6/11/2010 1:25:23 PM
fuck espn3 for being down. called them up and they said their remote access servers are down. bullshit.
6/11/2010 1:49:11 PM
well...since i picked mexico and south africa to advance from the group... here's to uruguay and france looking just as beatable
6/11/2010 1:51:11 PM
ABF
6/11/2010 2:01:26 PM
uh-oh, espn3 links do nothing...it admins may have blocked something...though I doubt it...
6/11/2010 2:02:41 PM
hahahah fuck MexicoRSA deserved 3, they were clearly the better team after 20 minutes.
6/11/2010 2:03:45 PM
the servers are down, that is why the links are not working
6/11/2010 2:10:00 PM
clearly, really? after 20 mins to the end of the half mexico were clearly the better team. then south africa looked the better the first half of the 2nd half until mexico levelled. then south africa pretty much packed it in and kept one guy up top and sending long balls to him. clearly a tie was the right result. i hate mexico too but they werent the worst team out there today....[Edited on June 11, 2010 at 2:11 PM. 6/11/2010 2:10:56 PM
I didn't say they dominated but they had the better chances and I thought they deserved the win
6/11/2010 2:15:16 PM
^^ thats about right. Mexico took it to them early and often...then SA pushed back and got the goal, then shut it down. Stupid mistake by SA gave Mexico the goal and both teams pretty much played for the draw.
6/11/2010 2:17:29 PM
South Africa had a game plan and it worked and probably should have gotten the winner lateMexico rarely threatened after 20 minutes aside from the Vela offsides and the goal
6/11/2010 2:19:30 PM
yeah, my reading comprehension fails. I started running wireshark and seeing if shit was coming back bad when I found that nothing at all is being sent when I was clicking on the links. fuckin espn.
6/11/2010 2:19:41 PM
^^YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE AN OPINION THAT CONFLICTS WITH OTHER SOCCER SCHOLARS!
6/11/2010 2:19:44 PM
i thought they had equal chances when it was all said and done. giovanni dos santos had two shots that were gonna be goals blocked in the first half with his first chance a def goal since half of the goal was wide open. he also just brushed past the post from 25 out with the keeper nowhere near it. mexico also had 2 wide open headers off free kicks in the first half too. south africa had the goal, a shot hit the post, maybe another good chance that i cant think of, and then a bunch of terrible crosses with maybe 1 or 2 close crossesmexico rarely threatened? i dont think you watched all the game then...and yeah south africa did well pushing out wide with overlapping runs, not sure why mexico played so narrow in the back and continued to all game, but it shows the lack of class south africa has since they had so many crosses and rarely connected with any of them[Edited on June 11, 2010 at 2:22 PM. 6/11/2010 2:20:53 PM
oh well okay. Tie is the "right" result then.
6/11/2010 2:21:25 PM
I can't imagine it's enjoyable to be in the stadium listening to those fucking locusts for 90 minutes.
6/11/2010 2:21:55 PM
BBC also has a nice feed as well. Im watching it now. What other online feeds are people watching?
6/11/2010 2:22:15 PM
it is to me since i dont believe you watched this whole game or just have selective memorythe last 20 minutes of the game south africa just pumped long balls forward rec league style...that is hardly dominating to me.once pienaar came off they definitely lost the gameplan or were content with kicking it deepg[Edited on June 11, 2010 at 2:26 PM. 6/11/2010 2:23:13 PM

6/11/2010 2:24:09 PM

I knew nothing about Uruguay, the country, other than the fact that a lot of their squad plays in Europe...But wow, they only have 3.4 million people and they have a damn good roster. Amazing they have the infrastructure to build such a strong squad... I'm definitely rooting for them today.[Edited on June 11, 2010 at 2:32 PM. From the vuvuzela wiki article.Vuvuzelas have been controversial.[2] They have been associated with permanent noise-induced hearing loss[3], a possible safety risk when spectators can't hear evacuation announcements[4], potentiality spreading colds and flu germs on a greater scale than coughing or shouting[5][6]. Commentators have described the sound as "annoying" and compared it with "a stampede of noisy elephants,"[7] "a deafening swarm of locusts"[8] and "a goat on the way to slaughter"[9].lolThe world football governing body, FIFA, wanted to ban the use of vuvuzelas during the World Cup 2010 because of concerns that hooligans could use the instrument as a weapon and that businesses could place advertisements on vuvuzelas. However the South African Football Association (SAFA) made a presentation that vuvuzelas were essential for an authentic South African football experience,[2] and FIFA decided in July 2008 to drop the ban, allowing vuvuzelas at Confederations Cup.[18] President of FIFA Sepp Blatter opposed banning the vuvuzela, saying "We should not try to Europeanise an African World Cup."[19] FIFA ultimately decided to allow the instrument for the 2010 World Cup as well,[20] except for Vuvuzelas being longer than one metre
