I watched about 20 minutes or so and only have this commentary: He flubbed a lot, but not too bad. And Pelosi looked/acted crazy. I'm almost positive she was drunk or on a lot of pills, probably both. I'm serious. At one point she stood up and started smiling and rubbing her hands together like Mr. Burns while Biden was talking about "burn pits" in the Middle East, it was weird.(and I found it: https://nypost.com/2022/03/02/nancy-pelosi-sparks-new-sotu-meme-during-biden-burn-pits-moment/more of her bizzarre behavior: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10569077/What-hell-doing-Nancy-Pelosis-bizarre-behavior-distracts-State-Union-viewers.html[Edited on March 2, 2022 at 9:22 AM. Reason : sorry for my pettiness]

I tuned in late, and so that was one of the first things I saw. WTF?! I wondered if she had been doing that all night. But then later I saw her clap like an actual human, so it remains a mystery.
3/2/2022 9:45:32 AM
She kept pursing her lips and grinding her teeth and being all crazy-eyed. She also kept leaning over and saying things to Kamala, it looked like Kamala eventually just started ignoring her (again, this is just based on the 20 or so minutes that I watched.) I can't really speak to what Biden was saying, he jumbled his words quite a bit, but I really was distracted watching crazy-face Pelosi.
3/2/2022 10:00:30 AM
I watched the whole thing, he definitely had quite a few speaking stumbles/flubs, but nothing too terrible. Overall I though it was fine. The Pelosi burn pit thing was quite strange, but I assumed it was some legislation or something she had been working on or pushing for that she was excited about finally coming out?

I think "Defund the Police" is just a catchy phrase that doesn't mean much and is largely impractical. How about "Reform the Police"?
3/2/2022 7:35:30 PM
What about fund the police
3/2/2022 7:49:12 PM
how about
3/2/2022 7:57:42 PM
How about
3/2/2022 9:19:28 PM
I didn't realize he was on the "WFH IS BAD" train my god.
3/2/2022 11:37:27 PM
Well, he's old.And he constantly works from his house! OMG, the hypocrisy!
3/3/2022 8:44:09 AM
Also, wouldn't the significant reduction in commuting associated with working from home be congruent with administration environmental and climate goals?
3/3/2022 11:34:11 AM
But what about the rich donors and their real estate investments?
3/3/2022 11:37:23 AM
is he on the "WFH bad!" train or is he simply saying "people can feel safe to return to the office"? From my experience in the tech sector, WFH/hybrid is pretty much here to stay
3/3/2022 11:37:46 AM
yeah, if I'm forced back to working in the office I'll point to gas prices and be like....nah.
3/3/2022 1:59:55 PM
Not that I expect everyone to share the same opinion as me, but I prefer hybrid over total remote.
3/3/2022 2:23:17 PM
Yeah, hybrid's a'ight. . .
3/3/2022 2:28:45 PM
This might as well be posted here, since it seems to be getting a lot of attention from Joe Biden's critics.https://www.nytimes.com/2022/03/16/us/politics/hunter-biden-tax-bill-investigation.html

