i just lifted the list but yeah i agree with your assesments of each, a few of them really need to be done, the only thing along the lines of video out that would be useful would be for movies or slideshow/pictures and such.

Picked my PSP up a couple of days ago, and I must say that I absolutely love it. I do carry it around everywhere, I keep mp3s on it, and I play games and watch movies. It's outstanding, I couldn't ask for more out of a handheld. I would never consider buying a DS, but I have no regrets at all about buying a PSP.
4/21/2005 1:57:09 AM
....ok what do you look like, and what's your schedule and where do you most often keep it.......
4/21/2005 5:47:38 AM
Everyone I know who bought a PSP after already owning a DS has said the Nintendo is a piece.
4/21/2005 9:26:41 AM
I bought both, I still own both. The PSP is an awesome system, no question about it, but it already has several great games onboard. The DS has a lot of potential as a portable gaming system, but it's been five months and the game selection is still ass. What a weak launch for what could be such a great system...
4/21/2005 9:51:07 AM
^ I agree. I see it turning into the next Virtual Boy. I sold mine early on to recoup b/c I realized how weak the launch was and it ain't gettin' better.I was very close to buying a PSP, then I realized I would never have time to play it.
4/21/2005 9:55:02 AM
Have they released any DS games yet?
4/21/2005 10:15:17 AM
I have had my PSP since Launch day. I absolutely love the thing. It does everything I would need from a handheld gaming unit. I can't wait til the one gig sticks start coming more available so I can put more music/videos on there. For now I have 3 games: Twisted Metal, Wipeout and Untold Legends. All pretty good games. TM has more fun factor this go around compared to the last 3 releases. Wipeout looks damn sweet on the system and Untold Legends is an average hacknslash RPG.
4/21/2005 10:36:53 AM
I think that people would like the NDS a lot better if it had more launch games. But I must say that Metroid is excellent, although it sucks that I have to wait until like August to get the full game. I'm looking forward to Castlevania too. It needs more quality games if it is going to compete with the PSP.
4/21/2005 10:39:45 AM
Those are two must haves. I guess I'll wait to dust my DS off till then.WarioWare makes one hell of a bathroom game though...
4/21/2005 2:45:17 PM
I'd like to know where you can get a 1G stick for 100 bucks, even online the lowest I've seen is about 130
4/21/2005 2:56:23 PM
dell had em for 99 a couple weeks ago. froogle for em, you can find them for 100-105 several places (pretty much everyone is out of stock / backordered right now though)
4/21/2005 3:13:41 PM
twisted metal 1/2 were the shit back in the day
4/21/2005 3:59:28 PM
All I have to say is Lumines is fucking awesome.

4/24/2005 1:21:53 AM
Is it worth it to purchase a used one or just up it to a new one?
5/30/2005 3:28:28 PM
psp wins.
5/31/2005 12:03:30 PM
Not really. I didn't see one interesting title in all the PSP E3 coverage. The DS had New Super Mario Bros., Nintendogs, and Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow which will be why I'll be picking one up sometime in the future.Nintendogs turned out to be a huge hit in Japan.http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/06/02/news_6126831.html

