George Washington also wasn't black, had a white mother, and a (in a sense) non-American father and he turned out just fine.

In fact, you may be interested to know that a number of Presidents have had white mothers and also haven't been black.

No but somehow Obama is considered black by blacks and gets 90% of their vote while at the same time not being black at all he can still get white votes he couldn't get if he was black. He straddles both sides of the fence then goes out and tears down his own grandmother (the same woman that raised him after his African dad left and his mom ran off and didn't care) to try and draw more feelings from the black vote and denounces his wild preacher of 20 years to keep white vote AS IF HE DIDN'T KNOW HIM. If you disagreed so much with what a pastor taught you would't be in his church for 20 years period. You also wouldn't call yourself "intimate" with him and have him baptizing your kids. You would find another church. He's a lier and a disloyal sellout.

You may be shocked to find this out, but since the tail end of the 1960s, almost 100% of black voters have voted for a white candidate for President.

And people forget that Hillary had the majority of the black vote just last year - it was her and her husband who turned them away.

well i havent carefully read all 29 pages of this thread, but everytime someone posts anything criticizing Obama, there are a handful of people who ALWAYS and I mean always find a way to defend and dismiss the criticism as absolutely nothing, or to simply bring up another candidate and how they have acted/responded in a similar way

So why don't some of the Obama supporters point out one single tiny negative flaw that Obama has to dispel the myth that people think he's perfect

That's probably because the guilt-by-association/misinterpretation BS is nothing.

And it's "every time," not "everytime."

Boone no one is saying guilt by association, and you know it. We are questioning the man's judgement. He is basically an unknown with no real record, and is running on this superior judgement. And people get attacked for questioning it.

Just wait until people really start looking at Obama's record. Shit, he's more liberal than Jimmy Carter.

Keep the change.

Quote :
"Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., was the most liberal senator in 2007, according to National Journal's 27th annual vote ratings. The insurgent presidential candidate shifted further to the left last year in the run-up to the primaries, after ranking as the 16th- and 10th-most-liberal during his first two years in the Senate."

Well if it takes over 20 yrs to see what kind of man Rev Wrong is, how can you trust his judgement with foreign leaders? The truth is we want to know what the man truely believes. He says one thing, but the company he keeps paint a different picture. Do I think obama is a very religious man? Probably not. He uses the church for political gain. Do I think he believes in black liberation? Kinda. Just from keeping in that church, the pastor, and comments from his wife.. it makes sense.

Are those the reasons I wont vote for him? Nope, that is way down the list for me.

It's only -just now- that you've begun legitimate debate.

Up until this point it's been cheap shots and guilt by association.

So you can hardly call anyone out for past posts.

Good point on the david duke. Hell Bush's association with OIL has been pounded into the ground for years. Cheney's halliburton assocations... But when it comes to obama, just look the other way?

One in four Clinton voters (compared to one in ten Obama voters) in West Virginia cited race as an important factor in their decision for whom to vote for according to the Associated Press's exit polls.

It's weird how that works.

hey guys i have a story:

while walking into the voting area during the primaries last week, my friend was like, "so who do you think is going to win the democratic primary here in NC"

this black guy in line listening to us replied "obama duh, we live in a black state".

i lol'd and then he told me he was a republican and voting for neither. i wish twerpball was there, we would've clowned on his ass.

lol

LOL spooky

WV: Exit polls showed that Mrs Clinton won white voters by 68 per cent to 28 per cent.

NC: 91% Blacks for Obama 6% for Clinton.

Ok terp, your lawyer speak might go over well with the other girls in the mail room, but please explain what was your meaning behind asking me if I was born in WV? Just for shits and giggles.

Okay eyedrb, I wasn't talking about race AT ALL. WV has more uneducated voters than most recent contests - and Hillary won BIG there. It isn't a secret that Hillary does GREAT with idiot voters. Your statement was pretty stupid, so I associated you with the stupid voters of WV.

That was my way of calling you an idiot.

yet you had to bring race into it - WAIT, even worse, you accused me of bringing race into it.

You complained that I was pulling the race card when you were the one who was in fact pulling it.

Just for shits and giggles.

And concerning Lawyer speak with girls in the mailroom - fuck off, you don't even understand my job, and neither would 99% of TWW. Easy for you to try play me off as a secretary right? Because you don't understand? Seems like something you would do - when you don't understand something, immediately go retarded on your keyboard

And guess what, WV doesn't have the only Democrats with questions about Obama:

An Unfamiliar Narrative
With Barack Obama, it's about much more than just race.

Quote :
"If a pollster called to ask me about my favorite music, I would lie. I would not admit that my iPod contains not only Hall & Oates but also Dan Fogelberg and The Doobie Brothers. If you really want to get me lying, ask about my recycling habits, the number of Mary Janes I own and whether I surreptitiously go to the checkout counter at the bookstore with the latest Dean Koontz novel tucked under my New Yorker. Some things are just so unfashionable, it is impossible to admit to them. So, too, is racism. No one wants to be seen as a bigot; it reeks of ignorance. However, like Céline Dion, racism still inexplicably prospers. That's why media analysts have been making so much out of the Pew Research Center poll revealing that, to 16 percent of white Democrats, race was the most important or a very important factor in deciding whom to vote for in the primaries. Of those people, 76 percent planned to vote for Clinton. An Associated Press poll reported similar findings. The numbers led The New York Times to ask: 'Is the Democratic Party hesitating about race as it moves to the brink of nominating an African-American to be president?'"

http://www.newsweek.com/id/134324/output/print

Aww, and it's only supposed to be mean old Republicans that have race issues, right?

This fails for two reasons.

A) The Cheney/Halliburton issue wasn't "guilt by association." Cheney did something shifty, which could be explained by his associations. This is not an association fallacy.

Obama has displayed none of the flaws Wright displayed, yet you all are trying to attribute said flaws onto Obama via association. This is an association fallacy.

B) You guys didn't even know this until I dropped that bit of knowledge on you. Therefore to your ignorant minds, the two situations were identical, and yet you still clung to your character attack of Obama using what you admitted were the same methods you denounced when Cheney's associations were questioned.

You partisan hacks.
