around here a crew cab short bed 4x4 truck is king when it comes to family utility.
1/27/2016 6:46:54 AM
it sounds like the ideal vehicle for neo is the 4x4 safari/astro van
1/27/2016 7:53:22 AM
^^So if you had a family of 4-5 and 1-2 dogs where do the dogs go unless you have a covered/window top? I guess you throw the dogs in the bed along with all the gear?^Realistically my next car would be a Xterra or 4Runner. Everyone seems to have those here. Want a little better clearance / approach angles.

Contextually you knew I was referring to a family of 4-5 with potentially a dog. Are you saying that because the top 3 best selling vehicles are trucks it applies to the average family I was referring to? You don't think companies or industries are impacting the sale of trucks?
1/27/2016 11:01:01 AM
Nope. Initially you said:
1/27/2016 11:06:53 AM
You complaints about pickup trucks reminds me of all the anti-EV people in the Volt thread. "Don't they know they should buy a Prius or a Yaris instead of a Volt?!?!?!"
1/27/2016 11:09:28 AM
You also chopped off my quote:

1/27/2016 11:15:03 AM
What type of vehicles do you own?
1/27/2016 11:22:16 AM
As a multi-vehicle homeowner, your argument is invalid. The answer is more vehicles.
1/27/2016 12:05:53 PM
Far enough.
1/27/2016 12:39:17 PM
^I got your back this time around, haha. Synapse is just giving you shit.
1/27/2016 2:10:35 PM
^^Fair enough*. Hump day can't spell. I don't know if Synapse has a truck or an SUV. I think he drives a 335 or something.

Ford Focus ST. I really want to test drive one of these. My mom gets a discount on Ford, Toyota, or Volvo through her job. She can use it twice a year for herself, friends, or family. She already bought a new Taurus 2 years ago and said I can use it when I want to buy a new car. She isn't retiring for 3 1/2 years though. I might hold out a year, or two before buying a new car. If I don't get a Focus then I'll probably get a Fusion.
3/16/2016 11:50:29 PM
Focus ST's have been selling below MSRP for a while now, so unless you're picky about options and can get an employee discount I would think that you should be able to buy one for around $20k.
3/17/2016 8:39:25 AM
wow really? Something wrong with them or just not what the market is looking for? I think other than the porkiness, it's a pretty sweet whip for someone looking at a GTI/MS3 segment.
3/17/2016 9:41:20 AM
Looking at a Mazda cx-3, anything I should know?
3/17/2016 10:31:59 AM
Just that a Mazda3 is superior in almost every aspect.
3/17/2016 11:59:29 AM
Except the CX-3 has optional awd, higher clearance, and more room?
3/17/2016 12:06:23 PM
^ those are the reasons I was looking at it, well minus AWD, not sure if I need it, the more room is a plus.
3/17/2016 12:15:17 PM
3/17/2016 12:21:42 PM
^Heh, I'm aware what MSRP is for those cars.
3/17/2016 3:11:16 PM
Huh, I didn't know that. Would you recommend the CX-5?Basically I'm looking for some that has a decent amount of room for cargo/passengers, good gas mileage and moderately priced (25-27k tops)
3/17/2016 4:15:02 PM
Eh I wouldn't ever consider a Mazda 3 because there's no AWD. I'd look at the CX-5. Or go drive a Forester XT. They're quite zippy.
3/17/2016 4:35:05 PM
the man lives in raleigh, not colorado. there's no need for awd
3/18/2016 11:33:50 AM
neodata gonna neodata
3/18/2016 12:01:50 PM
Notice how I didn't mention Colorado because when I lived in both Raleigh and Charlotte I went to the mountains quite frequently and often in the winter time. I've done plenty of off road / jeep road driving in the southeast. Rather than making the assumption someone didn't need AWD I said it's a nice to have and something I prefer regardless of where you live. So sure if you think you'd never need it then don't worry about it.
3/18/2016 12:06:39 PM
^^^^^Check out the Honda HRV or its car version the fit if you want something similar in wheelbase to the CX3 and still want some mega cargo room (with seats down). Neither have as much room as the cx5 though, but they are pretty close for cars that are shorter and prob get better mileage.
3/18/2016 3:47:26 PM

im thinking of a RWD sedan, on par with the older inline 6 IS300's.I just think a lot of cars that are out now, just don't inspire the same feeling.I really enjoyed that car.Would like to pick up another one.
3/18/2016 9:10:15 PM
Outside of the exterior styling, what exactly do you miss about that car? What have you driven since?

4/8/2016 1:12:36 AM
^^The Recaro optional seats are reportedly a bit tight for larger people. But notice I said optional.
4/8/2016 8:52:59 AM
^That's good to hear, but I think everyone on every lot that I have seen has the Recaro seats. That seems to be the standard setup that the dealers like to stock.
4/8/2016 9:35:14 PM
Could you get them to swap in a set of non-recaros as a credit option? Or, if time is not of the essence, could you order one not so equipped?
4/10/2016 1:41:30 AM
^I don't know, but yesterday I bought a 2016 Focus Titanium Hatchback with a power moon roof and a bunch of other upgrades. I'm happy with that. It's not the end of the world that I didn't get the RS/ST transmission. The Titanium and SE get better fuel mileage anyway. I'm happy with my purchase.
4/10/2016 1:29:33 PM
Congrats on purchase, even if you're not exactly setting the world on fire with excitement in your purchase choice. Also WTF is an RS/ST transmission?[Edited on April 11, 2016 at 8:48 AM. Reason : ]

I'm guessing he meant ST engine/trans[Edited on April 11, 2016 at 10:02 AM. Reason : I drove a focus hatchback recently...interior was too weird for me]
4/11/2016 10:00:59 AM
I'm not sure how they have the same transmission as the RS clearly has the xfercase or PTO for RWD but yes he means either the transmission from the RS or the one from the ST.
4/11/2016 11:15:24 AM
Either way he's wrong. At least an ST is entertaining to drive. Possibly enough to make you overlook the weird, and cheap, interior.
4/11/2016 1:42:58 PM
See that's how I operate. I'm enough fun where people ignore the weird exterior
4/11/2016 7:43:51 PM
Honda HRV
4/18/2016 8:36:06 AM
It's a pretty disappointing vehicle for Honda. It's selling well because of the badge, but it's driving experience is pretty inferior to that of the Fit, upon which it is based. Mazda CX-3 is a better alternative.
4/18/2016 8:47:25 AM
The CX-3 seems significantly smaller though. The CR-V was appealing because of its size and cost. I'm not looking for something that has amazing performance, I don't really treat cars as toys, they're more devices to get from point a to point b. I mean, I drive a Fiesta now