6/2/2005 9:00:03 PM
Yeah my own personal collection of PSP games is already better than the entire collection of DS games + all the games coming out for the DS for a while. I have them both. I'm looking forward to playing games on both. but there's really no question that the PSP is ten times better than the DS.
6/2/2005 9:10:24 PM
I never heard anything about the PSP connecting XBox 360, which seems pretty worthless. WTF is up with that?Of those games you've listed I'm only remoted interested Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, which was only shown as a "concept trailer" at E3. Death Jr. seems like a decent game, but I have zero interest in GTA, the racing games, or SOCOM. I'll admit that GT4, GTA, and SOCOM will sell PSPs though.
6/2/2005 9:36:54 PM
It was part of the Microsoft E3 Press Conference. It was just a gimmick really. The point was that the Xbox360 will be able to use any usb device for storage (like the Xbox already does) The slide that they had up had the ipod and a psp on it as examples of other devices that would be able to "interact" with the xbox360. You can already use the PSP as a "memory card" for the Xbox. It's not like you'll be able to play multiplayer games across platforms or anything cool like that.
6/2/2005 10:12:34 PM
So, as I expected, useless.I guess we'll be able to connect it to the Revolution too.[Edited on June 2, 2005 at 10:27 PM. Reason : .]
6/2/2005 10:21:21 PM
Useless? SO say you have a catlog of songs and movies on your PSP and head over to a friends house. YOu could watch the movies on his HDTV and listen to your music while playing games. I wouldn't call it useless. Oh and just because the games don't peak your interest doesn't mean they aren't an impressive series of titles.
6/2/2005 11:05:36 PM
Has anyone talked about the dead pixels or prone to malfunction square button? If so I'd like to restate it.
6/3/2005 1:03:11 AM
1.) I have no dead pixels (nor does anyone I know)2.) I have no problematic square button (nor does anyone I know)
6/3/2005 1:05:58 AM
6/3/2005 1:22:58 AM
yes, a ps2 you can fit in your pocket and take anywhere with you. And the problem here is.....what exactly? As far as the dead pixel thing, I know that of the 2 psps I've bought I have a grand total of 0 dead pixels. And the square button thing isn't an issue anymore. Sony fixed that problem on all the US psps.
6/3/2005 1:46:28 AM
I don't need a ps2 I can take anywhere. It's hard enough justifying having one sitting in my living room that only has 4 games worth owning, let alone one that costs twice as much and has a tiny screen.
6/3/2005 1:49:30 AM
Well don't buy a psp then. problem solved.
6/3/2005 1:50:39 AM
If by PS2, you mean PS1.
6/3/2005 9:34:12 AM

6/3/2005 9:46:01 AM
*pique your interest
6/3/2005 10:03:21 AM
^^It'd be much more easy to do that with an iPod. Transporting files via the PSP may be an advantage it has over the DS, but there are far easier and more convenient ways to do so.
6/3/2005 10:39:03 AM
Yes, but you can't play games on an IPod. There is always going to be something that does the job better than a multitasker. The whole point is that the PSP combines all those nifty entertainment features into one gadget.
6/3/2005 1:05:25 PM
yeah, but it doesn't have 5.1 dolby
6/3/2005 6:26:03 PM
attn: people worried about dead pixels: buy it from walmart.
6/3/2005 6:41:34 PM
6/3/2005 7:37:44 PM
I have two DSs, one I bought at launch and one Nintendo gave me. I can say my original has one dead pixel. So that is a problem on DS too. Sony should be sending me a PSP in the next couple weeks, so I'll see what I prefer then. Until then, I've had no interaction with one. I think it's fucked up Sony won't give gaming stores units for demos. Nintendo gives them [DS] to everybody (even Target) so people can have hands-on interaction with the unit. It's good business practice to let the consumer interact with the product.
6/3/2005 7:48:44 PM
I was wondering why there aren't any PSP's at the stores.
6/3/2005 9:48:17 PM
companies pay stores to display games and systems, and Sony will not pay these stores to display the PSP. It realizes the unit will sell itself through word of mouth. But there are smart gaming buyers -- most the people posting in this thread -- who want to touch and experience the product before $250 is blown.

6/3/2005 10:03:23 PM
Nintendo has an awesome collegiate program to market its systems and games to college students through collegiate publications. Sony fails to capitalize on this market, that's why I'm not getting a PSP until several months after its release. The PR at Sony is telling me that'll change in the next year though ... we'll see.
6/3/2005 10:08:09 PM
you on now stinker?
6/3/2005 10:12:22 PM
who are you?
6/3/2005 10:13:51 PM
6/3/2005 10:20:01 PM
Why should it matter who Sony markets to?
6/3/2005 11:16:52 PM
because college students is the prime market for video games. it's stupid not to focus your attention on the demographic that'll buy your product.
