I basically surf the internet for deals and they usually list what inserts the coupons are fromI don't keep inserts or date the coupons. I just look and see if I have the coupon they are referring to. [Edited on March 4, 2009 at 3:36 PM. Reason : f]

Do you have a coupon binder? I think i'm going to make one today bc right now I just have a huge bag full and it needs to be organized. If you do have a binder, do you organize by what it is (makeup, food -then broken down into pasta, yogurt, etc, pets) or by [b]expiration dates[b] or what?
3/4/2009 4:02:38 PM
I do have a coupon binderI also sell coupon bindersfor $25, I sell the binder itself, the dividers, and baseball card inserts for storing the couponsI use categories (Oral Care, Deodarant, Meat/Poultry, Cereal/Cereal Bars, Snacks etc)
3/4/2009 4:05:45 PM
i can not keep up with a coupon binder, but kudos to those of you who canso i have 10 boxes of soy joy anyone want them? a couple boxes may be missing a bar, from when me or a friend tried it. pm me if you are interested.
3/4/2009 4:10:43 PM
so do you just go through every once in a while to see what has expired? thanks for all your helpyou and pawprint are life savers and money savers too
3/4/2009 4:11:09 PM
I used to organize by exp date, and it doesn't fucking work.So now, I do it by categories. I flip through each week when I clip, and take out expired ones. Each category is sem-organized, too...toileties has makeup together, and then hair stuff, and razors, etc.
3/4/2009 4:11:46 PM
yeah, every Sunday before I clip coupons I go through my binder and remove the expired onesI used to use a check file for my coupons (if that's your kind of thing, you can find them in the $1 bins @ Target). I hated having to take all my coupons out in 1 category just to see if I had a coupon for a certain itemUsing the binder system, all your coupons are visible along w/ expiration dates and you can see instantly if you have a coupon or not.I will try and take pics of my binder tonight.[Edited on March 4, 2009 at 4:22 PM. I use hanging files organized by date... it doesn't take long at all to put the inserts in there, and it doesn't take too long to get whatever coupon you need.A handy thing to look at is Sue Stock's coupon database:http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pyGCemKT2mZf5E0--yAiNCQYou can see what coupons are available for which items, and when they expire.
3/4/2009 7:14:39 PM
If anyone needs any of the coupons from this weeks inserts let me know and we can swap

3/5/2009 6:31:52 PM
^a good idea is to get a business card binder too. I found mine at Kmart and it holds all my coupons nicely...and still fits in my purse!
3/5/2009 6:49:52 PM
Okay I got all my supplies! What are are the headings ya'll put in your books/binders?Also, when you are making these books do you put ALL of the coupons or just the ones you think/know you will use and then put the rest in page protectors in the back?
3/5/2009 11:13:46 PM
I find the whole notebook/binder idea absurd, but the categories I use are mainly based upon aisles. For example all the cleaning/paper towels/toilet paper coupons together, pasta, frozen, dog, snacks/munchies, canned stuff each in their own envelope. It really works best when you tailor your system to what you buy and break it down from there.
3/5/2009 11:56:26 PM
my categories are like "baking", "beverages", "cleaning", "oral care", "pet", "snacks" etc^I find the envelope or check file system way too hard to use in the store. I like being able to flip to the category needed in the store and see if I have a coupon for a specific item. The envelope system just seemed to take more time in the store b/c you have to remove all the coupons and then go through them one by one.Plus my binder has a file in the front for me to store the weekly store ads.[Edited on March 6, 2009 at 9:06 AM. For big sales, I'll just write down each thing I plan on buying, then get the coupons, then put them in alphabetical order. I hold them in place with a clothespin. Not the fanciest setup, but it works.
3/6/2009 11:16:11 AM
I have three or four at the front for that specific shopping trip....for example, if I am going to CVS, I put all my CVS q's to use in the front page.My topics are Baking, Sweets, Dairy, Drinks, Frozen, Grains, Soups/Canned, Breakfast, Snacks, Fruits, Meat/Proteins, Razors/Shave Gel, Shampoo, Soap/Body Wash, Stationary, Personal, HIS, Pets, Make Up, Other Restaurants and so on. I like mine to be very specific.
3/6/2009 11:18:05 PM
i'm super bummed about CVS for like the 3rd week in a row the only light at the end of my tunnel right now is the HT Triples on the horizon
3/8/2009 10:47:06 AM
I am glad the crest pro health is FAECB this week. I LOVE their rinse. Doesn't burn like listerine.
3/8/2009 10:50:24 AM
Actually it's 2.99 w/ 2ECB. But if you have the $1 coupon from the inserts it's free.
3/8/2009 11:34:20 AM
Ok I just went to the Crossroads area for the first time in like 3 yearsWhat the hell happened to the CVS off Tryon? It moved to the next street over? And when did they get a Rite Aid? And a Walgreens?so confused.
3/8/2009 5:03:21 PM
the cvs is new, and the rite aid has always been there. the cvs has only been there like 3-4 years
3/8/2009 5:28:22 PM
I remember when I was at STate, I used to get my prescription filled at the CVS at the corner of Tryon and Jones Franklin, near a animal hospitalnow it seems the CVS moved
3/8/2009 7:53:26 PM
yes, the CVS moved, they built the RA, and they built the Wags when they built the HT shopping center in 2007. the whole area has blossomed
3/8/2009 9:41:53 PM
idk where the cvs use to be but the ra has been there since i moved here. i hear you cant get any of the deals at the cvs there
3/8/2009 9:45:11 PM
the cvs used to be at tryon/jones franklin but they either tore it down or made it something else. is that the RA now?that tryon has all the deals if you shop saturday after 6p. typically by noon sunday, anything that is a "good deal" is gone, but i shop saturday evening and have no problem getting everything.
3/8/2009 9:52:21 PM
^ idk where it was but the ra that is there has been there since i moved here like 11 years ago, im pretty sure
3/8/2009 10:45:00 PM
Guess it's pretty late to post this but until midnight tonight they have Bird's Eye Viola meals for 1.99 the rest of the week they are 2.99 so that is still a good deal because they are normally 5. I got beef and brocolli stirfry, sweet and sour chicken, tomato cream penne or something. Anyways not a coupon thing but seemed like a good enough deal.
3/8/2009 11:15:39 PM
^That is a good deal. Bird's Eye meals for 2 had a $2 off coupon recently. Not sure if any of these are the ones on sale but if they are, that would make them super cheap. Thanks for the heads.I have a lot of pampers, clear blue easy, and some other P&G Q's that I don't need if anyone wants them.
3/8/2009 11:18:47 PM
I finished my coupon book and I am SO proud of it it's ridiculous.
