secondary is the strength. by farRBs are good but young, QBs all depend on Aingelost a lot of the O-Line but OT Arron Sears is a fucking stud, probably a top 5 O-lineman in the country. The WRs SHOULD be the best in the fucking country judging on potential but none of them have done anything near what they should be able to...lost 3/4 of the D-line, but they are always deep as shit there.Rico McCoy is going to be the fucking man at LB

7/22/2006 2:06:18 PM
knew that would draw you out...
7/22/2006 2:13:27 PM
I'll go to any UT games that don't conflict with Statelet me know which ones we can all go to againI had a blast last year
7/22/2006 2:14:25 PM
going back for Cal and FloridaCal is your best bet to get a ticket, State is playing App. St. that week so you wont miss anything here
7/22/2006 2:21:32 PM
UT shouldn't have any problem beating Vanderbilt this year. That had to be embarrasing.
7/22/2006 2:23:58 PM
yeah, that was just stupid, they had given up by that point
7/22/2006 2:26:37 PM
I can't miss the first game
7/22/2006 2:28:02 PM
I watched that game, and I think they just got outplayed. Tennessee made some poor coaching decisions last year that appeared to stem from them not knowing what their talents were.
7/22/2006 2:28:14 PM
yeah, they were totally clueless last year, no clue what was going on. Biggest reason Sanders was fired and Cutcliffe was brought back.^^ app. state doesnt even count as a game... and we can get relatively cheap tickets, Cal doesnt travel that well and they returned some of their tickets[Edited on July 22, 2006 at 2:30 PM. Reason : d]
7/22/2006 2:29:48 PM
then again, I thought Amato was clueless at State the first half of the season when he didn't punt on first down. Only after an additional 30 yards worth of holding penalties and sacks did we finally get to punt or turn the ball over.[Edited on July 22, 2006 at 2:32 PM. Reason : sacks]
7/22/2006 2:32:30 PM
I still can't miss game onewhats the next game Ic an attend?don't we have some thursday games?
7/22/2006 2:34:28 PM
The Florida game is week 3, State plays Southern Miss. in Miss., put tickets wont be cheap. I think Crawford is going back for the Cal game
7/22/2006 2:42:43 PM
we'll figure somethingoutwhat about on a thursday game
7/22/2006 2:45:40 PM
7/22/2006 2:51:06 PM
um, whatever that means
7/23/2006 4:18:41 PM
nobody cares about Tennessee Footballand Fulmer is a pretender coach.[Edited on July 23, 2006 at 4:44 PM. Reason : .]
7/23/2006 4:44:42 PM
yeah, Tennessee has a really small, unsupportive fan base, you are totally right.and Fulmer has a shitty record
7/23/2006 5:42:57 PM
wow, thanks for the big time support CFN... considering that garbage that was Tennessee Football last year. Ranked #10 is crazy. Of course, 2 of the first 3 games are to teams they have ranked 9th and 10th, great way to start the season 10. Tennessee Predicted Finish: 9-3 2005 Predicted Finish: 9-2 2005 Record: 5-6Why Tennessee should be No. 1 ... There are few teams in America that can match the overall speed and athleticism of the 2006 Vols, but all the skills have to translate into better overall play and, of course, wins. The offense can't be any worse, and should be a force with new/old offensive coordinator David Cutcliffe taking back his offensive coordinator job. The running backs can fly, the receivers are even faster, and the line is bigger than more NFL front walls. If quarterback Erik Ainge is merely competent, and the defense can avoid falling off the map after losing six of the starters on the front seven, Tennessee will be back to being Tennessee. Why Tennessee isn't No. 1 ... Did you watch Tennessee last year? It's asking a lot for all the top recruiting classes to pay off in a big way on defense with six of the starters on the front seven needing to be replaced including the entire linebacking corps. It might also be asking the world for Ainge to be night-and-day better.Relative Strengths: running back, receiver Relative Weaknesses: linebacker, offensive line
7/26/2006 4:11:39 PM
#10 and still 4th in the SEC

