Good job Ozzie on the contract extensionbut you did horrible in managing today's game. when you have a closer that's been as good as Hermanson this year, bring him in with the lead in the ninth. instead, Marte blows it and now you will lose one after leading the whole way. very bad decisions today.Wow, ok, you got lucky and you scored 2 in the ninth to win it but that was still spotty managing.[Edited on May 30, 2005 at 6:58 PM. stop getting hurt, hurt, we, or rather I, miss you
5/31/2005 9:26:11 AM
^^ Ozzie has a flair for the dramatiche kept Dustin in the bullpen just to make things interesting.
5/31/2005 9:30:39 AM
Yea but now you bring Dustin in for mop-up work in a game you're losing just to get him some work and he gets hit for the first time this year. This can affect Hermanson's mentality big time and I wouldn't be surprised if he struggles from now on. You gotta give your closer all save opps just to give him that confidence.

6/16/2005 11:24:47 AM
they don't come easy, but we're winning nonetheless
6/19/2005 11:06:44 PM
yea these two wins were greati think kent had his foot on the bag but the great teams have luck on their side
6/19/2005 11:29:42 PM
ha, two great shutouts ruined in the last two inningsgg buerhle and garland, GREAT pitched games.
6/22/2005 8:05:05 PM
i can't believe we're 10 games up on the Twins all of a suddenthis really could be a 110+ win seasonwe should have 60 wins by the All Star break
6/22/2005 11:17:37 PM
time for the L series
6/23/2005 9:30:08 AM
Now I am not a white sox fan but they are going for win number 50 in their next game, thats quite impressive. considering last year their were only 2 teams with 50 wins at the allstar break

YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD.....YES!!!!!!Crede 3-run HR in the 7th makes it 12-1
6/24/2005 6:18:03 PM
gg buerhle
6/29/2005 8:47:20 AM
No offense to Halladay and Garland but Buehrle should get the All-Star nod as the starter. 10-1, only loss coming against Johan Santana, with a 2.42 ERA and WHIP right around 1.00. But most importantly, he's been solid EVERY outing, recording a ridiculous amount of straight quality starts (more than 30 in a row) and leading the Sox to the best record in baseball.
6/29/2005 9:20:01 AM
BIG HURT12 hits on the season ..... 8 of them are HRs
6/29/2005 10:54:53 PM
and #8 won the game
6/29/2005 11:12:26 PM
i was worried with Takatsu on the hill with the bases loadeddamn good win for him tonight
6/29/2005 11:15:46 PM
why wasn't Hermanson brought in? maybe he's trying to get Takatsu's confidence back. they're going to need him down the stretch. i still would've used Hermanson though.
6/29/2005 11:17:22 PM
have you had a post in this thread that wasn't either praising hermanson or knocking takatsu??
6/30/2005 8:16:46 AM
Nope, I dont think so. I just dont like Takatsu that much but I'm glad he got through it and won the game. I just think Ozzie should put his best pitcher out there when it counts, and in save opps this year, Hermanson has been his best pitcher and the reason he's the closer. Nothing short of working three or four nights in a row should keep a closer from closing games especially one that has been as good as Hermanson. You think Rivera or Gagne wouldn't have been pitching in that situation? Closing is a mentality and based upon confidence, but you don't give your closer any confidence when you bypass him. That's why closing by committee never works. I just rather see Hermanson with the lead and three outs to go than anyone else.
6/30/2005 9:14:23 AM
gg Jon on getting unlucky #13he had better be the starter for the AL All Star team
7/3/2005 4:00:15 AM
i dont know, i think buerhle is equally deserving
7/3/2005 12:41:30 PM
let's hope today's performance doesn't sway the decisionhowever, I have a feeling Roy gets the start
7/3/2005 7:51:09 PM
You keep making the threads.... last year, I offered no luck
