i'd say that's some nc state shitget well soon, nate.
6/28/2009 12:09:07 PM
It's not life threatening, so that's the good news. The bad is that the heart of our defense will probably be on the shelf all season. Dammit. Hopefully he can make a full recovery and come back strong in 2010.

Terrell Manning, your time is now
6/28/2009 12:32:52 PM
this must have been deliberate
6/28/2009 12:33:59 PM
damn. broken leg and collapsed lung. That's definitely some nc state shit.
6/28/2009 12:34:10 PM
fuck... this... shit...you know, I just started telling people how we might have a chance at a good season... and I wouldn't say that this kills that or anything, but it certainly will be a solid blow against our D. I was really looking forward to watching him play this season. I guess now some other guys are really gonna have to step up.Removing the frustration and aggravation, on the more human aspect of it, I'm at least glad he's alright, that it wasn't something more serious. Best of luck to him and his family while he works through this.
6/28/2009 1:09:20 PM
The NC State Shit is starting already...I mean, seriously? A fucking car accident?FUCK.

6/28/2009 1:19:06 PM
how about ghost editing the countdown clock for the actual fucking time of the game?
6/28/2009 1:39:40 PM
Carter Finley has to be built on an old Indian burial ground or something. This is crazy.
6/28/2009 1:40:03 PM
interesting blog with analysis about the upcoming season from the NYTimes.http://thequad.blogs.nytimes.com/wondering where we'll end up. They've started at #120 and are ranking every D1A school, they are at #66 now.
6/29/2009 7:44:37 AM
^3 wat?^4 not at all
6/29/2009 10:44:31 AM
i dunno - just wish whoever made the countdown timer would change it to reflect the actual kickoff time
6/29/2009 8:13:30 PM
i made it and thought it was right... hm
6/29/2009 8:46:37 PM
6/29/2009 8:49:07 PM
ncsuftw1 it was right originally, but then they moved up the time an hour.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMSSmI6P2QA
6/29/2009 9:15:08 PM
oh that's stupid. 8:00 kickoffs kickass and everybody can get there on time with tailgating time to spare
6/29/2009 9:30:02 PM
sorry, didn't read the fine print...thanks for making it in the first place
6/29/2009 9:36:54 PM

Andrew Wallace Daythis thread fell off quick after the irving wreck
7/1/2009 8:34:22 AM
We're all in a state of mourning.
7/1/2009 8:37:51 AM
I think a lot of people had built up pretty high expectations and the Irving wreck popped their balloons. I still see a solid 7-8 win season and bowl game. As long as we improve year-to-year, I'll be happy. I wasn't really expecting to win the ACC this year regardless of media outlets picking us as a "darkhorse". The darkhorse rarely actually wins when the media picks them anyway.
7/1/2009 8:45:31 AM
I'm just mad I won't get to watch Irving play, even if we win every game he's out... the dude is fun to watch
7/1/2009 9:14:35 AM
THE DUDE IS FUN TO WATCH.
7/1/2009 11:22:46 AM
glad you agree
7/1/2009 11:45:19 AM
We have some depth at linebacker and quite a few young guys who haven't had a shot on the field yet. Nate was the same way last year, young and unproven. Nate is definitely a special player, but I'm excited to see what other young guys will look like who haven't seen the field yet.
7/1/2009 1:04:24 PM
So I'm watching College Football Live and they are interviewing Coach Friedgen. That guy really has lost some weight. I mean he's still big, but you can tell just by looking at his face that he's worked on losing some pounds.Still though FUCK MARYLAND!

Wilson's ability to run has worked quite well with our highly-collapsible offensive line.
7/1/2009 4:19:28 PM
I think they have T. Lewis a little low on that list. He really is a good player and has played well for Duke, he just hasn't gotten as much support from the rest of his team. I think he'll have a solid year this year if he can stay healthy.
7/1/2009 4:22:45 PM
I agree. I think Lewis should be #3.
7/1/2009 4:44:44 PM
^, ^^ Agreed. Lewis was 2nd team All-ACC last season but now he's the 7th best QB in the league? That makes no sense. I also think Yates is much too low. He'll be a Top 3 QB in the ACC this season.
7/1/2009 5:02:57 PM
Besides you being a UNC fan, what makes you think Yates will be a top 3 qb with no Nicks or Tate(for when he actually played) to rely on. I guess you could make a case for him due to the lack of good qbs in the league. I think this list below is the most accurate I've seen, except I would rank Ponder in the top half.http://www.thesunnews.com/630/story/960414.html
7/1/2009 5:32:26 PM
top 3lol

http://myespn.go.com/blogs/acc/0-6-250/Hope-and-concern--NC-State.htmlHope and concern: NC StateJune 30, 2009 11:00 AMPosted by ESPN.com's Heather DinichBiggest reason for hope -- QuarterbacksUnlike coach Tom O'Brien's first two seasons in Raleigh, there's no question who the starting quarterback is -- Russell Wilson. He also happens to be the best quarterback in the ACC, and he finally has a backup who isn't a liability in Mike Glennon. Both of them are going to play, and they bring different strengths to the offense that will keep opposing defenses alert. Wilson is one of the most accurate passers in the conference, and Glennon has already drawn comparisons to Matt Ryan.Biggest reason for concern -- InjuriesIt might have been the program's biggest weakness over the past two seasons. We saw how good a football team NC State had in the second half of 2008 when everyone was healthy, and we also saw it fall apart in the second half of the Papajohns.com Bowl after Wilson hurt his knee. Strength and conditioning coach Todd Rice is slowing rebuilding the Pack's philosophy and approach to training, and in turn there should be fewer injuries this fall. NC State will fall out of the Atlantic Division race again if players like Nate Irving and Alan-Michael Cash don't stay on the field.

Is Irving definitely out for the year?
7/1/2009 7:56:22 PM
^TBD as far as I can tell.
7/1/2009 8:02:51 PM
they haven't given a timetable for his return yethe could be back by WF or he could be out for year depending on where/what was broken in the leg
7/1/2009 8:03:04 PM
Any idea when he finds out what bone is broken?? Seems like something that would have already been determined.
7/1/2009 8:14:24 PM
^you serious?
7/1/2009 8:26:53 PM
ehhh ... marginally. Side note to what's probably an ignorant question: I've never broken a bone, so I'm in the dark here[Edited on July 1, 2009 at 8:37 PM. Reason : I know his leg is broken. I'm asking when will he know what in the leg is broken (IE: femur, etc)]
