for any that care:

Quote :
"An article on the band in Relix magazine, it was stated that "Rodriguez-Lopez is constantly recording solo albums, Volta songs, soundtracks and has filmed almost every moment of The Mars Volta for a movie that he will one day release. As the band tries to figure out how to play Bedlam live, Rodriguez-Lopez already has the next two albums laid out musically and is knee deep in production on the follow up to Bedlam. "It's a mellow album;" he says, "the last one was our most aggressive. The next one we keep calling our acoustic album.""

Quote :
"In an interview with Omar on February 22nd, 2008 before his concert in Copenhagen, Omar mentioned that if the record label doesn't interfere, he expects the new album and the Australian concert DVD to be released by the end of the year, along with 8 of his solo recordings."

nOOb quesiton:

So I downloaded the "Black Kids" album, and it came up as a folder with all the songs. I was able to put it in my itunes in like 20 seconds.

But downloading other albums (downloaded as a .rar file??), it comes up as one big file and won't open up or play in anything (like the Beck album for example). So I'm retarded...how/what do I need to listen to this music and possibly put it on my itunes??

.rar files are like .zip files

they're compressed and need to be unzipped with a program like WinRar

A .rar file is very similar to a .zip file. You have to unpack it. Right click on it and see if your computer already has something installed to do it (it will say "Extract to" or something). If it doesn't, download Winrar http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

Oops I got beat TWICE

Thanks for the answer to the first question.

Now second question (because now I feel even more dumb)...but I can't get the winrar to open or do anything after I've downloaded. Does the fact that I have a mac have anything to do with it?

Haha...I downloaded the mac version.

I just feel like I'm starting all over again with this new mac. I love it and all...but I've been using windows since I was a freshmen in high school. Its just getting a little frustrating having trouble with little things like downloading files and applications and shit.

which means it's time for "vinylbandit rants at ryan adams"

fuck you ryan adams

why are you such an asshole

and why do you hate raleigh

and why do you have to write such excellent songs

because it makes it impossible for me to really hate you

Whiskeytown--Strangers Almanac
hxxp://www.megaupload.com/?d=3Z03U3HE

not sure what the kbps is on this --- if it's below 192, tell me and I'll find a better one.

Tokyo Police Club -- elephant shell

Death Cab for Cutie --- narrow stairs

no idea what the kbps is on this, and it really doesn't matter because it's fucking terrible, imo.

I am looking for an album by band SINALOA and album OCEANS OF ISLANDS. it came out this year.

I was recently turned onto these guys and from listening to their past albums I have already fallen in love. Reminds me EXACTLY of the kind of sound that first got me into the metal/punk/hardcore/deep elm/dischord yadda yadda scene in HS. Not quite sure how I hadnt heard about them before.

It is coming out on Level Plane (pg99, saetia, city of caterpillar, forstella ford, a day in black and white, breather resist, light the fuse and run, hot cross etc etc) if that brings back memories for anyone heh. I actually wouldnt mind their older albums either as I only have like 6 songs from them at the moment. Im going to dig around on some stuff myself tonight too to see what I can find. http://www.purevolume.com/sinaloa if anyone wants to check them out.

I couldn't get into Okkervil River. It wasn't bad, just wasn't really my thing.

I am giving Evil Urges a complete listen through right now. ^You are exactly right, If Highly Suspicious was taken off it may be so much better. I'm thinking of just deleting that one song and pretending it doesn't exist.