Something a friend of mine wrote up in his blog... I agree with most of it, although I have Cal as a definite loss and Florida as one of the "maybes"I see a lot of people writing about college football. Right on cue, I will now chime in with my preseason thoughts on Tennessee.1. The "rogue" program image is overblown. Yes, Tennessee has had quite a few players arrested for various and sundry offenses, some more severe than others. But the real problem would be if Fulmer left those guys on the team. As it stands, of the 4 that have been arrested recently, 3 are pretty much off the team and 1 probably will be eventually. In fact, another player that was "virtually" kicked off the team for misbehavior was Brent Schaeffer, and he's being lauded as the savior of Ole Miss football. My message to Fulmer - keep kicking people off the team, even if they are good (like Oklahoma did to their QB). This crap will stop eventually.2. Tennessee is rated appropriately to start the year. I'd put Tennessee in the bottom of the top 25 or into the "others receiving votes" category. Why? They went 5-6 last year, so you can't rate them any higher. But 3 of their 6 losses last year came by a combined 8 points. Cutcliffe over Sanders has to be worth at least that much, which would have made the Vols 8-3 last year (which in turn would have put them in the top 15 this year). A happy medium is good for me.3. The game I worry about most is the first one. Why? Cal is pretty dang good. A win here would put the Vols firmly in the top 25. A blowout win would probably put them in the top 15. A loss would be demoralizing, as hard as these guys worked in the offseason. A blowout loss would probably ruin the season. Not to mention the fact that the SEC needs to prove itself against the PAC-10 after Auburn and Arkansas couldn't do anything vs. USC the past couple of years.4. Who is going to be the next great player? Even in bad years, the program produces some great players. Who is going to be the next no-name to step up and be the budding superstar? There's a lot to choose from here, but my vote will go to Robert Meachem on offense and Demetrice Morley on defense. Mark my words, if Meachem can stay healthy, this offense will move with no problem. And Morley, in his second year, could make a huge impact as a nickel corner/safety. With Tennessee's history of injuries in the secondary, he could be the one that stabilizes the defensive backfield.5. Which freshman will have the biggest impact? I'm cheating a little here, as he's a redshirt freshman, but I'm going with Montario Hardesty. He looked better than Arian Foster last year before he got hurt. I think the two of them could be Tennessee's version of thunder and lightning in the backfield this year.6. Who is the X-factor player? Lucas Taylor, hands down. He should return every kick and punt this year, and I'm expecting him to be at least as good as Nilo Sylvan (except without the whole sexual assault problem that Nilo had). He should probably catch a couple of passes, too, since Randy "Let's put in Lucas Taylor at wide receiver so the defense knows we're running an end around" Sanders is gone.7. What will Tennessee's record be this year? 9-4. The losses will be to Florida (my pick for the SEC East this year, as much as it pains me), LSU (my pick for the SEC West), and two of Georgia, Cal, and South Carolina. Tennessee will end up in the Outback Bowl and beat Minnesota from the Big 10.

8/4/2006 3:13:54 PM
Big Ten is by far the best football conference. sure there is indiana and illinois, but over all it is superior to the SEC. Northwestern is comprable to South Carolina in terms of pulling magic out of their hat every so oftenGeorgia v. Penn State - Winner, Penn StateS. Carolina v. Northwestern - Winner, South Carolina just because Northwestern's coach diedFlorida v. Ohio State - Winner Ohio StateVanderbilt v. Purdue - winner PurdueTennessee v Michigan State - Winner Michigan StateKentucky v. Indiana - Winner Indiana (toss up though)LSU v. Michigan - Winner LSUAuburn v. Iowa - Winner AuburnAlabama v. Minnesota - Winner MinnesotaArkansas v. Wisconsin - Winner WisconsinMiss. State v. Illinois - Miss. StateOle Miss (Because they suck so much I won't even have them in this competition)
8/4/2006 3:44:53 PM

8/4/2006 3:48:21 PM

8/4/2006 3:49:46 PM

8/4/2006 3:53:19 PM
you are mad because it is true.SEC sucks nowthey are no longer the powerhouse you think they are.
8/4/2006 4:25:02 PM
not at all true, if anything its getting better with South Carolina, Ole Miss, and Arkansas slowly getting better
8/4/2006 10:33:07 PM
8/4/2006 11:52:33 PM
I think a lot of programs wish to have Minnesota's championships. Don't they have like 7?
8/5/2006 12:10:15 AM
I am not sure how many they have, but I know that Bama has more...
8/5/2006 1:18:25 AM
and how many probations?
8/5/2006 3:18:27 PM
HAHAHAHAI forgot the Big Ten was so clean, I mean teams like Ohio State are just angels. That shit goes on everywhere, its a given
8/5/2006 3:31:32 PM
we were not talking about tOSUwe were talking about Bama and Minnesotabut that is the typical response I'd expect from a fan of the So Everyone Cheats conference.
8/5/2006 3:39:36 PM
so naive...
8/5/2006 3:43:16 PM
I'm not seeing anything on the same level as Bamaalso, basketball, not footballand Minnesota unlike Bama cooperated
8/5/2006 3:46:32 PM
no, that was football, not basketball, the bball was even worse. And I agree, Bama is bad, but so are a lot of other teams, Bama was just so blatant/stupid that they got caught.
