my point is ever since itunes came out on Mac, I stopped using anything else and windows and only used my Mac to listen to music. The windows release just enhanced all that so i can use it across my network.page 3 loves apple![Edited on October 27, 2005 at 11:20 PM. Reason : i mean hates apple, hate hate hate.]

I don't hate 'em. I just like playing games on the PC.

You can drag and drop files but on my friends Ipod you couldn't listen to any of them. It just showed up as generic files. This may have changed for the latest revision but he had to download an OMGHAX program to transfer music to his Ipod.
10/28/2005 12:47:52 PM
Bobby:Yeah I tried to drag n drop mp3's onto the shuffle through windows and it didn't work.
10/28/2005 7:23:52 PM
>.<
10/28/2005 7:33:05 PM
I know that normal drag and drop doesn't work on the full-size iPods, but I wasn't 100% about Shuffles, so I didn't comment. But I'm pretty sure that dnd won't show the files as playable files.
10/28/2005 8:28:32 PM
why would apple enable simple drag and dropIt's kinda their strategy to get more people to use iTMSDon't you think?
10/28/2005 8:31:24 PM
iTunes is free and easy to use so why not use it? I've always used it and really like it.
10/28/2005 8:47:31 PM
Why should you have to when virtually every MP3 CD player for the past god knows how many years has been able to say "OH HEY, THIS FOLDER IS NEXT ALPHABETICALLY, LET ME PLAY IT FOR YOU" after having files dropped onto it.
10/28/2005 8:59:49 PM
10/28/2005 10:43:28 PM
they both suck equally really
10/28/2005 10:45:07 PM
^^the fact that it comes with windows doesn't mean shit. if its free and easy to download it doesn't have to come with anything. I like the way itunes looks, feels and functions. Streaming music across the network is simple too,

10/28/2005 11:41:46 PM
the simple fact is this:if you have a cd player, you're cheap.if you have an ipod, you're cool.if you have any other mp3 player, you're cheap, and want to be cool. unless you can justify why your mp3 player is better than an ipod -- then you're just an arrogant technocrat
10/28/2005 11:51:49 PM
Ok look. You can argue the Ipod as a competent MP3 player but Itunes fucking sucks. Its a memory hog, doesn't look too nifty, "rebuffers" all the damn time when streaming music, AND associates itself with every music on your hard drive. Thats the reason I bought an IRiver in the first place: So I don't have the dependancy of iTunes.
10/29/2005 12:18:38 AM
There's a cool 3rd party app that enables drag n drop for the iPod.Most Windows users I know though love iTunes.[Edited on October 29, 2005 at 12:22 AM. Reason : 3]
10/29/2005 12:22:23 AM
i dunno what you are doing wrong but iTunes rocks and is the simplest software....not much to it.and yes it does look good.
10/29/2005 2:09:55 AM
^agreed
10/29/2005 2:13:14 AM
oh and its not even close to being a memory hog. some of us have more than 512mb of ram
10/29/2005 2:16:53 AM
10/29/2005 9:51:14 AM
See I knew somebody was going to say something stupid like "well I have more then 512 megs of ram" as if it justifies shitty coding. I like efficiency over fluff, especially when iTunes doesn't match any native Windows environment well anyway.
10/29/2005 12:09:13 PM
iTunes sucksEven Winamp with video is better than iTunes

i like how someone used the fact that WMP is installed on every computer as a reason to use itlike 90% of tech talk doesn't use IE nowOMG FIRE FOX IS THE BROWSER FOR PEOPLE WHO KNOW HOW GOOD WMP IS!!!!11
10/30/2005 10:57:19 AM
What the fuck? I only have 256 of RAM and iTunes does not bog a single goddamned thing down. I swear most of you are fucking retarded.
10/30/2005 1:59:17 PM
^ me too.I ran iTunes for a year or so on 256 MB RAM and never had a problem.
10/30/2005 2:11:17 PM
yeah, i don't understand all the hate eitherits never slowed me down (althought photoshop is the most "technical" program i use) or crashed on me...
10/30/2005 2:11:42 PM
omg people buy itit must suck.
10/30/2005 2:39:53 PM
it does suck. I hate having to watch Lost commerical free in the car while i'm waiting in I40 traffic (ie not moving)
10/30/2005 2:56:03 PM
my only beef is having to use final cut pro on a maci'm used to little things like ctrl-c and v and such...it's like using another language
10/30/2005 3:11:43 PM
its just as simple apple + capple +v(p.s. i don't know what the little apple key is really called so i'll just call it apple.)
10/30/2005 3:12:34 PM
haha, i think it's "open-apple"but yeah, i know that's how it's done, but the ctrl key is still on the keyboard!it's like "hey, what about me? i'm helping! i'm helping!"
10/30/2005 3:14:42 PM
10/30/2005 3:20:56 PM
oooh yeah...
10/30/2005 3:21:30 PM
10/30/2005 3:23:02 PM
Even though Apple did it first. (On the MS Editor it used to be Shift-Insert and Ctrl-Insert)
10/30/2005 3:24:32 PM
WMP is still superior.Because it comes with windows, and I don't have to deal with registering with apple's faggotry (Woodfoot)and yes, I use IE, because it does everything I need, and does it well.
10/30/2005 8:06:17 PM
10/30/2005 8:17:49 PM
thats what you get when you "next next next finish" on install.i always check what sound files should be assiociated with what programs on install.^yeah whats with the registring? only thing you have to register is when you purchase songs and thats because they need a credit card to pay for it unless he's talking about downloading itunes where they ask for an email and even that is optional. so long as you uncheck the mailing list stuff you don't need an email address to download it.[Edited on October 30, 2005 at 8:20 PM. Honestly I don't care who uses iTunes. I've used everything under the sun and determined that windows media player classic and mplayer are the best choices for me. I'm done with this thread. Peace.
