the regular season is pretty much meaningless, when will you understand that
8/14/2010 3:48:00 PM
nelson is an all-star caliber point guard, and felton is a notch below, which isn't bad by any means, especially for a fledgling team like the bobcats. really can't believe they let him walk
8/14/2010 4:46:16 PM
^^ I don't know, maybe when the numbers support it?Sure, you can have a few veteran teams like Boston this year who lay low all year and then go balls to the wall in the playoffs. But historically the regular season is a pretty damn good predictor of postseason success in the NBA.
8/15/2010 1:20:44 AM
yeah the felton turnovers in the regular season translated well to the ones in the playoffs
8/15/2010 1:38:58 AM
^^the best players step their game up another notch in the postseason, in every sportif you can't see that obvious fact, i can't help you
8/15/2010 2:35:40 AM
So ARod is a terrible baseball player with his playoff history?Felton wasn't great but he's better than what we're stuck with.
8/15/2010 2:37:57 AM
he might be better than what we're stuck with, but rally is obsessed with reulgar season stats, when the playoffs are an entirely different animalhe seems to think the game tempo and intensity of the playoffs can be predicted by the regular season, when thats absurdly off-base]
8/15/2010 2:40:55 AM
You are just making things up now.Statistically, the evidence does not support that players "step up" in the postseason. It's a complete myth that people like you perpetuate for some unknown reason.Just because you say it, doesn't make it true.
8/15/2010 2:34:37 PM
so is this the thread i can laugh about Kwame Brown in?
8/23/2010 3:01:16 PM
Jordan loves mulligans
8/23/2010 3:02:30 PM
As bad as it looks, at least we got him for the minimum. I'd rather see him out there than shitty Diop in all honesty too.The question is now who gets cut to sign him? Probably Damp?
8/23/2010 3:30:07 PM
damn was that really 10 yrs ago ... ok well 9½ yrs ago (2001 draft)LOL i forgot about the Kirk Haston pick ... jeesh[Edited on August 23, 2010 at 7:18 PM. Reason : ]
8/23/2010 7:14:43 PM
i wonder if Jordan started out this meeting "now guys ... dont laugh but..."
8/23/2010 8:18:29 PM
whats Kwame Brown's "Mendoza Line" stat?I think its something about how he has always averaged more turnovers than rebounds + blocks or something?]
8/23/2010 8:25:05 PM
nm, I was thinking of Eddie Curry
8/23/2010 9:11:15 PM
Kwame is a pretty good pickup for the vet minimum. He's gotten a lot of rest the last two years since detroit has had some deep frontcourts but his numbers adjsuted for minutes look decent other than his horrid ft shooting. He was a solid contributor for the lakers for a few years and he's only 28 so I can't fault jordan here for taking a cheap stab since the nba will be paying almost half of the guy's contract for us.
8/24/2010 11:45:03 AM
if Kwame Brown were drafted #26 overall, no one would laugh at this signing.
8/24/2010 12:00:31 PM
if he was drafted #2 overall, no one would laughit's only funny because it's jordan
8/24/2010 12:05:04 PM
9/14/2010 4:52:08 PM
Yay
9/14/2010 5:27:43 PM
yikes, so that trade was a total bust.Only the Bobcats could get nothing but shitty contracts and bad players in return for a huge expiring deal with a guy who is still a starting center!Unbelievable.
9/14/2010 5:54:31 PM
leave it to Jordan to mess that one up
9/14/2010 6:01:31 PM
at least we dumped his salary
9/14/2010 8:18:54 PM
Probably also dumped this season
9/14/2010 8:25:04 PM
I don't think Dampier was the make-or-break piece to our seasonIf we dumped our season, it was probably by things such as allowing every other team in the East to add good players, while we didn't do shit
9/14/2010 8:27:31 PM
speaking of sean may, his name popped up on my "who to follow" thing on twitter http://twitter.com/BigMay42
9/14/2010 8:28:31 PM
Dude chandler is still a starting center. On top of that his contract is expiring so its valuable. In return we got two guys (najera and carroll) who no one wants who make medium sized money (~3-4 million per season) and a contract we waived. We saved a little money this year but we take on more money next year. In the meantime we lose a starter who had no long term commitment. What sense does that make?We let Felton walk coming off his best season and we replace him with a guy who had 20 good games in the last three years. We're taking Miles who was a stud in like 2004 but hasnt been able to hang in the league since due to injuries...We're taking Kwame Brown who couldnt get off the bench for a 20 win team...We arent moving forward thats for sure

The future does not look good. The present doesn't look that good either.
9/15/2010 9:48:35 PM
Devin Harris Charlotte bound?
