Funny how different the game is when you are there and when you read about it on tww

ALSO: HD was probably busy giving head to NCAA investigators to get the remaining UNC players cleared for tomorrow's game. She's hyped that game all summer and can't back down now.

My guess is since she is a relatively new mother and the game didn't end till nearly 11pm, that she was too tired and we will get a write up in the morning.

Wow, glad she slammed out that regurgitation of everything the commentators said from the game last night. Maybe she just watched it on Sportscenter this morning.

lot of Grown Man running last night by all the backs. teach Haynes to hold on to the ball and we suddenly have depth at RB.

funny looking back a preseason now and our worries were defensive secondary and rb's. hope these three games weren't flukes bc we were looking pretty damn dynamic last night. now a long week to study the option. feel like our linebackers can handle if they stay healthy. manning = irving 2.0

Man I love the aggressive play calling from the defense. Even though they got a few big plays because we brought the house, you can just see the how much faster and more into the game our defense is this year versus last year. So pumped that we are 3-0! GG Pack. Best all around performance from a State football team in a long time (outside of suck ass Ruiz).

Maybe I was being overly optimistic but a week before the season when I went through our schedule I put us at 8 wins including the 3 we already have. I mean that may have been pushing it but seriously 2?

Will Dean Haynes get the start against GT? Greene and Underwood looked terrific last night while Dean was justifiably benched after fumbling twice.

One of his fumbles wasn't all his fault. The exchange from the QB was a little off. He never got a good hold on the ball. We should have figured that he would be due for a couple of miscues at the beg of the season since he's fairly new at the RB position. Some more reps in practice should iron out the kinks. But I think Greene gets the starting nod next week after his performance.

The other fumble WAS his fault. Cutting into traffic with the ball extended out away from the body unprotected. That was a fumble waiting to happen.

Greene had one too like that I believe.

I put together a quick video of some of the Military Appreciation Day stuff. Kudos to those involved with the planning, it made for a great gameday experience. Flyovers still give me chills every time... I wish we could have one every game.

Yes, two. Our defense allowed an average of something like 38 points per game last season and that average even includes the 7 that South Carolina put up (before people knew how to exploit our defense) and the 14 points and 7 points that the cupcakes contributed.

We didn't get rid of Archer in the off season, we still hadn't brought on Tenuta, Cincinnati still had their coach, etc., etc.

At the start of the season I allowed the hype to bump my expectations to 4 wins, but I still felt uneasy about it. Hey, glad I was wrong.

-edit- I'm still struggling to see any/many conference wins. Keeping those expectations low.

I like Haynes, but Greene proved last night he's has the most potential of any back on the team. He needs to add some leg strength to break those arm tackles, but man ... the guy can make some downright nasty cuts.

Haynes is tough, fast, and smart, but you can't have a RB that puts the ball on the ground. I say we move him back to secondary -- where he's really needed, especially after Dontae Johnson went down -- and let Greene and Underwood carry the ball.

I remember feeling this exact same way after we beat Pittsburgh last year, after which point we lost 3-4 games and looked absolutely terrible. I'm tempering my expectations, I like being surprised to see us beat up on these quality teams like we have been

I'll be really interested to see how we handle the triple option attack. I'm hoping Georgia Tech beats UNC and comes into the game feeling overconfident.

our linebackers and linemen are retarded and don't know anything about closing angles, persuit angles or containment. That shit is going to kill us against georgia tech. The offense better have their shit together.

Our secondary is still weaksauce. Luckily our front seven is SOLID. But the secondary is young, hopefully they'll continue to improve, because if they do, we have the makings of a very impressive defense.

I was VERY VERY impressed with our defense last night. Night and day compared to the last couple years. Our linebackers were awesome and our front-line was very strong. Just nice to watch a State game where you were expecting the defense to come up with stops. Good feeling.

Went out to the car for a couple brews at halftime and the pilots of the F-15s drove up and had a couple beers with the people beside of us. I thanked them and all for their service and then I told them that I was dissapointed. I was disapointed that they weren't late like the helocopters were last year. I told them about the fumblecopters. I don't think that they got it. I was drunk.

3-0

We could have played ALOT better last night.

That looks very reasonable. Although I've got to say I never count UNC or UMD as automatic wins. They've had too much good luck and gotten too many of State's worst games over the years to feel comfortable.

On the other than, GT and VT are both, as of right now, looking very beatable. Not certain wins of course, but they definitely can be beaten.

I'm not sold on our D until we play a team that makes it a point to run the ball, and not spread the field. We will know everything there is to know about our defense after these next 2 games...win or lose.

cincinnati had a horrible O-line. they showed what they could do when their QB had more than 2 seconds to throw the ball.... nonetheless state should have won by way more than this

I agree with whoever said it up there ^. Our D line, linebackers, and ends needs to focus on containment angles this week and a half prior to the GT game. Too many times we went at the QB to steep and let him spin out to the corner and gain 6+ yards. I yelled at my tv so hard when I kept seeing that... Shit is basic.

But I think we have a chance to beat this team, if we play well, stop dropping the ball, and continue to get RW back in time with his receivers.

With extra time to prepare, we should handle Georgia Tech. What's the stat that talks about teams with at least 10 days to prepare for that gimmick offense??

Nesbitt is a horrible passer and our defense has shown that they can tackle. Our secondary is our weakness and we won't have to worry about that much against Tech.
