Of course notYou're the one who said I was "drawing a bunch of attention to it", not me. I figured that attention could be positive. Did I miss something[Edited on October 17, 2011 at 12:01 PM. Reason : I do think if he's made aware of the potential issue at hand, it could curb his yappin.]

I hope he's alredy aware of the potential issues of his actions (and tweets)Anyways, it's encouraging that Warren didn't committ to the Heels on his OV this weekend, i guess.
10/17/2011 12:19:34 PM
^also that he's hanging out in raleigh for a few days and will hopefully stop by for an unofficial.

You people and your Julius Hodge debates.....
10/17/2011 1:08:19 PM
^^ "the facts" meaning the consensus on tww?it's not an ncaa violation to post pictures of yourself at a party on twitter either, but if you just put things out there that seem off maybe someone decides to look closer. that's what i'm getting at.
10/17/2011 1:22:13 PM
does anyone actually know the regulations here, or are you all just speculating about it mattering: 1 - whether he's employed by the university or not2 - whether he refers to the person by name or not 3 - this being a very minor point in the end, even if it is a violation.Being that he's a *highly* public figure involved with NCSU athletics, I'd imagine our compliance people who know the regulations inside and out are watching his tweets like a hawk (and anyone else involved with the athletic program), especially considering the recent UNC football trainwreck, but perhaps that's wishful thinking.]

There's no NCAA rule that says a booster (Hodge) can't say 'we need a good SF' to nobody in particular. (btw, the NCAA manual is free to download from http://www.ncaapublications.com/p-4224-2011-2012-ncaa-division-i-manual-august-2011.aspx)He didn't mention names, didn't send a communication to anyone in particular (tag the tweet). He's fine.

modlin wins

I'm only belaboring this argument because those of you coming to Hodge's defense have some stupid fucking reasoning

Meh. Harrow's videos were just as if not more impressive. As we have seen, when you are that small, your best chance at making an impact in your early years is from outside shooting. He's going to get knocked down, get his shit blocked to the upper deck, or take really bad shots when he goes inside. Not saying he won't be a good player, but it's going to take some time.
10/17/2011 7:54:46 PM
i don't recall harrow having this horrible freshman campaign. he wasn't an all league guy right away but for a freshman i thought he was fine and showed promise.
10/17/2011 8:46:55 PM
Sour grapes. As a freshman pg, he averaged 9.3 pts, 3.3 assists/1.8 turnovers in 23 minutes. Yeah, he only shot 39% from the field (and 87% from the line), but he had a pretty good rookie season. A lot of the PP posters are gonna feel stupid when he's kicking ass at Kentucky next year.
10/17/2011 9:05:15 PM
I thought he showed promise, too, but I don't think he was a net positive. 39% is too low to be worth it, especially if our rebounding sucks ball sack. I also think he will be sick at Kentucky. It all takes time.Given poor rebounding and poor defense, you can almost count a missed shot entirely as turnover. With the first two problems, we needed a better shooting team to have success. Harrow also contributed a lot to poor defense.[Edited on October 17, 2011 at 9:14 PM. Reason : .]
10/17/2011 9:11:54 PM
^^he also couldnt guard a single player in the accbut yes, he wasnt terrible just disappointing for his hype and a huge pussy
10/17/2011 10:39:04 PM
i think the former can be blamed on the latter, unfortunately. he is going to be good at kentucky, after having learned a hard lesson at nc state.
10/17/2011 10:57:26 PM
^I think he'll end up being a decent contributor for UK, nothing else.
10/17/2011 11:57:29 PM
10/18/2011 2:05:09 PM
yeah, we'll see.
10/18/2011 2:12:49 PM
10/18/2011 2:31:31 PM
^ Well maybe if he develops a work ethic which he did not demonstrate while here. He's got this off year so putting on the muscle should happen and the 3pt/jump shot will just take hours and hours in the gym. The more I think about it, developing his deep range game should come eventually considering he is such a lights out FT shooter. He has to be a man and recognize that he'll have to work hard to achieve success.
10/18/2011 5:52:35 PM
before coming to NCSU, Harrow was attending camps and work-out sessions around the country. from everything i saw and read, he has a serious work ethic. is everybody basing their accusations of "poor work ethic" on one of Hodge's tweets, the fact that he didn't appear to be very "sick" when he sat out that game, and the pic of him pouting at the Gott press conference?and he has a shot, i remember watching one his high school games where he made 6 threes in a row.[Edited on October 18, 2011 at 6:14 PM. 10/18/2011 6:13:23 PM

10/18/2011 6:24:21 PM
well i mean hes gonna take great care of her in 2 years so...im sure he is working very hard even though he has been "turned loose"
10/18/2011 6:28:42 PM
I did a quick scan of the non-recruiting crap since the 15th and I don't think it was mentioned that D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera committed to Georgetown. Didn't he cancel a visit with us when Purvis committed?
10/18/2011 10:51:05 PM
yeah he did. i think the purvis commitment ruled out DSR
10/19/2011 3:16:52 AM
10/19/2011 8:34:30 AM
^it wasn't his work ethic that bothered me. It was his mental toughness. If he can't take fans getting on your/your teams/your coaches back then he is in the wrong business. And if he can't handle that, then how is he going to handle scoring a basket with 5 seconds left with us down 1? Good riddance to him and good luck
10/19/2011 11:01:05 PM
so tuff
10/19/2011 11:36:08 PM
^^ exactly. I was gonna remind everyone of the letter he wrote to the fans while he was still in high school to defend the coach and the team. If that wasn't a bad sign of things to come for him...
