so a few pages back i think someone brought up cheap makeup. just got back from target (always a good decision for my wallet) and i suggest elf makeup. it's super duper cheap but for the money it's pretty damn good. quick break down of purchases100 eyeshadow pallet - $10black and brown gel eyeliner (with a brush that is actually not a piece of total crap) - $3 eachblush - $3they also had a bunch of other stuff. def worth trying out and if you end up not liking it, well you're only out 3 dollars. bought the pallet a few days ago and have been using and i'm pretty pleased with it. lots of colors. both matte and shimmery. i'm excited to try out a bunch of tutorials i have on pintrest.tl;dr - elf makeup is cheap and awesome. it is at target.]
11/3/2011 8:46:21 PM
not a fan of elf at all. cheap yes, high quality no...BUT good to buy for messing around with stuff.
11/3/2011 10:29:35 PM
like i said. cheap makeup. it's not going to give you the same affect as urban decay or anything i agreebut id put it on the same level as other drugstore makeup but at half the price
11/3/2011 10:32:11 PM
Hope that works, crazy hat but tempted to buy it just for shits and giggles.
11/3/2011 10:47:16 PM
while on the topic of cheap makeup (or any, for that matter), I found this to be pretty interesting! and potentially helpful, of course. Fix your busted eyeshadows, etc!http://www.painted-ladies.com/breaking-down-beauty-fixing-broken-powder-cosmetics/

I got my IUD out on Friday and started my BC pills Sunday (ortho tri cyclen, what I was on with zero issues before I got the IUD in) and OMG my hormones are so out of whack. Random crying and serious lack of patience this week. Anyone have any tricks to take care of this?
11/4/2011 8:46:26 AM
try a different pill? i have never had any of those kinds of issuses from my pill.
11/4/2011 8:48:33 AM
^^I used Orthotricyclin without any issues, but your experience sounds exactly like mine on Yaz. I wanted to try a lower dose hormone, and that completely threw me out of whack, so I went back to generic orthotrisprintec, and I haven't had any issues. I'd call back at the end of this month and get a switch to something else. I'd give it through the month though, because sometimes the issue will resolve itself.
11/4/2011 8:58:22 AM
im going to give it a bit longer, i havent even been on it a week. and i've read that you can have a "mirena crash." today hasnt been as bad the past couple days, but it has just started.
11/4/2011 9:21:29 AM
only my dumb ass could burn a nip with a hair straightener
11/4/2011 9:22:33 AM
as all over the place as my emotions can get with normal hormone fluctuations, i can not even imagine what i would be like on the pill
11/4/2011 9:23:07 AM
^^ aaaaaahahahahai'm sure there are plenty of creepers on tww that will volunteer to kiss it better
11/4/2011 9:24:19 AM
i learned a long time ago to always wear a t-shirt while straightening my hair. I once dropped a curling iron and it hit me in three places while falling , boob, stomach, thigh. no scars ]
11/4/2011 9:29:22 AM
GOD SAVE THE QUEEN MINKA'S BOOBIE
11/4/2011 9:34:53 AM
I dropped a motorcycle wheel on my leg yesterday, and now I have a nasty bruise. I'm pretty sure I would kill myself with a hair iron.
11/4/2011 12:01:03 PM
so no one has any tips for attempting to manage my mood swings while getting used to my new pills?
11/4/2011 1:11:56 PM
no
11/4/2011 1:12:24 PM
if we knew how to manage our moods better then wouldn't you think there be some kind of big article written about it, maybe a nobel prize to the person who figured it out... or a holiday commemorating it? ]
11/4/2011 1:14:55 PM
i was just wondering if there were any herbs or anything that anyone took that helped. i know they exist, i wanted to know if anyone had taken any and they had worked.
11/4/2011 1:16:17 PM
I heard the herb Prozac works wonders
11/4/2011 1:18:13 PM
that would be niceone of the articles says lavender oil could help, and i have that here. might try it next time i get all weepy.[Edited on November 4, 2011 at 1:20 PM. Reason : .]
11/4/2011 1:20:28 PM
Y'all be nice. I just googled this, natural ways to manage mood swings. I have no idea if it's valid or not, but you could give it a try, and let us know for future use!http://www.lifescript.com/Health/Conditions/Womens-health/PMS/How_To_Manage_Mood_Swings_Naturally.aspx
11/4/2011 1:21:03 PM
Thanks. I read that one. I'm going to try the yoga and physical exercise when I stop feeling pukey (and no, i'm not pregnant )
11/4/2011 1:23:42 PM
I wasn't being mean. I don't have any remedies.I just deal with it and move on to the next day.
11/4/2011 1:25:01 PM
Yeah, I think exercise is going to be key. When I had the crazy mood swings from Yaz, I would just try and remind myself "This is not what you really think, stop getting upset" and then try not to get upset that the boyfriend was out studying and not with me... yeah, that crazy.
11/4/2011 1:25:26 PM
yeah, i'm not letting it ruin my days or anything, I just haven't had mood swings like this in a very long time. I guess I was 19, because it was right before I was diagnosed with the polycystic ovarian syndrome. it's just super annoying to be watching a hockey game and just start crying for no reason.
11/4/2011 1:27:32 PM
oh snap, I didn't mean to be mean I'm a bit moody too lol
11/4/2011 1:28:25 PM
I took no one's comments as being mean, lol. Today is apparently not one of my moody days...yet.[Edited on November 4, 2011 at 1:30 PM. Reason : .]

