Bo had sure hands...something our other WR's didn't prove that they had. Don't remember Bo dropping a pass this season. We will return MVS, Alston, Cherry, Ramos(if he doesn't fully disappear), Trowell and Louis while adding in Bryan Sessoms and Nyheim Hines. We should be fine at the wideout position.

He's a solid, steady WR. Our offensive philosophy is trending to a more run heavy scheme and in that type of offense you typically want big, athletic playmakers who will go downfield in single coverage (see: GT, Wisconsin). While Hines would still be valuable going forward he's not as useful doing that as he'd be in a pass heavy one. He's not a #1 receiver and his stats reflecting that say more about our other WRs than they do him.

He was a really good WR with great hands and great awareness. The reason he led us in receiving wasn't because he had amazing separation ability. It's because he always knew where the soft spots in zones were and made it easy on the QB. Definitely going to miss him, but best of luck.

I found this news SICKENING. During the Spring game there were two players that stood out to me on which were Jacoby and Hines. I called it that Jacoby was a baller even-though so many TWW were discrediting him for not starting over Driskel. I also called that Bines would be starter as true freshman because the kid simply has hands of gold. I was looking forward to seeing him improve over the course of four years and going to the NFL. He's not the fastest receiver but he knows how to run routes and find the perfect positions. He also simply doesn't drop balls as if its near him he's going to catch it and pull that sucker in. Also, on punt return he never made bad decision. I'm extremely irritated by this but cant blame the kid for wanting an IVY league education. Grinnage and Dayes were the second and third best receivers.

He was never going to ever get any burn in the NFL. It takes a lot more than hands and brains to play on that level. We've got a myriad of options at that position so I'm not concerned at all. There's game breaking potential from a number of players that will fill his role.

Pretty sure Hines was told to never do anything but fair catch punts or let them hit the ground. I don't remember him ever attempting to gain yards but I guess that is better than a turnover. Still would rather us find someone that is a threat to do something with a kick, Hines was simply someone who would prevent a negative but was never a positive and in college football and the number of bad punters need to find someone who can make things happen occasionally.

Him transferring hurts...but it's not really crippling news for our offense.Wonder if Dakwa Nichols would get some time at WR since it seems like he will struggle to see the field as a RB.[Edited on December 28, 2014 at 9:52 AM. Reason : d]

I football enough to know touchdown is 1 word not 2. Maybe Hines is going to Yale so he can be President one day. I hear he ALWAys makes the right decision. Probably his campaign slogan.

read this. stunned. STUNNED.this is bad, like Amerson leaving early bad but wurstespecially if he left due to academic worth as that is State's only real recruiting tool like Duke and Vandy

Word is Juston Burris thinking about transferring since he will graduate this spring, but have 1 more year of eligibility remaining
12/28/2014 3:57:41 PM
^That would be a much bigger blow than Hines. Just not sure why he'd want to transfer when he knows he's going to start and our defense should be improved.

lol, who gives a shit if Bo Hines could make it in the NFL or not? Him transferring to Yale is more than enough evidence that football is not a goal in his life...its a hobby. Therefore, he prolly doesn't give 2 dicks about playing in the NFL.

seems like the northeast would be a prime, untapped recruiting zone now that paterno and the big east are both gone. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the northeast schools become a powerhouse to fill the void in that part of the country. Definitely would be nice to compete with them for some of that talent.

^it sounded like most of his recruiting ties were actually south florida. he was WRs coach at arkansas before going to syracuse and was only there 2 seasons, i think.[Edited on January 6, 2015 at 4:41 PM. Reason : d]
