i think he'd come if we offered
4/13/2006 9:52:24 AM
I think like Haith more than any other possible coach that we originally courted... III
4/13/2006 9:52:27 AM
I am sorry, but that Andrew Jones article in today's paper was awful. I mean, how long do you really think it took him to list about 20 questions. Good work buddy.
4/13/2006 10:14:22 AM
yeah and he didn't even say the name. i mean he could have pulled that ass w/nobody in mind
4/13/2006 10:15:34 AM
Oh, he'd come if we offered. Not to use the played out message board rumor crap, but this truly is his "dream job". Lifelong State fan, North Carolina guy, etc.
4/13/2006 10:27:16 AM
i think this man should be here especially since he's a state fanthat's exactly what we need hereif we hire brady and not haith, i'll be pissed and we would have be better off with herb at a lower contract than brady
4/13/2006 10:53:43 AM
I'd rather have Haith than Brady or Larranga. I'll put him in a tie with Marshall, and Gillispie. Haith might get the nod over those two in my opinion just because he's a state fan and has already told people he wants to coach here.
4/13/2006 11:10:02 AM
Isn't there a rule about getting a couch from the same confrence?
4/13/2006 11:19:00 AM
^ I am not certain about that but I think that maybe it has to be approved by the conference or something like that, but that is just what I think, not what I know.
4/13/2006 11:21:07 AM
if he says we are his "dream job"i say go get his ass. money doesnt make people work hard. passion does
4/13/2006 11:21:42 AM
4/13/2006 11:25:25 AM
hmm.....guy who says its his dream job or guy who wants a raise?easy choice.
4/13/2006 11:26:03 AM
this sounds good to me.I really hope we get someone here who wants the job, an not just because we pay them a ton.

Info on Haith's recruiting classes. Remember...this is freaking Miami, folks. Give him the RBC, Tobacco Rd., Nat'l Championship banners, etc...and you can expect these to increase quite a bit. Most of these guys aren't Flordida boys. Haith is known to be a relentless recruiter. The only thing in question with him is X's and O's and experience. http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=13&p=9&cfg=bb&c=8&yr=2006http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=13&p=9&cfg=bb&c=8&yr=2005He also has a commitment for 2007....the #5 PG in the nation, rated higher than Chris Wrighthttp://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=13&p=8&c=1&nid=1151968Since a lot of you put way too much stock into recruiting classes, if you ask me, that's a lot of talent to be recruited to U of M. The more and more I think about him, the more and more I like him. - Relentless recruiter- Very very young- ACC-ready- NC State fan- North carolina native- Rick Barnes protege, and Barnes holds him in the highest regard- Knows the area recruiting-wise (Wake Forest assistant)- First african-american coach on Tobacco Road (Help recruiting)- ABC fan... would love nothing more than to bitch slap UNC while at NC StateI still won't put him above Gillispie, but Gillispie is a longer shot than Haith. He doesn't "know" NC State. He was born in Texas, gets paid a lot, and has aspirations to be the next Texas Head Coach (He may leave somewhere down the road if hired here). That said, I'd still rather have Gillispie, the "miracle worker"[Edited on April 13, 2006 at 11:40 AM. Reason : ]
4/13/2006 11:31:24 AM
Yeah Haith keeps looking better and better.
4/13/2006 11:40:44 AM
I heard on 850 yesterday that gillispie is pretty much at the same job as he would be if he came to state, but in texas. I heard that he knows that part of the country and is possibly waiting out lute olsen for the arizona job. The whole "better basketball conference" and tradition thing is a bit overrrated if you ask me. I mean, look at indiana. nobody was dying to take that job, and I bet their fans think it's the best job in the country, just like most state fans think this is THE job opening at the moment (not that it isn't, but it doesn't have the extremem allure that most fans think it does). that said, I think Haith is a better fit, due to his knowledge of the area and his abilities.[Edited on April 13, 2006 at 12:01 PM. if we hire him for one reason and one reason only this would be it...
4/13/2006 12:04:33 PM
I guess I had rather have Haith than no coach at all.At least offer him before Brady. REMOVE BRADY FROM OUR LIST PLEASE!
4/13/2006 12:12:02 PM
^Thank you. Yeah, I want no more mention of Brady.Fowler DOES realize this right?Does Haith do a good job working the officials?[Edited on April 13, 2006 at 12:21 PM. Reason : ?]

