it kind of looks like San Francisco......there's a bay and boats....so i'm assuming it's on the water. unless it's Melbourne or Sydney (Desmond had an Australian accent)

and Nick baby good call on bringing up the pic......obviously the writers wanted us to see that pic.....the girl is probably related to a survivor somehow.

obviously the writers wanted us to see each and every episode

obviously the writers wanted us to know that hurley has long hair and locke has no hair...that' has to mean something

obviously the writers wanted us to know that michael and walt are african american, sun and jin are korean, charlie's british, claire's australian and everyone else is american...that has to mean something

hmmm
sarah is played by the chick from ed and now boston legal

http://images.google.com/images?q=julie+bowen&hl=en

that could be her
but i still doubt it

just like i doubt that was the reason jack chased desmond

well damn, thats a very similar face/smile

as much as those pictures are similar to the woman in the pic with desmond

i think jack would have done more than just poon out and cry while desmond ran off if he had a pic of his ex-wife

obviously sara(h) and jack's marriage is a very touchy subject for jack

desmond will always be connected to jack's marriage by jack

jack losing desmond hurts as much as jack losing his marriage

and we, the audience, understand none of it

that is complete verbal diarrhea. esp the line in bold. that makes no sense whatsoever. why would a lunatic that you don't even really know who is running away from you in the woods on a somewhat isolated island mean as much to you as the break up of your marriage???

good lord talk about ridiculous theories...

btw, that is NOT sarah in that pic. i was a rabid Ed fan and i know that woman's face well. that is NOT her by any stretch of the imagination.

I know the guy on the boat that took walt isn't the same actor as the guy from the video, because the guy on the boat is the naked guy from sideways, and the pilot from conair.

did you not watch the whole confrontation between the two in the woods?

do you have no concept of emotional connection, desparation, and unanswered questions?

we don't know why/how jack's marriage got fucked up

but now, this figure from the past that, to jack, has some significance to his marriage comes back out of nowhere in the most unlikely of places and circumstances. if he doesn't go chase after desmond he loses the opportunity to talk and ask questions and find answers.

and uh...that wasn't even a theory....that was a recap of what actually happened.

[Edited on October 8, 2005 at 1:03 PM. Reason : if you couldn't tell jack was messed up after recognizing desmond, don't watch anymore ]

i cant remember which episode was jack's but i know he met with a person who claimed to be her fiance. he asked if she would still be able to have sex.

then later she asked if her fiance was here and he kinda looked it off and lied about saying he was sure he would be coming.

but i know the guy said it, so you would have to assume he was a liar and/or she was cheating on him.

besides, wouldnt desmond have come to see her?

yeah, the guy that was her fiance and talked to jack in his office was like the stereotypical tool fiance

so contrasting to jack so it would be obvious and make complete sense that jack would marry her (even though we already knew that)

that scene in the office was so bad and so laughable

who made the ridiculous assumption that desmond was engaged to sarah when she had the accident? it showed who her fiancee was, and it was some guy that dumped her when he found out that she would be paralyzed for the rest of her life, and it clearly wasn't desmond.

"like what?"

the guy in the clip getting out of bed and looking into the mirrors doesnt look like desmond (clean shaven, green eyes)

also stuff like a game of backgammon(? i think) still in progress and multiple ping pong paddles

my friend read somewhere that the rooms where laid out differently too (almost mirrors of each other but with some things in different places) it looks like he (or whoever he read) was right

i finally got to see the first 3 ep of the new season today,

^the dude in the begining is not clean shaven, and the ping pong table is set up so that one half is up against a wall (ie so one person can play by himself) i dont think there is any reason to believe its not desmond

most of all i'm just happy to see that Augustus and Adebisi are back together again

looking back through the last episode, while desmond is leaving, it shows a book open on the bed, called The Third Policeman, which you should definately look up, it deals with a ton of stuff thats been going on in the episodes, heres one website http://www.bookslut.com/fiction/2003_12_001145.php

Money, there hasn't been any real discussion on the books that have made an appearance, but I did talk about the possible significance of the inclusion of The Turn of the Screw on page 28. Personally I think that there has to be some significance, especially with this book, because they could have put the film anywhere, but the writers located it specifically behind the book, having Desmond say "on the bookshelf behind The Turn of the Screw" and then zoom in on the cover, all without really showing anything else on the shelf. If you've read the book you'd know that it deals with some of the same ideas as the show, specifically the question of "what is reality?" Even more interesting is the movie "The Others" which is based loosly on the book, which discusses the idea that a person's reality is not always what it seems. Personally, I think the readers are leaving clues as to their influences for the show, as well as ideas of the direction it may take. Good find on this one.

maybe that means this like a roman epic poem

oh yea

the half ping-pong table must relate to the duality of man and how he must always compete against himself
