I, too, hate all the GDI big east turds coming our way. Rather raid the Big 12 than get all those NE asshats
9/20/2011 10:24:41 AM
them stupid Yankee sons of bitches are ruining everything
9/20/2011 10:25:14 AM
Baylor? Iowa State?ACC already has the Ames, IA market with Harrison Barnes here.

The ACC's logic is: "we're a shit sports conference, we'll accept the going logic on what everyone else around the country says about us finally, so what we're going to do is effectively merge with schools from the weakest college sports region in the country to try and improve."The ACC's dead. It may keep the name but it's effectively dead.[Edited on September 20, 2011 at 10:26 AM. Reason : /]

^ Hasn't it become f*cking clear at this point based on how all these administrators are talking and moving things around that basketball is a complete bystander and doesn't play into these discussions at all? College sports revolves around football, basketball doesn't mean butkus to these people.[Edited on September 20, 2011 at 10:31 AM. Reason : /]

FWIW I wouldn't hate adding Louisville. While I hate everything about UofL and their sports program, I live there. So, it'd be nice to be able to see some ACC games from the Bucket or Papa Johns stadiyum

What I don't understand is we, as State fans, are getting a pretty good deal. The ACCs status as high-major is permanently secured and we don't have to deal with the elite CFB powerhouses ramrodding us every Sat. Let's face it, we will never have the infrastructure in place to compete with Texas or OU in the longterm.

If you want to stick to Southern football and forsake a real gain, I'm sure UT could use some fans right now.

Flyin Ryan thinks the ACC is going to turn into a mid major conference...?

Does he realize that Pitt, Syracuse, Rutgers and UConn are all 20,000 students or more?
9/20/2011 10:48:11 AM
I would love to spend a week in NYC and watch the ACC tournament in MSG. That would be fucking awesome.
9/20/2011 10:50:30 AM

I would love to spend three weekends tailgating in Syracuse, Storrs and Pittsburgh. That will be just as awesome as Chestnut Hill.
9/20/2011 10:59:10 AM
because state will be in their division definitely
9/20/2011 11:00:44 AM
Well, they certainly won't make North/South divisions. That would be ridiculously unbalanced. We'll be in the division with at least one of them for sure.
9/20/2011 11:03:03 AM
no one is making anyone go to a road game
9/20/2011 11:04:12 AM
Carter Finley is the greatest tailgating party in college football
9/20/2011 11:05:19 AM
Not really that unbalanced.BC, UConn, Pitt, Cuse, Umd, VT, Rutgers, UVASure FSU is good but what other schools destroy Pitt or BC in recent years? Miami? Clemson?
9/20/2011 11:06:29 AM
Can we drop this Rutgers bullshit yet?
9/20/2011 11:11:18 AM
Didn't you guys watch the Rutgers-UNC game? The Scarlet Knights travel well. There was more red in the stands than blue.Wait...
9/20/2011 11:13:26 AM
maybe add Rutgers as an academics-only member
9/20/2011 11:13:46 AM
9/20/2011 11:15:11 AM
i'd say that it's balanced north-south.you have VT and FSU at the top of each one in football.then you have a bunch of mid-small bowl contenders. (miami, gt, clemson, nc state, unc, wake vs. pitt, syracuse, umd, uconn, bc)then you have duke and rutgers or uva probably at the bottom, and rutgers is much better than duke and has the possibility to move up quickly with the recent investments made up there.
9/20/2011 11:15:46 AM
I'd much rather party in Stillwater or Lubbock then Pittsbugh!!!!
9/20/2011 11:20:54 AM
I'm not a huge fan of the U-Conn/Rutgers talk. From the beginning I personally wanted Louisville and West Virginia. Any chance that could happen?
9/20/2011 11:22:03 AM

Big 10
9/20/2011 11:33:37 AM
Getting West Virginia would almost be as bad as getting Rutgers.
9/20/2011 11:35:37 AM
^x6 College Park isn't bad actually.^^^ Only an interesting thought that we've been talking about for like a week.
9/20/2011 11:36:51 AM
I'd say in a perfect world - we bring in UConn and Notre Dame next.No I don't think it'll happen (with ND anyways) but if we're going to 16 - those are the two I'd choose.Sidenote - WTF is up with HOOPS posts making sense...don't ruin your street cred HOOPS!
9/20/2011 11:37:03 AM
On this page, i discover that Flyin Ryan is a moron. seriously, my head hurts after reading all the stupid here. syracuse and pitt were the two best options for expansion, bar none. (don't be stupid, no one is leaving the big 10). i don't think you'll see another team added until ND decides what they are going to do. they are the only big time football program the ACC has a chance to get. (they better not bow down and take fucking texas and their bullshit network, it wouldn't help the conference a damn bit)
9/20/2011 11:37:08 AM
my vote goes for UConn and Louisville. Has Notre Dame showed any interest in coming to the ACC? Seems like the longest of long shots for them to come here, staying independent or going to the Big10 have been their most logical landing places
9/20/2011 11:37:40 AM
9/20/2011 11:37:57 AM
Uconn, Syracuse, and Pitt. Well, fuck football season I suppose.
