well, he's signed now anywayshttp://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2534056
7/30/2006 12:35:57 AM
i do kinda like his personality in his ad campaignsbut still think he'll flop
8/11/2006 4:43:59 PM
He is a hell of a lot more likable than Vince Young
8/11/2006 5:00:00 PM
i guess...i'll admit reggie is pretty likeable, i just havent really seen much of vince since the championship game last year so i don't knowi do think vince is gonna have a pretty decent nfl career though
8/11/2006 5:04:04 PM
any of you haters see that 44 yard run tonight? he outran the entire titans defense to the sideline. i dunno, he might not put up huge numbers this year because of the saints horrendous o-line, but there's no denying bush's talent.
8/12/2006 9:13:55 PM
it's good that the titans are known for their defense.
8/12/2006 11:01:20 PM
8/12/2006 11:07:12 PM
^^^ he outran a defensive end and two guys with horrible pursuit angles.NOBODY HAS EVER DONE THAT BEFORE.
8/13/2006 6:05:10 PM
titans defense is an oxymoron or something
8/13/2006 6:40:44 PM
i support this thread
8/13/2006 6:59:40 PM
haters!!!hahaha, he looked like a flop, for sure! he also looked way too small to run against these huge, mean, tough nfl defensive players seriously, sleik, as a fellow saints fan you have to be pretty excited to have him on the team this year. yeah, the saints need o-line and defensive help, but it's not like teams were giving them any great offers to allow them to move down in the draft to address those needs at reasonable picks. he signed before the first preseason game, is playing hard, and hasn't been a jackass off the field. why no love?[Edited on August 14, 2006 at 1:52 PM. Reason : .]
8/14/2006 1:46:09 PM
oh he's guaranteed to be a superstar based on a preseason game!!!
8/14/2006 1:49:04 PM
^ hey, i never said he's definitely a superstar - but he sure didn't look like a blair-thomas-like flop either. if he had had a poor game, i'm sure you would've bttt'ed this thread, so i'm gonna bttt every time he plays well. word!
8/14/2006 1:54:18 PM
fair enoughwhat did he do on his other ~9 carries? get stuffed?
8/14/2006 1:56:46 PM
^^^^ I'm excited, spooner, but tempered enthusiasm is grossly underrated.I'm over the fact that we won't have addressed any of the major needs now. Now I'm working on the nutjobs who seem to believe that Reggie Bush:1) can sustain a full NFL load right now, in a 3-year college body2) renders Deuce McAllister worthless3) should just be given the starting job because of 1 & 2It was a nice showing overall, but I'm not about to throw out names like Sanders and Sayers. I'm a firm believer in earning/justifying your hype and then sustaining a high performance level. LeBron James did it. Michael Vick hasn't. The jury is still out on Reggie Bush. One run in one preseason game isn't enough. He's going to have good games and not-so-good games, because everybody does. But I don't want to get trapped into making apologist statements when he has the bad games like Vick fans seem to do OR forgetting about everybody else when he has good ones - I'm a SAINTS fan, and I don't want our fanbase to draw any comparison to Flake-on fans.I posted in a journal entry that he'd be a dud well before I knew that he'd be a Saint. I want him to do well BECAUSE he's a Saint, and I want that entry to be wrong. However, I doubt that he'll meet the lofty expectations set forth for him already, and that will lead to bust perceptions.[Edited on August 15, 2006 at 1:51 AM. Reason : the whole "only donating to katrina relief if i get to wear 5" left a lasting bad taste here]
8/15/2006 1:50:04 AM
So like...a couple games into the season...when defenses realize Bush will only run to the outside and that he's scared to go up the middle...you think when they contain him and lay him some licks in the backfield he will injure something arm-related or leg-related? Anybody see Pacman Jones put that hit on him? Kinda a mutual hit...still if a defensive back who played in college two years ago can hit him that hard, I wonder how hard linebackers are gonna hit him?]
8/15/2006 8:20:56 AM
he is going to get destroyed going around the outside by linebackers like Ray Lewis and Dan Morgan who can also run side to side[Edited on August 15, 2006 at 8:53 AM. Reason : >.<]
8/15/2006 8:53:23 AM
Pacman Jones is the worst tackler in the NFL, I have NEVER seen him actaully try to tackle someone. He always thinks he can just hit someone hard, and they should go down, which sometimes works with WRs, but everytime I see him do it to a big running back, they just breeze by him like it never happened, and he is left just standing there scratching his head.
8/15/2006 9:01:57 AM
well my point is him and bush smashed into each other...seemed to be a pretty even collision...but if a 22 year old d-back can stop bush...
