Not having the same issues, and I have a wireless N router behind it too. I did have to restart the whole shebang a couple weeks ago but been fine since then.

Just got U-verse yesterday. It took us like 3 trues to get it hooked up, something-equipment broke somewhere up the street. But it's been fine so far. They also mailed me a DSL modem for some reason (been on the dining room table for a month) and dude yesterday said we didn't (never) needed it and to mail it back to them. I hope we don't get charged for something with that. Also, I don't know what any of the channels are yet. And I've gotta build a shelf in the garage to put the doodad on so i don't drive over it one day. But that's no biggie.
9/27/2011 3:12:51 PM
The doodad?DON'T START WITH THAT BULLSHIT TECHNICAL JARGON IN HERE, SON.
9/27/2011 3:15:42 PM
And honestly, doodad usually means smaller thing to me, not like an internet gateway.

Thinking of getting this for my internet access, but don't want to have to buy the 100 dollar 2Wire rougher that ATT is telling me I have to. Any thoughts on this?
11/3/2011 6:05:46 PM
they want $100 for that piece of shit 2wire router?
11/3/2011 6:15:17 PM
Get TV + Internet, cancel TV within 30 days but keep Internet
11/3/2011 7:01:59 PM
This will work?Nevermind. It'll only work if I get a higher grade TV package and avoid the 200 dollar installation fee. But that bumps my 18 dollar internet discount down to 6 months instead of 12. [Edited on November 3, 2011 at 7:52 PM. Reason : s]
11/3/2011 7:47:05 PM
Be careful. I had to go through the BBB to get them to take U-Verse TV off my bill. That was the only thing that worked after maybe 6-7 calls.
11/4/2011 12:22:47 PM
I have internet only right now. I kept TV for a while though before canceling, probably close to a year. I also signed up a while back, so maybe the rules have changed since then.

TWC OH WE BACK
1/4/2012 4:59:13 PM
So I'm moving and need to decide between TWC again or U-verse. I hate TWC, but it seems like U-verse is worse. Am I right?
1/12/2012 3:59:36 PM
it was for usdoes charlotte have Verizon FiOS yet?
1/12/2012 4:03:36 PM
I don't know, I'll check Also looking at Windstream
1/12/2012 4:08:31 PM
I've had no issues with either twc or uverseuverse has the superior tv option though, primarily because twc DVRs suck butt (unless that's changed recently)
1/12/2012 7:10:22 PM
honestly after having uverse internet and television, i wish i could have uverse internet and twc tv. the wireless box for the tv is constantly not working.
1/13/2012 12:36:50 AM
Slave,I have U-Verse here in Charlotte and I love it. I don't know anything about the wireless TV box mentioned above because I have an older box that's hardwired but I've never had any of the internet issues that some people have mentioned in this thread. I also have one of the lower internet packages, i think it's only 3 or 5 MB down but it works well enough for me and I never have any issues with streaming, media servers, or online gaming. The only thing it can be a little slow on is HD video buffering on youtube.
1/13/2012 8:53:05 AM
directv tv + twc internet
1/13/2012 9:05:38 AM
ATT sucks. Compare the prices for internet speeds. ATT sells you a bundle with the Granny Plan for internet...then bend you over when you call to get your speeds upgraded. They must throttle the internet connection to make sure you do not get any better speed than you are paying for. TWC bundles the 10mbps internet, then usually delivers way faster speeds. If I am completely honest I liked ATT's TV better but it was about $100 a month more and the customer service was FUCKING HORRIBLE.

