OMAR TWEETINI say let him walk. A rebuilding team has no business paying two RB's top dollar. Stewart + Goodson is still a fringe top 10 tandem.
7/26/2011 1:13:02 PM
what happens when some other team signs Deangelo and Stewart can't play because his toe hurts
7/26/2011 1:14:33 PM
It would only matter if that made the difference between 7 or 8 wins vs 9 or 103-13 vs 4-12 isn't worth the financial commitment
7/26/2011 1:16:42 PM
last time we went 1-15 we followed it up by 7-9 and then a Super Bowl appearance the next yearwe should have .500 on our radar regardless of how shitty we were last year, too much parity in the league]
7/26/2011 1:17:55 PM
adam schefter reporting the panthers actually may NOT resign Deangelo...we'll see
7/26/2011 1:22:32 PM
You obviously have more faith in Cam than most
7/26/2011 1:22:53 PM
we won 12 regular season games with Jake Delhomme a couple years ago, so yeahof course approaching .500 this year assumes guys like Thomas Davis play 16 games]

7/26/2011 4:37:39 PM
I'm sure he'd have on a Vancouver shirt if Boston hadn't won the Cup this year
7/26/2011 4:40:09 PM
I hope Smith made him bring some more Cactus Cooler
7/26/2011 5:06:03 PM
He probably forgot to bring Smith any Cactus Cooler, felt bad that he had let him down, and apologized to Jon Beason

Heard on the radio that Denver has backed out of the dangerous talks
7/26/2011 5:57:16 PM
D-will did state that he wanted to stay a Panther. I don't want to over pay for him, but I would love to have him and Stew behind Cam.... III
7/26/2011 6:43:16 PM
^^ Zarzour?
7/26/2011 7:01:17 PM
^^ pretty much how i feel. the RB position is the most expendable position in the league, but he means a lot to both the team and community, so i hope he stays for a reasonable price. he's getting older in running back years, but not having to carry the entire load over his career i think bodes well for his productivity, IF he can stay healthy
7/26/2011 7:08:44 PM
^^yeah Hitman said a caller mentioned that he had seen it on NFL Network
7/26/2011 7:40:48 PM
Gotcha. I was wondering how he would be scooping the national guys on that. Makes more sense now.
7/26/2011 8:03:30 PM
haha just realized my phone autocorrected Deangelo to Dangerous
7/26/2011 9:12:46 PM
i just took it for what it was

Imagine getting 30 million dollarsas a fucking bonus on top of your actual salary [Edited on July 26, 2011 at 9:48 PM. Reason : You heard it here first...Johnson gets 7 or less sacks next year]
7/26/2011 9:47:56 PM
he gets 7 sacks ........and in week 2 he tears an ACL

I know we offered to make Pep the highest defensive player in NFL history in 2009 and he declinedWhy is Florio implying that he would've signed with us the next year?
7/26/2011 9:57:44 PM
Panthers were in ultimate cost-saving mode last year. Richardson was bracing for a lockout and trying to lead by example.Different year, different salary cap. But $76 million is a lot of goddamn money for a 1-year wonder.
7/26/2011 10:00:41 PM
I guess we offered to make Peppers the highest paid defensive player in NFL history after the 08 and 09 seasons, both times we ended up franchising him. Point is, Florio acts like it was some foregone conclusion that Peppers would've signed a longterm deal with us.And if Johnson sucks ass we won't have to pay him half of $76 million
7/26/2011 10:05:32 PM
it did kind of strike me as odd to hear repeatedly on the drive that johnson MUST BE RE-SIGNED. i mean i know he's only 25 and had a great year, but it was only one year. i think he'll be good, but i'm not sure we'd be completely destitute if he'd gone elsewhere
7/26/2011 10:17:33 PM
i think it would have been hard to get anyone any better to come here though
