the fight night demo is suprisingly enjoyable, despite the fact you can rape the computer without even knowing the controls. in other news, full auto sux my balls. it had so much potential being from sega and all, but the weapons dont really feel necessary and it isnt htat fun.

^ i have been reading the previews of FN3, and it sounds like it is basically fight night 2 with better graphics and improved controls. Fight Night 2 was one of the best games I have played on xbox.....the career mode was actually challenging.

I think the online will be fun, too, because it will be like an actual boxing circuit, with only one champ.

i never played any other of the fight nights, but i loved boxing games back on the genesis. sports games in general seem to get old quick, but i could see liking this one.

actually this new fight night is gonna be a lot different

each boxer has his own style of fighting that you must tailor yourself to

also you can't just throw 35 haymakers in a row and be effective like in round 2

Premium: $399

You'll need a hard drive within the first week of ownership, so just get the Premium and be done with it.

Check Best Buy's in Cary or on Glenwood at opening on Tuesdays. Got mine that way.

And you get a headset & wireless controller upgrade for free. AND an HDTV component cable upgrade from the standard yellow/red/white cables. It's a no-brainer.

first fight was manny pacquaio (me) v. erik morales and it was fucking insane. you can hear both fighters breathing heavily after a few rounds, the slow motion shots of the knock down punches are absolutely amazing. i hit morales with a 9th round uppercut and in the slow motion replayed you could see my boxing glove scrunch up and morales' face get all fucked up, he even spit out a shit ton of blood, fucking great.

i just fought my first espnclassic fight, sugar ray robinson v. jake lamotta (me). fucking great. it was in black in white and in MSG. i was pretty much getting my ass kicked during the first 5 rounds (robinson won all but 1 round on the scorecard) and i just dominated him in the 6th and knocked him out cold on the first knockdown of the fight, it was awesome.

^thats awesome that you can win on the first knockdown of a fight. I hate those games where you have to knock down someone 7 freakin times to get a knockout.


I remember in FN2 for xbox, I was absolutely getting dominated in my career mode by the # 2 contender....I was like # 4 or something. At that point I was undefeated (probably 18-0 or so), and I thought I was about to lose, but I nailed him with a straight right in the 7th or 8th round, and he didnt even go into KO mode, he just fell down, and was out for the count. That was the most satisfying fight ive ever had in a video game.

Fight Night is fun as hell. I just fought an epic 10 round battle ONLINE in which neither fighter got knocked down until me in the 10th round. I won the first 5 of the first 6 rounds, then he had won 7 -9, so I knew I had to win the round to avoid a draw, but my guy was all fucked up. I TRIED to just stick and move, like little mac, but this motherfucker knew he had to win so he came at me full force and got me with a haymaker with about 20 seconds left in the fight. I lost 94-93 on all 3 scorecards

the first fight I ever fought was just amazing. I fought as Ali vs Frazier in the Garden. In the first round, I danced around and just went to town on Frazier, and knocked him down with a few seconds left in the round. He was badly bleeding from his eye and mouth and was breathing heavily between rounds. Ali looked fine.

In the second round, I missed with a big haymaker trying to finish him off, and he came back with a big left hook that broke my nose. In between rounds you could tell Ali was breathing different because of the broken nose and seemed to tire quicker. I was knocked down twice more, once in the 3rd and once in the 4th. In the 5th, though, I nailed frazier with a haymaker to the damaged eye, and the game paused for a second (and I thought it had frozen) but it was just transfering to a cut scene where the referee was jumping in to stop the fight.

I swear this is the best fighting game I have ever played, if not the best game period.

If it had as many fighters as the original knockout kings games, it would be unreal. That game had at one time or another:

Butterbean
Marciano
Hurricane Carter
Larry Holmes
Frank Bruno
Joe Louis
Sonny Liston
various girl fighters, etc.

It also needs to have mike tyson, but that will never happen.

FN3 shouldnt be much harder wit its updated graphics

but the career mode, for some reason, took a step back