8/15/2006 9:04:33 AM
8/15/2006 11:36:37 AM
YOU GUYS ARE FUCKING STUPID.....REGGIE BUSH WILL BE DANGEROUS....WHETHER HE IS LINED UP IN THE SLOT OR IN THE BACKFIELD SHARING CARRIES WITH DEUCE.....BECAUSE DEUCE IS SUCH A THREAT HIMSELF DEFENSES CANNOT KEY ON BUSH......HE WILL DO WELL THIS YEAR....I CAN REMEMBER THE LAST TIME A PLAYER LIKE BUSH WAS DRAFTED AFTER A D-LINEMEN.......THAT PLAYER WAS MARSHALL FAULK.....I'M SURE THE BUNGLES WISH THEY COULD HAVE HAD THAT ONE BACK.......MARIO WILLIAMS = BIG DUDDY
8/15/2006 11:50:10 AM
^THAT...................IS.....................GOOD...................COMMENTARY................dotdotdotdot..........
8/15/2006 11:52:14 AM
HEY SPIDA HOW DID BUSH DO AGAINST TEXAS WHEN HE GOT BANGED UP...LOOKS LIKE HE WAS TOO CHICKENSHIT TO PLAY IN THE 4TH QUARTER...THERES A DIFFERENCE IN OUTRUNNING THE PAC-10 ON SATURDAYS AND BANGING WITH THE BIG BOYS ON SUNDAYS...BUSH CANT RUN TO THE MIDDLE...HE WONT...HE CANT
8/15/2006 12:07:06 PM
DIDN'T "ALL THE EXPERTS" SAY ALL THIS STUFF ABOUT FAULK WHEN HE CAME OUT OF SDST????
8/15/2006 12:09:27 PM
I am stealing this entire post from a guy named MadBurgerMaker on another of my forums, he is a texans fan, but I think he hits the nail right on the head.

8/15/2006 1:21:26 PM
mario's contract is for more than bush's, but i agree with everything else he said
8/15/2006 2:08:01 PM
why are people saying Bush is "scared to go up the middle"?he doesnt call the plays as far as i knowmaybe i need to go back and check out the game again but im pretty sure he did fine for his first nfl gamebut there aint nobody like brandon jacobs folks
8/15/2006 3:04:29 PM
^^only by a little and the first 4 years pay bush more ]
8/15/2006 3:06:33 PM
^^he will constantly pass up open lanes in the middle to always go to the outside, relying on his speed...that shit worked great in the PAC-10 on Saturdays...lets see how it pans out against the big ballers on Sundays
8/15/2006 3:18:24 PM
as long as bush is in the right situation he'll be great. if he always plays with a bruiser like mcallister, his stregnths will be featured, while his weaknesses are masked. If a team ever tries to stick him in a 1 back situation tho........
8/15/2006 3:44:08 PM
8/15/2006 4:54:09 PM
he'll make for a great return specialist, but I doubt he sees anywhere close to half the carries in his first three seasons.
8/15/2006 6:00:30 PM
8/15/2006 7:45:40 PM
i think he will be kinda like dante hall, he'll be the man for awhile and then people will figure him out and prepare better.
8/15/2006 7:49:11 PM
8/15/2006 8:17:31 PM
^^I can agree with dat'
8/15/2006 8:54:36 PM
Bush is great but mark my wards, as soon as he gets a safety or linebacker put a big fucking lick on him, he'll turn into mr. glass and shatter. He is a big injury waiting to happen...watch. I hope its from the Panthers too
8/15/2006 11:28:51 PM
2 games against CAR, 2 against TB2 of the best defenses in the last few years
8/15/2006 11:30:08 PM
Not to mention we get the AFC North and NFC East this yr
8/17/2006 9:29:09 AM
"kids call me Mr. Glass"
8/17/2006 9:35:30 AM
4^ he is kinda soft! You did see the way that pac-man touched his ass up near the side line, when Bush tried to bold him over in that Tenn game last week. And he's just a lil ole DB.
8/17/2006 12:34:28 PM
exactly...a little old DB who was playing college ball 2 years ago...ie not a big NFL veteran]
8/17/2006 12:35:58 PM
damn he looked good last night with those 4 rushes for 7 yards...he sure is a great east-west runner...now if he can just work on that whole north-south part...
8/22/2006 10:33:54 AM
Reggie needs to learn when you have a hole for 4 yards, you take it. You can't turn every run out to the sideline against most NFL defenses. Every now and then the defense may overpursue, and Reggie Bush has the speed to break a 50 yard run like in the Titans game. Most of the time, you are trading a 4 yard gain for a 2 yard loss.
8/22/2006 10:48:38 AM
8/22/2006 10:51:35 AM
i'll bet he plays less than 10 games this year due to injury
8/22/2006 10:57:17 AM
nah, he'll only get around a dozen touches a game.....he'll be fresh all year.....and actually probably do better the 2nd half than the 1st half.
