my hawk is getting reincarnated!i took the fucker apart today, had to redo the wiring and i figured might as well do a makover.I'm gonna try to bring the styling up to date a little bit, as well as do something different fom whats out there nowall of it for under a couple of hundred dollaz of course, i've been spending too much on tools lately so it'll be racebike to streetfighter conversion.. im still gonna leave all the safety wiring and the clip-ons for whenever i go to the track but i'm gonna try to steer it towards the street.im thinkin underseat or under pan exhaust with my current supetrapp muffler (the fucker doesnt muffle anything at all as far as my neighbours are concerned, it's there moslty for the sake of backpressure. or maybe ill make some baffles to go into the header and just get a 2'' slashcut tip.prolly do some fiberglass work, move the tach around a bit, clean up the wiring and do something with the lights, reroute brake lines and small stuff like thatim thinking rhino liner for the paint job.i might have to remove the airfilter and stash the battery and all the electrical bullshit under the tank, cause i cant think of any other place to put them.hafta do the maintanance bullshit and flush the fluids and all.tailsection and subframe have to be reworked, and be strong enough and have space for a 12 baroh yeah and it needs to be ergonomic enough for touring, im taking a roadtrip during spring break out west through the deals gap and atlanta as far as i can get. im not saying comfortable, but my balls need to stay intact.prolly sounds crazy but thats how the gs project sounded before i got started, so hopefully it'll turn out fine.i'd appreciate any ideas you guys might have.here's what im working withhere's what people have done beforehere's the kinda stuff i likeas far as touring goes:[Edited on February 9, 2005 at 2:03 AM. 2001 Ducati 748, salavage title, mostly used as a track bike. I'll post pictures within 7 days as it is getting repainted right now.

2/10/2005 1:55:23 AM
how much for the 748?
2/10/2005 7:42:06 AM
fiveeight8 stated that he wanted $1,800 for the bike and 2 helmets to me in a PM.Seemed a bit much to me. But, this would also be my first bike. Regardless though, since I don't feel like spending that much on my first bike since you're likely to lay it down once or twice.[Edited on February 10, 2005 at 10:54 AM. Reason : asdf]
2/10/2005 10:54:03 AM
I'm not sure I want to sell it so that price is a little high. I think. I bought it for $2k a year and a half ago (without helmets). It runs just as good as the day I got it and shines the same aswell.edit: It's never been layed down. It's so light it's hard to ever drop it, it's a great beginner bike. Not too fast, but faster than any car I've ever driven.[Edited on February 10, 2005 at 11:20 AM. Reason : asdf]
