The Saturday before the House of Blues show they are playing a free show in Atlanta at Underground Atlanta (where, I don't know). I have a feeling that is going to be absolute chaos, though, since there is no limit to the number of people that can attend.

HOB = much better venue than RBC center. therefore, i just might go. especially since i'll be living in wilmington by then.
6/24/2005 5:24:11 PM
house of blues can't hold 3-4000 people - it'll be crazy but not that crazy
6/24/2005 5:30:50 PM
the atlanta show is free only to members of the 99x freeloaders. you have to be over 16 and a resident of GA to become a member...i might try and get my friend that lives in GA to sign me up if its possible.

I live in North Carolina and I just signed up this morning and printed out my membership card.http://99x.com/radioweb/profile/registration.asp[Edited on June 24, 2005 at 9:13 PM. Reason : ,]

I did not, and it sounds like I made a good decision. Did you go? From what I've been reading it was a disaster:

i went to see weezer last night. worst weezer show ive been to, but i think a lot of that is because me and my friends were told weezer would go on and start at 10, and we got there about 9:30 and has missed part of their set. the conditions werent the greatest, but not so bad i would say, "I wouldn't wish this show upon my worst enemy."you ended up not needing that freeloaders membership card, there were so many people it didnt matter. typically, as you get towards the front of the stage at the concert you have to squirm your way through the crowd, but last night you had to do that the second you got into the gates for about 1/2 mile. there were these big white pillars in the middle of the street, so it became impossible to see the stage at a distance. there were people climbing all over street lights, buildings, etc, which really wasnt the problem, it was people trying to throw bottles at them and hitting people in the crowd instead. i actually thought the street corner and set up was kind of cool. there were some people who were way too drunk also, but they mostly just stumbled around looking out of it.weezer sounded good and rivers seemed a lot more talkative than ive ever seen him before. the only new song i actually saw was haunt you every day, which is one of the better songs off their new album i think. they played some blue, a few pinkerton, a couple of green album songs. it seemed like they played more singles, but probably because a lot of non-weezer people came out to just get drunk and have something to do. overall id say it was a decent show, i only wish id gotten there a lot earlier to allow time to get up to the stage so i could actually see weezer while i heard the music.

Foo Fighters w/ Smear on lead at the Ritz back when Colour & the Shape came out = the hot shit.
7/17/2005 11:47:44 PM
Free shows = never, ever worth it.I wish Weezer & the Foo Fighters would come to NC, but for some reason I doubt it.
7/18/2005 12:03:02 AM
^yeah, i had my doubts to begin with. ive seen weezer 6 times, so it was more of just nothing going on in asheville on a saturday night, might as well check out it out type of thing.

OH SNAP

Well, if you have MTV2, you can now watch the video for "We Are All in Love". As if the song could somehow get any worse, MTV has deemed the word "drugs" offensive it seems (even though it is an anti-drugs song), and "on drugs" has been changed to "in love".It is truly amazing how far this band has fallen.
9/21/2005 11:31:41 AM
they used to be my favorite. their new album is one of the gayest albums I've ever listened to.
9/21/2005 11:35:45 AM
Pinkerton was awesome. nothing but shit after that.
9/21/2005 11:40:15 AM

10/28/2005 11:02:58 AM
i meant the rest of the songs from the black hole, you know, back when they were a great band instead of decent band at best with a few good songs here and there.and if they are taking an extended break, i dont know that id be all that interested if they ever came back. not unless they completely change again.

^ That's it, but we don't have recordings of a lot of those songs. Here's a good site for SFTBH discussion: http://www.diversifiedrecords.com/SFTBHpod/If I could hear an actual recording of Superfriend, other than the shitty bootleg from the sound booth on the Video Capture Device DVD, I could care less if they ever recorded another album again.

sometimes i kinda wish deep down thatweezer broke up in 1997 and never made anymore music. it's not some asshole elitist notion on my part... it just seems that they reached an artistic pinnacle and have slowly declined since.]
