So who should we want to win? BC or Miami? Another loss for Miami makes our sweep of them look less impressive but it may help us take their place on the bubble.
3/3/2012 2:39:33 PM
BC knocks them off the bubble. We would be better off with that I believe.
3/3/2012 2:52:03 PM
finishing in a tie with miami and one other team gets us a better seed in the acc tournament though I thinkalso it would be nice if they finished the year inside that stupid ass "top 50 rpi wins" stat. you know, the one where we have 0 wins against the top 50 rpi because we swept miami and beat texas, who would be in the top 50 otherwise
3/3/2012 3:13:30 PM
Not matter what's better BC is not winning @Miami. they up 21 right now.
3/3/2012 3:29:43 PM
looks like we might get a lucky break with Murray State pulling this out

Thanks for posting that ^Wichita is currently tied with Illinois St with about 4 minutes left[Edited on March 3, 2012 at 4:34 PM. Reason : f]
3/3/2012 4:30:07 PM
Feel free to add teams to the list over the week too as it becomes obvious they are in the tournament win or lose...Example: A bubble team like Cincy advances to the Big East Final they should be added to the list. If a team like Pittsburgh makes it to the Final, they should not be added to the list though obviously.I'd do it myself but I'm going to be away from my computer this week and it's too difficult from my phone.
3/3/2012 4:33:55 PM
ugh, way to go wichita
3/3/2012 4:45:44 PM
yeah, wichita lost. as long as creighton wins the tournament it shouldn't matter though.

UNCA is in
3/3/2012 5:18:00 PM
they had to, they werent going to be taking any spots away from bubble teams
3/3/2012 5:24:05 PM
i still don't know why Pac12 isn't on that listthey're going to get 3, maybe 4
3/3/2012 5:28:43 PM
1 now equals 3 or 4 I see
3/3/2012 5:31:50 PM
didn't you know? teams with less than 10 losses in major conferences pretty much always suck
3/3/2012 5:45:17 PM
pac 12 was an oversight, my fault. Add Cal and whoever is in already
3/3/2012 6:31:28 PM
belmont losing
3/3/2012 7:37:24 PM
welp, looks like we aren't going to get any help in the ACCT bracket
3/3/2012 7:48:48 PM
^We could win and still get the 6 seed so we don't know that
3/3/2012 7:52:09 PM
yeah we'll have to re-evaluate our preferred seeding depending on who wins this game
3/3/2012 7:55:44 PM
So I want to win and get the 6 seed I think. Go Clemson and UVA. But I also want a bye. Hell I don't care anymore. Just beat VT.
3/3/2012 8:38:35 PM
3/3/2012 8:48:52 PM
I know this is probably a special needs questions, but what's the deal with Belmont winning?[Edited on March 3, 2012 at 9:13 PM. Reason : Like does it have something to do with us? I didn't see where we played them.]
3/3/2012 9:11:27 PM
as a bubble team, we want all the mid-major conference schools who won their regular season to also win their post game tourneya team like Belmont would get an at large bid most likely if someone else won their conference tourney, meaning less at-large spots for teams like NC Statealso teams that win their regular season and don't make the NCAA get automatic NIT bids, so it helps our NIT seeding too lol]
3/3/2012 9:13:08 PM
Oh word, that makes sense. Thanks.
3/3/2012 9:14:08 PM
If belmont loses then they still likely make the tournament and so does the random team that wins their conference tournament. So one spot evaporates. Unc winning hurts. I think id rather get the 6 because a win over Fsu and duke gives us a good shot whereas a win over uva and loss to unc probably isn't good enough
3/3/2012 9:15:52 PM
i don't know that we can beat FSU, though.
3/3/2012 9:18:39 PM
We did play unc better last time and they typically aren't great in the ACCT but I would still put our odds of winning at about .005% I just want to beat VT then let whatever happens happen in regards to seeding. It's all irrelevant if we lose tomorrow.
3/3/2012 9:21:36 PM
Do we want texas to win against Kansas? If they win, its good that we beat texas, but then again, that could solidify their tournament spot
3/3/2012 9:23:57 PM
Lunardi says 6 in from the ACC right now...course he has 10 teams from the Big East in, so who the fuck knows^interesting question, but i think its a moot point, i think Kansas is too good<[Edited on March 3, 2012 at 9:30 PM. Reason : .]
3/3/2012 9:27:04 PM
belmont wasnt making the tournament if they lostthey won, so it doesnt matter, but yea
3/3/2012 9:39:36 PM
The latest bracketology by Lunardi I see only has 4 ACC teams, not 6.
3/3/2012 10:32:50 PM

^^i'm just going off a graphic they showed about an hour ago on ESPNU, could have been a typo for all I know...but maybe after Murray State, Asheville and Belmont won, he adjusted, but I'm not an ESPN Insider[Edited on March 3, 2012 at 10:40 PM. Reason : had both the ACC and Big XII with 6 bids apiece]
3/3/2012 10:39:59 PM
so we're pulling for a clemson and uva win and then us beat vt and we get a 6seems like the best possible outcome at this point
3/4/2012 12:29:57 PM
3/4/2012 1:53:25 PM
looks like clemson is done for
3/4/2012 2:04:46 PM
Yeah, Roy's UNC teams always get up for us no matter what. I'm pretty sure he tells his guys to absolutely humiliate us, not just beat us.
3/4/2012 2:06:22 PM
ugh, its pretty much gonna be a 4,5 or 7:-/I think I'm pulling for UVA here, more than likely we're going to be playing them in the quarters and we need that possible win to still be meaningful[Edited on March 4, 2012 at 2:14 PM. Reason : .]
3/4/2012 2:11:04 PM
I hear G-Man, but for some reason I'm watching a fucking Missouri Valley Conference game.

so better record, better rpi, better sos, and swept miami...we definitely ought to be ahead of them in the ncaa discussion. it'd be nice to see miami (or texas) get into the top 50 rpi just give us a win over a top 50 team.
