM
I wouldnt be surprised if we won in 3 games. Edmonton gets killed in a plane crash before game 4.
6/4/2006 2:34:47 AM
where would they be flying to between game 3 and 4?
6/4/2006 2:44:06 AM
Canes in 6.
6/4/2006 3:07:59 AM
^^lol.
6/4/2006 3:41:05 AM
If we play like we played the last two periods of game 6 and all of game 7 in the Buffalo series, we will not lose. butI had a dream that Cam Ward gave up an "own goal" sorta cause he cleared the puck backwards into the net and gave up another goal right after the face-off...and I was really really pissed. dont ask why I just posted that, but its true.

^ On the downside, we're losing players next year.On the upside, we at least can offer some more money to keep them.
6/4/2006 12:17:31 PM
what if we were able to draft Staal's brother?
6/4/2006 1:27:59 PM
^ Would that be like drafting Michael Vick's brother? This is the first time that the Stanley Cup Finals will have two franchises that were formerly in the WHA.
6/4/2006 1:44:44 PM
Staal's has like 3 younger brothers... all of which are pretty damn good.Marc was drafted last year by the rangers somewhere early in the 1st round... but hasn't yet made the jump to the NHL yet. Only Staal that plays on defense. He'll end up on the Rangers roster eventually... but he probably wont ever be a star. nevermind on that. He will be a high scoring defenseman... but wont be great on the defensive end unless he bulks up. By not being a star... I meant compared to his brothers, all of which are pretty much at the top of their classes and will be top scoring line centers.Jordan Staal is in this years draft... and a likely top 5 pick. He's definitely behind Erik Johnson, who right now is the clear number 1 player in his class... but he could go anywhere between 2 and 6. We probably will see 3 Staals in the NHL next season, as Marc will probably make the jump, and Jordan is likely to be an instant impact rookie. Many think that the youngest of the borthers, Jared Staal, will end up being the best... but a lot can happen between now and when he's drafted... he's not even 16 yet... Will be in the OHL next year.[Edited on June 4, 2006 at 2:17 PM. Reason : talk about a hockey family.]

There's nothing out of the ordinary about a defenseman not going straight to the show. Even four to five seasons is considered normal.

game 1section 305, row pgo canes
6/4/2006 3:42:38 PM
You also need to realize that Marc was in an incredibly deep draft class.
6/4/2006 3:53:54 PM
^^ Yeah, but regardless of talent, defensemen are never going to get the draft hype that forwards do. There's perhaps one defenseman in every class with the ability to jump straight to the show, and he gets all the hype that might be spread amongst 3-4 NA forwards. In previous years it was JJ and Cam Barker...in 2003 it was a muddle of Suter, Coburn, and Phaneuf, and it just so happened that Dion's got the size and composure to dominate first.Defensemen who are taken in the top 15 are seen as projected top four guys at the very worst. Same goes for goaltenders taken in the first round and starting potential. This is an odd discussion to put in perspective because all of the Staals are so good; Marc could potentionally be the worst of the four in the league and still be an all-star way down the line.

6/4/2006 8:47:04 PM
lets see, you vanished after page 6 of a 25 page series thread, only poking your head up to post a picture after the Devil's one win in the series. Oh Man, after my two years on tdub you think I would get over this n00b thing.
6/4/2006 8:49:01 PM

6/4/2006 8:50:21 PM

6/4/2006 8:52:21 PM

6/4/2006 9:49:50 PM
there are 72 people in Wyomming??
6/4/2006 10:06:41 PM
some of the 72 probably thought it would be funny to lie and tell espn they are from wyoming.[Edited on June 4, 2006 at 10:07 PM. Reason : fdsh]
