Where?
4/17/2011 6:12:53 PM
So do we take a chance with moving to one of the other sites that are still open? The gambler in me has the itch to move some money onto Cake, but it may be wise to let things settle and see how it plays out. Smaller networks may be next to go...
4/17/2011 6:57:56 PM
yeah the whole thing was brutal. okay when i say crushing my idea is prob a little different than yours i was playing 2/4, 3/6 multitable limit online and 5/10 - 10/20 limit live. Back when the games were 6 to the flop. my variance was almost non existent week to week online. So much dead money. And the swings arent bad at limit like NL because the pot sizes are consistent

In a case this large I bet it will be 5 years before anything gets resolved. But I think there's a strong likelihood the players get their money back in 6-12 months.Too costly to steal money from that many Americans and not have a large percentage of people revolt against one party or another.
4/18/2011 7:30:43 PM
I think neteller took 18 months. Luckily I have a little less than a grand locked up which in all honesty has just been sitting around for the past few years.
4/18/2011 10:03:48 PM
Yeh I remember that David, that's the first year I really got into poker and luckily had xfer'd a good bit of my money offline shortly before all that went down, thankfully.I'm not really sweating this too much, I just hate having horses that can't xfer me money back and shit. But I do have a few Euros/Canadians and they are gonna be Paypal-ing me their earnings (fingers crossed).I get a fat bonus for work soon, I was hoping to throw that on for the SCOOP and play some big events. Guess that's not going to happen now though
4/19/2011 10:53:11 AM
Cashed out all but $55 a few weeks ago and bought myself an ipad 2, yay. Only have about $100 locked up
4/19/2011 2:04:16 PM
Which was probably a wise move on 2 fronts
4/19/2011 4:14:46 PM
Looks like we are getting our money back a lot sooner than expected. Good news in dark times.http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/money_co/2011/04/pokerstars-and-full-tilt-poker-reopen-but-not-for-play.html

4/27/2011 4:13:13 PM
Booked ~10k hands today on stars. First real session since #BlackFriday. 12 tabling -- still decent action out there. Trying to get as much in as possible before i move back to the states. Playing fairly aggressive.VPIP 16.27PFR 12.823Bet 6.41[Edited on April 30, 2011 at 7:56 PM. Reason : .]

Requested a check from bodog today, will let you know how it goes. Their debit card system was pretty slick, but it seems to be down at the moment.

Nice. Got my deposit from pstars a few days ago for anyone interested.
5/4/2011 3:36:41 PM
anybody heard anything else from FT? on their website they just keep changing the date they are going to actually tell us something useful.
5/8/2011 8:26:24 AM
From FTPDoug on 2+2 on 5/5:
5/8/2011 10:19:06 PM
I used to play locally on Capital, the place got raided by SWAT.
5/9/2011 2:57:44 AM
I broke down and deposited on LockPoker. TheNuts.com is running a promo if you sign up for rakeback with them and you'll get a free IPAD2. You have to meet a certain rake requirement over 60 days, but it shouldn't be a big deal to meet. Also, if you try to sign up, I found it a lot easier to deposit in their casino and then transfer money to the poker room.
5/10/2011 9:38:05 AM
Yeh I threw a little bit of money on RPM Poker, a Merge skin. So far so good. 35% rakeback, extremely soft cash, SNG, and MTTs. Software kinda sucks and i'm a tad sketched on ever seeing this money again but no worries.
5/10/2011 3:24:22 PM
Let me know how your withdrawals go on those sites. Tempted to make a small deposit, as long as I can withdraw on a weekly basis.
5/10/2011 4:32:02 PM
Just had one of my Canadian horses xfer me some money he owed me on FTP...he hasn't had the ability to xfer to my US account since Black Friday ... I can't withdraw it or use it ... but it processed and shows up in my cashier ...Step in the right direction though

Nice.Another friend from home games in Raleigh just went pretty deep in the 1.5 6max..and he FT'd a Venetian 550 already this summer too.Man I wanna be in Vegas right now. Damn the real world and it's silly obligations.

Shockingly that news report isn't even close to accurate.]
7/27/2011 8:07:02 PM
Why the shit would they try to rob Greg's game (it's not "high stakes" as the new reported)?Theres def more to it. I dunno why people would rob a 2/5 or tiny 5/10 game..hrm.
7/27/2011 10:41:37 PM
i heard it was 1/2. Do tell if you know more. But asking why is a stupid question. Meth is meth. Money is money.A lot of good 1/2 games have $2-5k at the table and another $5k behind it.1/2 in a local game is usually deep stacked with a rock and crazy nutters making $20-$30 opens.
7/28/2011 12:18:09 AM
When I played there a few times ~2 yrs ago it was 1/2. I thought I remember them bumping up the stakes to 2/5 and maybe 5/10 now-a-days. But yeh i'm sure there's more to the story.
7/28/2011 9:28:22 AM
Gregg is a really good guy, it sucks that this happened at his place.]
7/28/2011 9:39:04 AM
Yeah, all the comments in the article mention it was 1/2 and not "high stakes" but as face mentions, it sure as hell beats trying to rob a gas station for a few hundred bucks.
7/28/2011 9:46:38 AM
Yeh for sure, I always liked seeing Greg around, he was a pretty cool guy.
7/28/2011 1:36:57 PM
Holy shit full tilt poker was a $400 million ponzi scheme!!

9/20/2011 1:47:38 PM
Dunno of any places up there.I'm kinda surprised none of these articles i've been reading today mention Benyamine or Ivey, everything i've heard indicated they were also dipping into the FTP pot of gold pretty heavily.
9/20/2011 7:00:14 PM
my gambling nerve is restless....is there anywhere that is 'safe' to put a little bit on money in online to calm my nerves? poker is my love, but if i have to stick to sports betting or...well, anything at this point, i may be tempted. suggestions?....other moving from nc to a place that i can legally give my money to other people!
9/21/2011 1:51:50 AM
Skins on merge were the last "legitimate" US facing sites, but they're the DOJs next target (and they no longer accept US players)
9/21/2011 10:08:07 AM
What can the DOJ do against Merge? I don't think they were pulling bank frauds. Is Cake still taking US players? Otherwise there are games in the area, if you can find them. Meetup has a few options. Merge is okay. Stuck in micros with a small BR that I probably won't see anyway. Not a lot of PLO tables, and tournament Holdems fill up semislow
9/21/2011 10:48:42 AM
The same thing they did to FT, PS, and AP? http://www.subjectpoker.com/2011/09/doj-merge/I hope if you're putting money onto a poker site, you're doing so with the understanding you are most likely never getting any money back out.
9/21/2011 11:48:34 AM
Yeah, and I'm guessing the amateurs are non existent now. Def looking forward to playing in CA even if I have to pay for my drinks and I'm playing with loonies and toonies.
9/21/2011 12:06:12 PM
There's still the EU amateurs/casual players. I was under the impression Merge was smart enough to not lie to banks about things. I hope there's a difference between sending money via WU to John Slong and wiring money from a bank to a false company. Stars gave me my money back in ~3 weeks, which I threw in Merge. May need to look at Tourneys again - I actually made money in the $2.20 Stars MTTs and have no idea why I switched to cash PLO.
9/21/2011 4:59:02 PM
VPN --> Euro sites. Ez day.
9/21/2011 8:21:21 PM
what is still legally available to us players on bodog?sports? casino?
10/24/2011 10:22:06 PM
Just got notice I'm getting my whole full tilt balance deposited to my bank acct. Thanks Obama!