3/18/2022 6:41:18 PM
why wouldnt the media run with it?
3/18/2022 7:20:10 PM
Because they have information it’s a fake/planted/rat fucked story and they too have seen a trend of right wing bullshit stories too?[Edited on March 18, 2022 at 7:38 PM. Reason : Right wing media will run with it regardless.]
3/18/2022 7:35:15 PM
youd think adam schiff would shoot it down...
3/19/2022 7:57:34 PM
3/28/2022 12:10:06 PM
I doubt you'll see anything of the 2020 scale until the Republicans control everything again.
3/28/2022 2:22:37 PM
I'm very disappointed it doesn't seem to expand on programs like in Colorado where a socialworker is dispatched with an officer for lots of domestic/non-violent calls.
3/28/2022 3:38:14 PM
During the campaign people on this board told me "upfund the police" was just campaign lies and wouldn't ever be a real thing
3/28/2022 6:53:26 PM
Please call out those folks, because most normal people know that is dumb
3/28/2022 7:20:40 PM
lol who told you that? I'm pretty sure no one did.
3/28/2022 7:42:37 PM
dumber sounding phrase, Defund the Police or Upfund the Police? i say it's a tie.
3/28/2022 7:56:27 PM
Looking back ^^^^this is wrong. Anger clouded my memory. People just said it's fine to give an extra $300 mil in funding. Not sure how they feel about 100x more[Edited on March 28, 2022 at 7:58 PM. Reason : Upfund was just used to point out the opposite position]
3/28/2022 7:57:43 PM
It's 32 billion over 10 years, the details of the program haven't been released. He's also giving more funding to DoJ to investigate and prosecute civil rights cases, have ATF more active in gun control cases, and increase community violence interventions programs. Why be angry until you actually know where the money is going and what programs the 32B will fund?
3/28/2022 8:11:12 PM
https://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/briefing-room/2022/03/28/fact-sheet-president-bidens-budget-invests-in-reducing-gun-crime-to-make-our-communities-safer/I know I'm not as left wing as you, but it's pretty solid imho.
3/28/2022 8:13:45 PM
Bc law enforcement doesn't need additional funds? Leaders saw a massive popular movement across the country and have done the opposite of what the people wanted.
3/28/2022 8:16:27 PM
Defund the police doesn't poll at 50%...
3/28/2022 8:22:52 PM
There's a 3rd choice
3/28/2022 8:24:04 PM
https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2021/10/26/growing-share-of-americans-say-they-want-more-spending-on-police-in-their-area/
3/28/2022 8:24:57 PM
I wonder if that at all related to the increase in stories about crime waves that have been permeating the media.Regardless I try to form my political positions on what I think is right not what's popular. Almost 50% of Americans think/thought Donald Trump is a good choice for the president
3/28/2022 8:28:30 PM
Then why was your first comment "It's what the people wanted"?
3/28/2022 8:29:50 PM
The people in the massive popular movement?
3/28/2022 8:30:50 PM
Sigh, don't be obtuse. You literally went from "Biden is doing something that goes against what is popular!!" to "well it doesn't matter if something is popular"You don't support an increase in funding of police, cool, go with that. Personally I'll wait to see where the funds are going before making a judgment.
3/28/2022 8:34:28 PM
I'll admit to poorly communicating my point but not to meaning what you said. I meant the opposite of what the people protesting wanted.I won't go so far as to say democratic leaders made promises but they spoke to understanding what the protestors wanted, then made no attempt to sell the idea and immediately tried to blame it for underperformance.[Edited on March 28, 2022 at 8:41 PM. Reason : My first post mentioned protests for a reason]
3/28/2022 8:40:14 PM
Instead of admitting you poorly communicated a point, just admit you are on the minority of whatever woke ass shit you are trying to promote, which you over the course of a few days have failed to connect with almost anyone.
3/28/2022 10:47:02 PM
Over the course of a few days? And tww is basically a blog, there's like 10 people here, I've been talking to myself for a year until bbehe showed back up. Almost every one on this site is left leaning centrist, im about the only "dissenting" viewpoint left. I don't really post here expecting gangs of praise from people, especially you.
3/28/2022 11:13:45 PM
Yes over the course of a few days, not that your woke ass shit EVER applies just saying
3/29/2022 12:21:53 AM
^^What about daaave?
3/29/2022 6:43:52 AM
He implied he was gone-ish, but yea he is def farther left than me
3/29/2022 7:30:05 AM
And nothing of value was lost lol
3/29/2022 8:06:20 AM
4/2/2022 12:34:04 PM
It would make more sense to wait until October to cancel debt then, would it not?
4/2/2022 8:19:17 PM
If you think that people would forget a huge financial boon and were morally bankrupt, then yes[Edited on April 2, 2022 at 8:49 PM. Reason : They aren't going to do it in October either though ]
