had cingular 3 years, then wife went to Miami, and two months later we got hit with a $350 bill for roaming charges.

cingular customer service absolutely sucked.

next month, we're at verizon, getting a new plan. their coverage is much better, no roaming ever, no charged minutes to other verizon customers. maybe cingular had better clarity, but so what. i hate those fucks.

cingular does a lot of bait and switch bullshit too. check out the latest class action lawsuit ruled against them.

I've had Cingular forever. The service is good. Customer service sucks bad though.
You're reception also depends on the phone and most people just automatically cuss Cingular for it. My old roommate would be sitting in our living room and have calls dropped constantly and not get a signal. I, on the other hand, had 5 bars. It depends on alot of things.

Their plans are decent. If you have issues go to the store to get it resolved it's a a hell of alot easier. I've never had Verizon so I cant speak for them.

Gosh, go figure getting mad at Cingular because some of their phones won't hold a signal. They did SELL you the phone. I have 5-6 bars at ALL times with Cingular, and still my calls drop every 5 minutes. When I went to the store to resolve my issue (which I had to do because when I tried to call them, before I could finish telling them the problem, I had already been dropped...), they told me there was nothing they could do about it...that, even though I have not had problems for the past 3 years, since they "restructured the network" they could not promise that I'd ever get good reception again...and they can not give minutes back, nor reduce the rates.

After three years with Cingular, I'm switching carries this weekend! :-D
