CB Buckner is one of the worst umps in the game and has been for a long time. That pitch from Wood was definitely a strike and Wood and Fredi had every right to be pissed as that missed call led to both Nats runs.

Thankfully the Braves still pulled off the win and cut the magic number to 2. Maybe they'll get rolling now for the last few series and head into October with some momentum. Fuck the Nats.

Braves need to be playing for home field as if they were battling for the last playoff spot. Honestly having home field and getting to play the Reds/Pirates 1 game series winner is a huge advantage. Plus most likely if they end up the #2 or 3 seed, they'll face the Dodgers with Kershaw/Greinke/Ryu and that stout lineup. I do not want to see the Dodgers in round 1 (or the Cards for that matter)

Heyward had 5 hits last night, and 4 extra base hits by the 4th inning. Braves offense is markedly better with him at the top of the lineup. Braves control their own destiny for home field as we hold the tie breaker over the Cards. Given that it's the Cards though, I am sure they will screw us and sweep this weekend while we only win 2 out of 3.

Also apparently Beachy had another surgery and supposedly will be back by spring training. RIP Beachy.

And that kid Hale who pitched last night deserves a playoff roster spot more than BP throwing Maholm.