1/14/2012 1:58:00 AM
as my complex does not allow satellite dishes I was down to TWC and U-Verse and i've had zero issues with U-Verse. But ^^ is correct, the intro-bundles come with the low capped internet (which has been suitable for me) but is way over priced once the introductory price ends.
1/16/2012 4:38:11 PM
NICEjust got FiOS installed

1/24/2012 3:20:05 PM
^^is 30 the max? While I like 50mbps on TWC I wish the 5mbps upload was more. My AT&T hotspot gets 30/10. lol.
1/24/2012 3:23:10 PM
i pay for 25/25, so 30 is better than what I pay for
1/24/2012 3:30:20 PM
How much is that plan you got? AT&T tells me like 35/month.
1/24/2012 3:58:18 PM
TV (middle HD tier) + 25/25 internet is like $110/month for a year, then it goes to $120/month
1/24/2012 5:22:22 PM
Heh, I'm not even in their service area anyway. I guess its TWC again after all.
1/24/2012 5:40:35 PM

god uverse for the TV sucks so bad
1/30/2012 4:52:46 PM
fuck this shit where you pay extra for a second receiver, but can only watch hd on one TV at once
1/30/2012 5:26:56 PM
I'm glad I saw this thread. I have DTV for tv and TWC for internet right now. I got whatever the highest package is with DTV and needless to say, I'm paying out the ass. A guy came by the other day saying UVerse is being installed in my neighborhood and because I have an ATT iphone I can basically get everything that I have now for half the price. Is Uverse really that bad? I get about 30mbps right now with TWC. my parents have uverse and like it but I found the interface to be frustrating, but supposedly it's changed.
1/30/2012 7:19:07 PM
has anyone been successful with haggling internet prices after the introductory offer expires? $38/month for the lowest tier internet with downstream of Up to 3 Mbps is ridiculous. how should i approach them? They know my complex doesn't allow satellite so it's either u-verse or TWC and i'm not going to TWC.
3/6/2012 10:51:44 AM
3/6/2012 11:35:21 AM
when i signed up i received the Pro level internet (regularly $38) for $19/month for 1 year.
3/6/2012 11:37:56 AM
Nice.Only thing I can say as far as their pricing goes is if you drop your service down (package, premiums, internet etc) they'll often offer promotions (X months free, Visa Gift Cards etc), even if you just came off similar promotions.
3/6/2012 1:28:55 PM
When I canceled U-Verse in the middle of the month AT&T did not send me a refund for the extra half payment I made. I called four months later and was told I have a "credit" on my account. I had to request that they send me a check for the difference. Of course it took 30 minutes of phone time to get to the right department and speak to an actual person since it was AT&T.Just an FYI. That's a pretty shady business tactic IMO. If there was any question about how to refund my extra payment they could have just asked when I called to cancel the service.
3/6/2012 3:09:59 PM
^ Why did you cancel? Save money through TWC or Direct?
3/6/2012 3:40:51 PM
TWC rep came to my door and offered me a normal TV package (pretty comparable to the U200 package on Uverse) with internet, digital phone, no upcharge for HD channels, etc. for $79/month. I added HBO and a second receiver, but it's still $35 less/month than I was paying with ATT. The internet seems faster and I did not have HD channels or digital phone with ATT, so it seems like a no brainer.[Edited on March 7, 2012 at 1:49 PM. Reason : s]
3/7/2012 1:48:41 PM
^ how long is the rate good for?did you do the 2 year price lock thing?
3/7/2012 2:03:24 PM
I want to switch back. U-Verse is just too damned expensive.
3/7/2012 4:14:26 PM
It is expensive, but I'm not sure TWC is any cheaper...at least not for any sustained amount of time. plus for me at least i'd have to pay extra for the total home dvr thing, which i think is standard with uverse. i hate TWC, but if i could get a hold of a screaming promotion for TWC for at least a year, i'd probably switch to save some $.

3/8/2012 6:39:22 AM
3/8/2012 7:35:55 AM
are the TWC DVRs still garbage?that's the big reason i'm sticking with uverse
3/8/2012 1:26:26 PM
^ I have a Cisco Explorer 8642HDC. It's an incredible piece of shit.
3/8/2012 1:43:36 PM
Is this worth investigating for business internet?I don't need blazing speeds. It's for use at a personal training center. To be used for streaming music and video. Uploading media to social media sites, blogging, light business admin work [Edited on March 11, 2012 at 11:37 AM. Reason : ;]