Getting players is half the battle. It looks like Haith does a great job of getting talent. You HAVE to have talent to compete. He can get the caliber of players that we need to improve our program. Haith is our guy in my opinion.
4/13/2006 12:56:49 PM
If you are really interested in being informed about the search process you should be reading David Glen's Blog for WRAL and State Fan's NationToday SFN has posted an article on how Haith should be the floor for the rest of the candidates to be judged by. I think they do an excellent job summarizing the current situation, even compiling their list. The only mistake I see is not striking out Dave Odem's name.http://www.statefansnation.com/index.php/archives/2006/04/13/coaching-conversation-compare-all-candidates-to-haith/
4/13/2006 1:10:58 PM
I say go with Haith.Gillespie isn't going to leave Texas, and we'd probably waste our time trying to lure him away.Haith may not be proven, but he is fiery and he is a good recruiter.
4/13/2006 1:24:15 PM
4/13/2006 1:25:50 PM
well, nutsmackr likes him so that's all that matters.

nice. I spelled it "Flordida" [Edited on April 13, 2006 at 1:29 PM. Reason : ]

I was sitting upper level at the ACC tournament in the corner of the coliseum closest to Miami's bench when they almost beat Duke. They went on a little skid in the first half and second half and started making stupid plays...Haith brought all of them in and went the fuck off on them. Sure enough, they came back and had a chance to win at the end of the game. The other thing about Sendek beating Haith.....Haith has shit players right now, and the good ones are young. He had Diaz and Hyte(sp?), and nobody else. The freshman look promising, but they're too young to matter.
4/13/2006 1:30:51 PM
Go hire Haith so I can get back to studying for law school exams
4/13/2006 1:31:13 PM
josh mcrib surely didnt matter for duke this yeartyler hansbrough didn't eitherdamn freshmen...
4/13/2006 1:31:52 PM
I think Haith would be a great hire. I hope Lee Fowler realizes Haith would be a much better hire than our other alternatives. And besides, HAITH BEAT ROY! BRING HIM IN!
4/13/2006 1:33:45 PM
^^thats the most ridiculous extrapolation I've heard yet. Both of those guys could have gone pro before this season. IN GENERAL, its a big plus if freshmen can help you out, usually you hope they can just give you good filler minutes.[Edited on April 13, 2006 at 1:34 PM. Reason : ]
4/13/2006 1:33:53 PM
So why don't you retarded wolfweb homosexuals like LSUs coach, since we're basing an A-list off of final four runs and ability to beat Duke and UNC?Douchebags. See, this is why I don't really come here anymore. queue some dickbox's smartass remark below:
4/13/2006 1:37:01 PM
Diaz and Hite were better than anyone on our team.Anthony King would have EASILY started for us at power forward over Evtimov. How can you say they had no talent?
4/13/2006 1:38:04 PM
only 2 twenty win seasons is why i dont like him
4/13/2006 1:39:53 PM
^^^^ not now with the New NBA rule. You have to do one year of college or sit out a year (most are not going to do that, maybe they go over seas) but all the great player that can go pro out of high school are gona go to college for atleast a year and can turn a shit team in to a champ![Edited on April 13, 2006 at 1:46 PM. 4/13/2006 1:42:36 PM
ya, LSU has had all of 1 good year & they have a ton of talent.. Haith has limited experience yes, but his teams overacheived the last 2 years.
4/13/2006 1:42:50 PM
I forgot about king....name their next player in line though. You cant win with 3 players.

frank haith's team this past season had the potential to be just as good as villanova I think. I know they didn't have the big name recruits, but miami's offense ( 3 pretty good guards and 1 good center) should have had great success.
4/13/2006 2:06:23 PM
which center for Miami was good?

4/13/2006 4:52:58 PM
mr. grace - that contract hasn't been signed and i doubt the buyout would be big since he isn't paid very high
4/13/2006 5:34:02 PM
4/13/2006 8:56:56 PM
Fuck what you heard...Haith could be that Diamond in the rough... III
4/13/2006 9:03:25 PM
I'm sure we all realize now that money is not the issue. The two who turned us down - it was not b/c of money. We should get a coach who "wants" to be here. If there's truth to the good things I've read about Haith, then he's our guy. Haith being our worst case scenario is not such a bad thing afterall.
