She's right. They did win. . . more congressional seats for the majority.
11/5/2009 9:03:33 AM
the question is not so much about gaining one or two single congressional seats, the question is how much the election has impacted the voting trends of the blue dogs.but hey, sticking your head in the sand is always a winning strategy, so carry on.
11/5/2009 9:42:02 AM
Haha you stupid fucking conservatives have no idea how happy you should be that the democrats are the way they are.
11/5/2009 9:47:59 AM
Sure, the voting trends as it pertains to their state governor. Want to talk about voting trends? How about the GOP imploding in New York thus coughing up a district they've held since the Civil War.[Edited on November 5, 2009 at 9:50 AM. Reason : .]

^That's a problem that can be fixed with primaries. If the GOP had supported the conservative candidate all from the start instead of some RINO, the democrat would've been trounced. You're whistling past the 2010 democrat grave-yard my friend.
11/5/2009 10:28:03 AM
^^ i don't get the emphasis the media in general is putting on the governors. It's really bizarre.NC has had a democratic governor for years, but we usually vote republican for the presidential election. A state's governors isn't that important when it comes to the presidency.[Edited on November 5, 2009 at 10:29 AM. Reason : ]

^^^ If you're alleging that from last november to this nov the country went from loving the democrats to hating the democrats, then what makes you think the country can't go back the other way by next novemeber? And there was plenty more voting going on than 2 governors races, that don't really signal any overall momentum for the republicans. The Daily Show had a good segement last night that reflected my thoughts... the media seems to be pushing this narrative to have something to talk about "whether it's true or not" (what a commentator on CNN said).http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/wed-november-4-2009/11-4-09-in--60-seconds

Fox's Martha MacCallum reported that:

how is that "misreported?" Did he, or did he not watch the HBO special instead of the election returns? Both of those quotes seem to say he did
11/5/2009 12:27:49 PM
1. No, they don't. "[Obama} was actually watching, you know, the HBO special"v. "If you did watch the movie on HBO"READING IS HARD2. I forgot to mention that she was reporting that Obama was watching his documentary on election night, 2009[Edited on November 5, 2009 at 12:37 PM. Reason : ]

For Thrillers, Glenn Beck Is Becoming New Oprah November 4, 2009
11/5/2009 2:33:22 PM
he's the new oprah because he pushes books on tv??
11/5/2009 5:41:07 PM
shitastic books, at that.
11/5/2009 5:47:08 PM
hooksaw: what are you general thoughts on Glenn Beck?
11/5/2009 6:46:21 PM
I still can't figure out when beck is on... Tried watching him last week when the prez was dissing him but all I saw was oreilly, sustren, and hannity... Is he a weekend only show
11/5/2009 7:11:19 PM
5pm
11/5/2009 7:15:00 PM
You can also catching him at 2am if you're up. But, sadly, he's on the same time Rachel Maddow so I only flip over to see what he is ranting about on his little blackboard during commercial breaks. As forgettable as it was, Faux News attempted a counter to the Daily Show with their own conservative comedy show. Even though it failed miserably it seems they succeeded in bringing the funny through crazy with Beck.
11/5/2009 7:27:13 PM
5?? WTF - who cares about a show at 5pm... That would be like complaining about Maury. I think it says something about his credibility that he's just a daytime talkshow
11/5/2009 8:35:56 PM
I just report when that douchebag is on...
11/5/2009 8:37:22 PM
Glenn Beck is absolutely an open, festering sore, who, arguably, ought to be shot to quell his influence on the undereducated, alarmist, xenophobes in the United States.but I can't say I don't tune in when I catch him on TV.
11/5/2009 9:02:34 PM
who in the hell is even home from work in time to watch him???probably only lazy unemployed living-on-the-dole liberals, which would explain why they're the only ones talking about him[Edited on November 5, 2009 at 9:40 PM. Reason : s]

So I just added a high school friend on facebook, she lists bill'o and beck as her favorite tv shows. I mentioned that I didn't think we had similar tastes in television, and she replies with "That's cool, I figured. Many young Americans have that same attitude because of what's been fed to them."How do I respond to this?

Yeah, Rush's 12:00 timeslot and Beck's 5:00 timeslot cause me to question how hard-working their listeners are. I read somewhere the that average Rush listener is like >60 years old, iirc. That might account for most of it.

I don't like Beck or Limbaugh or O'Reilly. They're just a bunch of loud-mouth buffoons who have nothing remotely relevent to add to the conversation. BUT THEIR RATINGS ARE THROUGH THE ROOF, SO EAT THAT, YOU LIBTARD FUCKS!
11/8/2009 8:33:59 AM
to me how are Limbaugh, Beck, or O'Reilly any different from Olbermann, Matthews, or Maher. All of them have politcal opinion shows its just the latter are leftists while the former sway right.
11/8/2009 9:22:24 AM
yes, just a difference of views. No difference in their demeanor or how they treat their guests, the type of stories they choose to cover, the threshold of evidence they require to report a story, the unfounded accusations they make, their unstated insinuations, etc. All exactly the same...
11/8/2009 11:27:42 AM
^ you take things way too seriously. they're all entertainers first and foremost.also, perhaps you feel that the entertainers on your side are less offensive, because they offend your personal sensibilities less.... not because they actually are.[Edited on November 8, 2009 at 11:37 AM. Reason : s]