^Should I warn Matt?
11/4/2011 1:50:17 PM
11/4/2011 1:52:25 PM
lol, you can. I haven't been snippy or anything with anyone. It's just mainly random crying.
11/4/2011 1:52:59 PM
I don't think Matt would handle random crying very well. He'd probably just offer you some scotch.
11/4/2011 1:53:49 PM
lol. tell him to bring scotch then, we have nothing even close to scotch, he drank the last of my whiskey one of the last times he was here.

^^Where is that from? I think MY GIRLFRIEND would be all about it
11/5/2011 7:00:22 PM
i tried the "every day wave" from the lauren conrad site...i am in no way skilled enough with a curling iron to make it work...it's going to take a whole lot of practice to get that down pat...[Edited on November 5, 2011 at 8:18 PM. Reason : dsf]

Wow, I really want that.
11/6/2011 9:58:19 AM
I don't think I could wear that anywhere. Maybe in Vegas or something? Also, I don't think I'd want to draw that much attention to myself.
11/6/2011 10:01:35 AM
elise concerning your mood swings, I would work out but also watch closely what you eat. Avoid anything too sugary because you don't want to have a sugar crash. Also try not to let your blood sugar get too low. I know when I was trying to figure out all my allergy issues, I had terrible mood swings. A lot of it had to do with eating stuff I wasn't supposed to (my body couldn't metabolize it) but also I have found now that if I stay away from the sugary things and make sure I am eating when I am hungry, it has really helped balance out my hormones. hopefully you're starting to feel better. Hang in there - changing birth controls can really screw with your internal system but you'll be back to normal before you know it We have our engagement photos today! Wohoo! We had to reschedule them from a few weeks ago because of bad weather. And of course this morning I am like "oh I want some new clothes" so I'm going to hit up Marshall's and also the mall because my friend (I hope! Need to make appointment when they open) is going to do my make up

Okay ladies, help, I'm new to this! I need to get my nails filled but you can see the white of my own nail growing under the fake white nail, wtf do they do with that? Am I gonna need to get them re-done? And I dont mean under the platic but you can see the white nail, then my nail, then the pink all from the top of the nail, you can see light through them, hard to eplain, maybe a pic?I'm so not a lady. [Edited on November 6, 2011 at 10:54 AM. Reason : hjvjhv]
11/6/2011 10:51:40 AM
Yeah, you'll need to get them redoneNails grow out, that's just what happensI get mine shortened and backfilled once a month (LCN/gel nails, not acrylics)

Gah someone pinned this on pintrest and Its not on that website! Torture

So I made the retard mistake last year of buying a white jacket. It is decidedly dingy and gross looking this year.As a result, I took advantage of the half off sale at Old Navy and ordered this:http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=55474&vid=1&pid=839574&scid=839574002
11/6/2011 6:37:37 PM
I went to Old Navy this week looking for some good red things to wear to NCSU games and saw their coats. They have some cute styles, but I hate the way they feel. They're so thin and cheap feeling, and the "wool" feels like paper.[Edited on November 6, 2011 at 6:40 PM. Reason : I was sad because there was a cute red cropped jacked I wanted]
11/6/2011 6:39:35 PM
diva - i was thinking about this earlier and related to your previous comment, so you can probably give me some ideas. what are some clothing stores you would recommend that are about the same price point as a place like old navy, but doesn't feel as cheap? does any such place exist?
11/6/2011 6:45:43 PM
I kind of like that their jackets are thin. It doesn't really get cold enough down here to don a full out coat And I would never buy one of these things at full price that's for sure.
